Today’s Fortune for a fiver
3 £1 doubles & £1ew treble
Goddess 1.55 @ 15/8
Kew Gardens 4.10 @ 9/4
Jupiter 3.10 @ 12/1
Selected The Curragh- good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
1.20 Blairmayne is a standing dish here with 2 wins and 7 places from 13 starts and I was with him last time when getting up late on in a big field handicap. The 3 pound hit could have been worse and the low draw may not be a bad place to be as the poorly handicapped That’s Not Me is the likely front runner , and he’s drawn close by. Unlikely to be far away again.
¼ pt ew Blairmayne @ 9/1
1.55 A Fillies Group 2 and as usual Aidan O’ brien has a number of runners and all of Chablis, Credenza and the progressive Goddess are in the same ownership and the tactics have been well worked out and Credenza is going to take these along, which wont help Who’s Steff’s cause. The in form Tarnawa could struggle at this trip on quick ground and Goddess looks good to come off the pace for the hat-trick.
¾ pt win Goddess @ 15/8

4.10 The Irish St Leger, which unlike the English equivalent is open to all ages. Joseph O’ brien has both Master of Reality and Twilight Payment who are both front runners and their tactics will have been well sorted , but his father has 4 runners and Capri is likely to be mixing it up front to ensure the ideal pace for last year’s St Leger winner Kew Gardens to land another Group 1. He’s had a light season and this looks very much his target and could be another winner on the day for Aidan O’Brien.
¾ pt win Kew Gardens @ 9/4
4.50 There is far more interest in the jockeys than the horses in this as the greats in the saddle have rallied generously in support of Pat Smullen’s Cancer Campaign and all the jockeys are Irish legends, but I suppose pride of place goes to Sir Tony McCoy and Ruby Walsh. There is little between the horses at the weights but the best equipped jockey for this test is Joseph O’Brien who rides The game Of Life , who is from his stable . This one has only raced 3 times and has come out with 2 wins and a 2nd, all on the Dundalk polytrack., and hasn’t raced for 7 months, but could well be ahead of the game.
½ pt win The Game of Life @ 7/2
5.25 A very valuable juvenile race worth about £150,000, but saying that , the market makes it a match between impressive debut winner Last Opportunity and hat-trick seeking English raider Hamish Macbeth . The likely pacesetter is the high drawn Ocasio Cortez which gives the nod to the latter drawn hard up against the stands rails.
½ pt win Hamish Macbeth @ 3/1
Selected Ffos las- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
3.10 Captain Sedgewick nailed a rare win last time with the front running Jupiter not far behind. I’m with the latter to gain revenge today in an uncompetitive event from a good draw.
½ pt ew Jupiter @ 12/1
5.35 Just Once comes here on the back of two good runs off around this mark, trip and ground. Ran well here last time and a solid ew bet.
½ pt ew Just Once @ 5/1
No ffos las placepot
Selected Bath- firm ground on this sharp but stiff track
2.15 Airbrush comes here on the back of a good 3rd over C&d , and as the 2nd has won well since, a nice bet to break her duck.
½ pt win Airbrush @ 3/1
3.20 Princess Way has a terrific record here and took her form to a new level winning well first time at this trip. The handicapper has got serious, but this is not a deep event.
¼ pt win Princess Way @ 11/4
3.55 I love these big field sprints but astonishingly there are NO front runners and as most of these in form and capable types are hold up types, dependent upon a strong pace, the ones near the front could have this to themselves. Delegate this lord goes well here and can race front rank and I’m with him to pinch this from the front.
½ pt win Delegate This lord @ 6/1
4.30 A very competitive stayers event and almost all of these have been successful here of late and with so many now on tough marks, found myself going round in circles.
5.10 Valentine Mist sprung a 100/1 shock over C&D when making all 2 starts back, but was badly drawn last time and ran way below that level. Better drawn today, but it’s certainly a case of her needing a soft lead which is unlikely. That race was fought out by About Glory and Red Gunner and despite both being nudged up the weights, look likely to be fighting it out again in a weak heat.
¼ pt rev fc About Glory – Red Gunner
