Selected Newmarket- good to soft ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
1.50 A worthy short priced fav in Platinum Star who is proven on the ground and the trip but 5/4 very skinny and I prefer a play on Flaming Princess who holds her form well and is a real mudlark.
¼ pt ew Flaming Princess @ 14/1
3.00 The once very classy Limato has won this race for the last two years and is the one to beat at the ratings, but soft ground is a negative, which it is though for all of these. Shine So Bright could well have the run of he race from the front , but again ground an issue.
No Bet .
3.35 A Group 1 for juvenile fillies and the joint favs both put unbeaten records on the line. Irish raider Cayenne Pepper is 3 from 3 , but I’m against her today as her best wins have come when allowed to dictate matters from the front, but with the tearaway west End Girl in the field, wont be able to dominate from flagfall and softer ground a further issue. The fav is Quadrilateral , who runs in the Frankel colours and is a daughter of that legend. She is 2 from 2 and hasn’t really had a race yet , so remains an exciting prospect. This is hardly a 2 horse race as Love landed a Group 1 at The Curragh last time out , which is just about the best form on show. Powerful Breeze is 2 from 2 and comes here on the back of a Group 2 win at Donny beating the reliable and tough Boomer. We also have to add the equation John Gosden’s Anastasia, who looked good winning last time. Today’s ground is the softest any have ever experienced before , so impossible to know which will handle the conditions the best but as Boomer is proven off her mark and so tough and determined, well worth a dabble at longish odds.
¼ pt ew Boomer @ 12/1
4.10 Trueshan is a lightly raced type but has come a long way in a short time . After two god wins in maidens he comes here on the back of a terrific effort in the Haydock mud when 2nd to Cesarawitch fancy Ranch Hand, with a host of decent types just behind. The drop in trip looks a smart move and the less demanding ground today will help and another big run looks very much on the cards .Many of his consistent rivals have stiff tasks up in trip and off higher marks.
½ pt ew Trueshan @ 5/1
5.20 Fanny logan is 4 from 4 at this trip and 3 from 3 wearing a hood. She has a clear advantage at the weights and no issues with soft ground and a smart win at Salisbury suggests this track wont ne an issue. Looks the bet of the day for those of you who like to plunge on a solid shorty.
1pt win Fanny Logan @ 5/6

Selected York- soft ground on this flat and galloping track

Selected Chepstow- good to soft on this undulating, galloping and quite stiff track
2.10 A good contest , a Grade 2 for novice hurdles and one of last year’s top bumper horses in Thyme Hill is thrust into a hot race on his hurdles debut and would need to be slick over the obstacles to collect in this. Champagne Well is a useful type and is entitled to go close while Fiddlerontheroof has recently joined the top stable of Colin Tizzard for £200,000 !!! after landing a soft ground Navan bumper .Echiquer is an ex- French chaser whose form is just about the best on show. He may need deeper ground and a longer trip to be seen at his best, but won well for the top stable recently and the quick reappearance is interesting , at least.
¼ pt win Echiquer @ 8/1
3.20 A Class 3 novice chase and only 2 have experience over fences in Golden Sunrise and Trucker’s Lodge and the latter has the stronger form. He front runs and runs this track really well and has no issues with trip or ground. Lisnager Oscar did really well last year over hurdles but on soft ground at this trip on his debut chase, prefer the tip to probably make all .
½ pt win Trucker’s Lodge @ 3/1
3.55 A race for veterans with most of these making their seasonal reappearances with no record of running well fresh . The exception is the well handicapped Vieux lion rouge , who earlier in his career was touted as a future Grand National winner as he jumps those fences magnificently, but just didn’t have the stamina for the big day . He started last year with an excellent 2nd over the National fences on very deep ground and it took chunks out of him and was pulled up in two subsequent efforts, but did run well in the grand National until his stamina gave in. Off a good mark, he could be ready to land this winnable event .
¼ pt win Vieux Lion Rouge @ 6/1
I’m just having the one play at Dundalk- all weather- polytrack
7.15 Convara hasn’t had much racing and did well when a close 4th over C&d last time in a decent handicap off this mark and will be well ridden by Andrew Breslin in this event for apprentices . Juwella sluiced in last time but it was on soft ground at a much shorter trip, but does stay this far but unproven on the surface and is now on a stiff mark.
¼ pt win Cinvara @ 5/1
Selected Newcastle- all weather- tapeta. The track is stiff and galloping .
6.00 Short priced fav in Southern raider Paths of Glory , but is unproven ovdr C&d and also on a testing mark. Lopes Dancer won well over C&d last time returning from a break but Autretot, a close 3rd in that race should reverse the form on more favourable terms, in fact a nice ew bet at the odds to land this.
¼ pt ew Autretot @ 9/1
6.30 It’s not a deep race and a decent chance for the well treated Axe Axelrod who ran well from the front here last time and only gave best late on. The drop in trip looks a smart move.
¼ pt win Axe Axelrod @ 6/1
8.30 Home Before Dusk has a terrific record here and was only narrowly beaten ovder C&D last time in a better race, but the 3 pound hit will test. Prior to that he was 2nd , again over C&D where he had Armed , insurplus and Newmarket Warrior not far behind. That was quite a steadily run event which didn’t help the latter and with the prospect of a stronger gallop being on, and with a top apprentice riding could enhance his record at this track at very juicy odds.
½ pt ew Newmarket Warrior @ 20/1
