Awesome in April

In the past I have praised Skybet as a bookmaker but I've had a couple of issues with them of late and

will no longer using  Skybet concessions as part of the Stats.

Premium tip members came out of March with a very healthy profit of 24.5pts while the Lay Service

came out with a good profit of 18pts.

The first month records of placepot picks underlined the value of making this a regular wager as we came out

1288 units to the good, a ROI of 69%

My Mind is on the Dboys in the 3.50

Today’s Fortune for a fiver

6 50p doubles 4 25p trebles & £1 acca

Gonnabegood 1.40 @ 11/4

Dontmindboys 3.50 @ 10/3

Kalagin 5.40 @ 4/1

Enniskellen 3.40 @ 2/1

Selected Exeter- good to soft on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

1.40 Admiral Blake was trotting up over C&D when falling at the last tie and has been unlucky to be handed an 8 pound penalty for not even winning ! This puts him out of comfort zone and in a most winnable contest this offers a great opportunity for Gonnabegood, who is effective over C&D and only ran out of gas late on here on desperately deep ground. Today’s better ground is very much in his favour and great chance to get us off to a winner.

¾ pt win Gonnabegood @ 11/4

2.15 Point N Shoot is in very good form and comes here on the back of an excellent 2nd over C&D in a big field. The problem today for this one is the drying ground as he is an out and out mudlark . He also has a modest win record so may not be a a good thing as he looks in this beatable field, but still worth  aplay.

½ pt win Point N Shoot @ 15/8

3.50 Leith Hill lad comes here on the back of  a smart win at Kempton , but this track is so contrasting and also with a penalty, would do very well to double up today. This looks a match between the consistent Jepeck, who runs this track well , but just can’t nail one and the drop in trip wont help, up against the vefy wonderful Dontmindboys who has 3 wins and 2 places in his last five runs. He deserves extreme  credit for his latest win carrying a huge weight at Towcester on bottomless ground and as usual was most determined in the finish. The 5 pound hit could have been worse and he wont mind the drying ground , and ran well on his only run here . Connections are using able 7 pound  claimer james Nixon for the first time and he’s ridden winners here before.

¾ pt win Dontmindeboys @ 10/3

4.25 This is most winnable and well worth risking Gustave dropping in trip as he ‘s run well in both of his recent comeback races and is a fresher horse than most in this.

½ pt win Gustav @ 3/1

Suggested Exeter placepot

4 bets

Selected Yarmouth- good to firm on this flat and galloping track

Rainis forecast so going could well alter

3.25 A most winnable affair an worth risking Bankys Art who switches to turf and has done enough on synthetics to suggest he’s capable off this mark.

¼ pt win Bankys Art @ 7/1

5.05 Another winnable race and worth trying Kalagia who went close on the all weather last time and ran well on turf last year.

¾ pt win Kalagia @ 4/1

No Yarmouth placepot advice

Selected Ludlow- good to firm ground on this flat and sharp track

Plenty of rain is forecast so the going is most likely to change

I was rubbing my hands with glee at the prospect of fast ground and also the reappearance of many fast ground lovers returning from breaks, but if you believe the weather forecast the going  could even turn soft, so due to the uncertainly practically giving the card  a swerve

3.05 Goodtoknow finaly responded to the handicapper’s generosity with a much improved run last time and he will benefit from every drop of rain that falls. Not a  strong heat.

½ pt win Goodtoknow @ 5/1

NO Ludlow placepot advice

Selected Punchestown= probably soft on this undulating and galloping track

Punchestown multi

6 25p ew doubles 4 20p ew trebles and 20p ew acca

Enniskellen 3.40 @ 2/1

Mengli Khan 4.20 @ 9/2

Doctor Phoenix 5.30 @ 10/1

Shattered Love 6.40 @ 6/1

3.40 We start with a cross country event and the King of this sphere, Enda Bolger has only the one representative in Blue Templar, who has proved effectiveness over C&D and ground , but remains a maiden and on C&D form has a bit to find with last year’s winner Enniskellen. As the rest are new to this kind of event they can only be watched and the double looks on.

