1.30 Jay Kay comes here in the very best of form aftera double in the Ayr mud and can actually race off a slightly lower mark. He has won here in the past but this is his first visit here for awhile. He has to be considered as mud lovers do well on this surface and there are concerns about all of his rivals on current form, but four of his rivals have good form over this C&D and with so many ifs and buts, I’m happy to swerve .
2.00 Few come into this in any great form and the bookies have this right concentrating on just four, but of those, Harvest ranger does have quite a bit to prove returning from an 8 months break, going up in trip and has drawn the dreaded coffin box in 1 , and the jockey booking could have been more positive. Of the other trio. Queen Moon has hardly been setting the world alight but drops in grade and represents a top stable which has a great record here. Medici Moon is consistent and has run pretty well here in the past, and warrants respect, Quiet moment responded well to the drop in the handicap and the longer trip last time with a good win in the Ayr mud. This is her first try here , but comes on the 500mile + round trip for a stable that does well here. Could well double up.
¾ pt win Quiet Moment @ 9/4
2.30 AN easy maiden to swerve as nothing here has ever won a race and it’s all down to who wants it that bit more and that’s impossible to predict with this field .
3.05 PREMIUM RACE
3.40 Plenty of these have bit is for to make them of interest , but they are all very in and out and very much needs it all to drop their way. All or Nothin has hardly cobered himself in glory of late but has form over C&D off higher marks and worth a play.
¼ pt win All or Nothing @ 8/1
4.10 A similar contest with the whole field rare winners and again they mostly have bits of form to make them possibles. Preference is for Excellent World who hasn’t been going badly of late and does have form here.
¼ pt win Excellent World @ 9/2
4.40 The likely front runners is Ayresome Angel who is drawn low, which is often the place to be on the straight track. She’s been getting picked up quite easily of late and hasn;t been offering much resistance. The form horse is MUshariff, but this is his first try here and the high draw is far from ideal. Crosse Fire has 7 track wins on his CV but latest runs nake him hard to fancy . Piazzon is another track specialist and ran pretty well at Sandown on his comeback race, but remains on a testing mark. Treaty of Rome is another wo runs well here and the drop in trip shouldn’t be an issue . he could have done better last time at Newcastle, but on his overall form, worth an interest.
¼ pt win Treaty of Rome @ 6/1
5.10 We have a record holder in the veteran Stand Guard as no ither horse ever in the UK can match his tally of 28 wins on the all weather. He is now a 13yo , but still managed a win two starts back, he runs this C&D well and does go well after a break so looks a lively longshot in a winnable contest.
¼ pt ew Stand Guard @ 14/1

Leopardstown – probably good to soft on this excellent track- flat and galloping
1.50 Foerver Together ran very well on debut for Aidan O’Brian and as we know his juveniles improve chunks for their first run, looks a very nice bet at relatively generous odds. There are quite a few newcomers who runs in famous colours , but from a good draw, well happy to play.
¾ pt in Forever Together @ 3/1
2.20 Great chance of an Aidan o’Brian double with James Cook, who should win but not for me at 4/7
2.55 A tricky nursery as a few of these could improve for the longer trip. Sebastiano Ricci has been going well of late but the ground wont be as testing today and he is partnered by a very inexperienced rider. It’s understandable that Baroness is the fav in her first nursery and just about worth a bet .
¼ pt win Baroness @ 9/4
3.30 A group 3 for juveniles and as usual Aidan O’brian is mob handed with 3 of the 7 runners. The most exposed is the progressive Bye Bye baby whose form is way better than the rest, but we are experienced to know that the stable’s youngters improve no end form early days and big runs can be expected from the stable’s other two in Kenya and Dramatically who both won on their 2nd start. You can also throw into the mu=ix McMunigal who won well on debut and both GUessthebill and Quizzical can add to the interest. Great race to watch
4.00 A valuable listed event and O’Brian saddles three and of that trio the one that interests me most at this trip and at the odds is Finn Mccool, and will do for me at nice odds.
¼ pt ew Finn NcCool @ 12/1
4.30 Quite a good handicap and you would have to give good shut to top weight and useful type in Gold Spinner, but this is a race for apprentice jockeys and they are not even the first division of that sphere. This will come down to jockeyship and I’m happy to swerve .
5.00 A massive field and ghe one that takes my eye is Grand Partner. He had a good year over hurdles , competitive off a mark of 130, which is 90 on the flat. He races off only 79 today, he has a good draw and Billy Lee a positive booking. He could do with a slightly longer trip but this is likely to be strongly run affair and bring his stamina into play and he’s run this track so very well over hurdles.
½ pt ew Grand Partner @ 15/2
5.30 A fun race for the finale as it’s a Charry race and the vast majority of the jockeys have never ridden in public before and are likely to be as able as you or I ! The odds on fav is Brutal who is ridden by Sheikh fahad, who will certainly be one of the more accomplished riders here, and he’ll be desperate to win . His ride Brutal is way ahead on form but also well known for spitting out the dummy and there are a number of runners here for some big stables and a few able hurdlers have a go. I’d never consider Brutal at 1/2 as easy buying money.
NO placepot advice from Leopardstown
Kempton- good ground on this flat and quick track
2.10 The ex-French Risk and Roll was most disappointing on his first run for the top stable of Paul Nicholls and would need to step up considerably to justify even money favouritism. Jumping Jac had winning form on the flat and was rated a decent 77. He ran respectably over hurdles last time and this wont take much winning.
½ pt win Jumping Jack @ 7/4
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.15 A class 1 hurdle and the fav is the consistent Amour e Nuit who was a top stayer on the flat for Sir Mark Prescott and while his form figures are admirable has been called a few choice names over hurdles before. He ha comeback this season bigger and bolder and could have turned the corner, we’ll know more after the event. He has potentially a good race make up as his two main rivals in New Agenda and Listen to the man are both front runners but you had to be impressed b Listen to the man last time when she was a generously priced winner of aclass 1 handicap at Market rasen where she disputed a strong pace and ran every inch to the line, so it’s fair to expect her being able to dispute up front and on this similar track , have too much toe for the fav.
¾ pt win Listen to the Man @ 2/1

4.20 A fascinating Class 1 hurdle which is pretty easy to read. The admirable Rayvin Black is sure to blast off , but this mudlark will be sitting duck and is most unlikely to keep it going on the ground. Old Guard is only a 6yo but has gone off the boil a bit of late and this is likely to be too sharp a test for him. San Benedettto really took off over fences last year and you just canlt be sure if he can transfer that to hurdles, if he could, he’d take some beating. Hint of Mint is an able and likeable type but tends to needs his first few runs back. Optimus Prime is clearly useful but doesn’t race very often . he ended last year with an excellent 2nd in the Swinton Hurdle and started the season with a good 2nd at Huntingdon. This C&D and ground will suit and could just have the edge today.
½ pt win Optimus prime @ 9/4

5.20 far too many ifs and buts in the small field finale
