Today’s Fortune for a fiver
£2.50 ew double
Sevenleft 6.15 @ 5/1
Alcander 8.15 @ 9/2
Selected Fontwell- heavy ground on this sharp track
2.10 Bredon Hill lad showed a bit more like it last time and the return to this track and deep ground can only help.
1/4pt Win Bredon Hill Lad @ 3/1
Selected Catterick- probably soft ground on this sharp, undulating track.
2.20 Few are running well enough to even be of interest in this seller. I’m chancing the lightly raced youngster Darsi’s Jewel , who has showed little in novice events, but this is chunks easier and the good stable has a terrific record here.
1/4pt Win Darsi’s Jewel @ 3/1
3.20 PREMIUM RACE
3.50 The fav is the inform Commis d’Office but this tight C&D may not suit. The down in trip Greybourg is likely to front run , but not hard seeing him wanting for pace late on. Both Halcyon Days and Las Tunas come here in terrific form and the ultra reliable Halcyon Days ticks the boxes for ground and C&d but preference is for Las Tunas, who ran a belter last time under a massive penalty, and the winner has won since. If it wasn’t for the fact that he’s not run well here in the past, I’d be much more hopeful . Ubaltique cannot be ruled out and is 2 from 2 round here, but recent runs laboured.
1/2pt Win Las Tunas @ 6/1
4.20 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 Diplomate sivola is only young and is an exciting addition to the Hunter Chase ranks and should be landing this with ease before taking on some stiffer examinations, but is 4/7 .
Pointless even considering having a bet at Lingfield with 4 matches and 2 other small field affairs
Selected Kempton- all weather- polytrack
4.55 The mightily progressive and so reliable Matterhorn is a warm order to land the 5 timer. I had my doubts about him last time, but he was even more impressive than earlier. He’s been bunged up another 8 pounds, so in just his 8th ever race has a mark of 107, and we wont know until about 5.00 , if he is up to it. The chances are he could be, but there are better priced alternatives. Dark Red has not been cutting any ice in Meydan, but they have been in hot turf handicaps. He’s dropped to a good mark and worth a dabble. The very wonderful Executive force comes here on a 5 timer, but this could be a step too far.
1/4pt ew Dark Red @ 7/1
5.30 Jan Hunaman was a good thing when winning at his beloved Newcatle last time, but with a penalty is going to struggle judged on previous efforts on polytrack, so the good draw may make little difference. The lightly raced Purple Paddy did it very nicely over C&D last time and the penalty could have been harsher, but the wide draw no help. Both Jeremy’s Jet and Woggle have decent form over C&d but are both hard to win with. The veteran Runaiocht has dropped to a good mark and latest efforts none too shabby, so with Oisin murphy riding, a lively longshot.
1/4pt ew runaiocht @ 20/1
6.00 The very well bred Ironclad races in the Frankel colours and there’s plenty of confidence about a debut win as he’s an even money shot. Roma Bangkok won well on debut, but it was worryingly 6 months ago and carries the dreaded penalty. I’m Available has run well in both of her starts and a little ew play should cause little damage .
1/4pt ew I’m available @ 4/1
7.00 A vet valuable Class 2 event and a warm up for many who have some fancy entries. The odds on fav is the 4 timer seeking Jahrath , who comes here on a career best run, but it was on he Southwell fibresand . Jim Crowley has travelled from the Middle East to partner him. Many of his rivals ae unexposed and race for top stables, and happy to watch.
7.30 PREMIUM RACE
8.00 Kraka was a Members’ tip on Saturday, and was well supported going down narrowly with a mile back to the rest. Significantly he is back out quickly , with an excellent chance of compensation. He is one of the few in the field who like to take a handy pitch, so even from the wide draw, should be ideally front rank early on. It’s had to see this being a strong gallop and I fancy him to dispute and then kick on for a deserved win. Dark Magic is rarely far away , but hard to win with, as is Storm Melody while the capable Sir Ottoman could do with a longer trip.
3/4pt Win Kraka @ 9/4
8.30 Not a deep contest and a good chance for Maximum power who went close over C&D last time off the same mark, but he has had plenty of chances, small play.
1/4pt Win Maximum power @ 5/2
Selected Dundalk- all weather – polytrack
5.10 PREMIUM RACE
5.45 a tough task for the in form fav Burning Lake nudged up the weights and a poor draw and preference is for Me Well, who benefitted from the swiych to this C&D last time when just behind burning Lake , so has to be a lively longshot.
1/4pt ew Me Well @ 12/1
6.15 the majority if the fences horses are wither up in the weights or down in trip and this offers a great opportunity for the well drawn Sevenleft who ran well over a mile here last time and shorter in his favour.he was once a useful type, but wins have ben hard to come by, but is surely the one to beat tonight.
1/2pt Ew sevenleft @ 5/1
6.45 I Can fly landed a group 1 event last year and has almost a stone in hand over only serious rival Surrounding, who is a course specialist and shouldn’t be taken lightly , as last season, the O’Brien older runners took a bit of time to find their form. Small play on the upset.
1/4pt Win Surrounding @ 5/2
7.15 A valuable listed evet and aidan O’brein saddles a couple of likely types in Van Beethoven and Western Australia, and this one has at least 8 pounds in hand over his rivals. Again I’m opposing O’brien going for the progressive playa del Puente who goes for the track hat-trick and his latest win is strong form.
¼ pt win Playa Del Puente @ 3/1
7.45 so many with a chance in this bg field event for apprentice jockeys, but often in this kind of race, the pace can be false so worth siding with the consistent Lachet, who is the only front runner and could just nick this from the front.
1/4pt Win Latchet @ 9/2
8.15 Drakensburg sluiced in over C&D last time, but it was a winnable race and he’s been bunged up a stone ! the very much in form mcguigan is up another 6 pounds and another negative is the longer trip. Alcander was some way behind Mc Guigan last time , but has a big pull in the weights and the extra yardage well in his favour Looks well solid ew .
1/2pt ew Alcander @ 9/2