¾ pt win Enniskellen @ 2/1

4.20 Getabird out his Cheltenham flop behind him with an excellent win at Fairyhouse confirming that he’s far happier going right handed , which he does today. Trying to find a few chinks in his armour, the less demanding ground is not totally in his favour and he has had a couple of hard races of late. He should not be bothered up front early on which is a big plus for his supporters but I’d rather e with Mengli Khan. He was a loftily rated 95 on the flat and his current mark of 150 is most accurate over hurdles. He gave Getbaird a good race over C&D a few starts ago and was conceding weight that day and comes here on the back of an excellent 3rd at Cheltenham in a Grade 1. Looks most solid ew.

½ pt ew Mengli Khan @ 9/2

5.30 The Champion Chase and a red hot field. The odds on fav is the once invincible Douvan who was going really well in the Cheltenham equivalent until taking a late fall. Considering that was his first run for a while, he’s not assure of being the same kind  of form today and he’s up against a couple of talented and tough stablemates in Min and Un De Sceaux. This is likely to be run at a very strong pace with a couple of front runners and at the odds I’m with arguably the most improved 2 mile chaser around in Dt Phoenix. He was a most able type when trained in England but since joining Gordon Elliott he has taken off and his hold up style will be vey much suited to this assured strongly run event.

½ pt ew Doctor Phoenix @ 10/1

6.40 The fav is the highly talented Monalee who will take some beating but the ultra consistent and talented mare has to be a great ew bet. She is showing no signs of a hectic schedule having an effect and the return to this trip is in his favour, much more so thatn the classy Al Boum Photo, who has never impressed at this longer trip.

½ pt ew Shattered Love @ 6/1

Suggested Punchestown placepot

32 bets

Selected Brighton – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track

5.25  Art Echo is a most likeable type but his best runs last year came with give in the ground and the rains are expected to miss the track. Madrinho is hard to fancy back on turf at this longer trip while Sayesses is now on a very testing mark . Andalusite has 3 track wins on her Cv and did well to win at Chelmsford last time making all. She’s likely to try and make all tonight and David probert rides the track really well. She’s on a testing mark and grade , but ticks the most boxes in this.

½ pt win Andalusite @ 5/1

6.30 Most of these are better on the all weather so I’m chancing Becca Campbell, who has 3 wins  here, and despite not showing much in two recent comeback races, that was the case last year and she banged in 3rd race back . She’s been given a ease In the ratings and could surprise in a winnable race

½ pt win Becca Campbell @ 10/1

7.05 This will take little winning and youngster Miniature Daffodil merits plenty of respect as she ‘s good at dong something the others are not – Winning ! However all of her win have come on synthetics so would rather just watch her today . Solveigs Song has a solid chance at the weights and is a dual C&D winner. The 3 months break since his last run, which was a good 2nd is a concern, but in a winnable race, worth an interest.

¼ pt win Solveig’s Song @ 7/1

No Brighton placepot advice

Selected Huntingdon- good to soft ground on this flat and galloping track

Rain is forecast so conditions could worsen

4.35 Eskendash has never finished worse than 4th in 8 starts but never won. This looks an absolute penalty kick, but you do worry abut playing shorties who have never won. Happy to play in a double

5.10 Another race where there is far more quantity than quality and a great chance for Jet set to get off the mark over hurdles. He’s likely to be front rank and this could be his day.

½ pt double Eskendash @ 10/11, Jet Set @ 9/4 – pays over 5/1

6.20 Sackett  has put together a useful series of efforts of late , which looked likely given his early season form. The better ground is in his favour and this longer trip should be within his compass. Looks a very nice ew bet.

½ pt ew Sackett @ 9/1

6.55 The very wonderful 14yo Ratfiy has been well revived by the switch to the Fergal O’Brien stable and is only 2 pounds higher for his latest gutsy win. He would want the rains to come, which is likely and this terrific veteran can win over C&D for the 3rd time .

¾ pt win ratify @ 5/2

8.00 A massive field but few with a chance. The fairly short priced fav is youngster Cubswin, who is still on a very testing mark . The Blue Bomber finally nabbed  win last time after 18 tries and that may give him some fresh impetus.  He is penalised but earlier in the season ran big races off higher marks than this.

½ pt win The Blue Bomber @ 11/2
