Cheltenham – soft ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
1.30 The fav is the well named Champ who is a perfect 4 from 4 this year and has the best form I the race, but this is his first race on a stiff track while Battleoverdoyen is 3 from 3 this year, but it’s his first try in the mud. All of these runners ate a credit to connections with so many willing , consistent and prolific types. The nod goes to one of the least experienced in the field in Sams profile, who gave Battleoverdoyen a good race at Naas, closing well late on suggesting both the longer trip and softer ground will suit.
1/4pt Ew Sams Profile @ 10/1
2.10 Another tough race and the fav is the mightily prolific Delta work, who comes out just the best at the weights, but only just, but he is better on good ground, as is another with a good chance at the weights in The Worlds end. One who will relish the ground is the useful Santini, who is another with a great chance at the ratings. He was 3rd here last year in the 3 mile hurdle in the mud, and he’s run to an even better level over fences, and today is just his 3rd ever race over the larger obstacles. He has yesterday’s 4 mile chase hero Le Breuil well held when winning on his chase debut in the Newbury mud and did little wrong at Kempton next time where the C&D and ground were both against him.
½ pt Win Santini @ 3/1

4.10 The extraordinarily most wondeful Tiger Roll is the only horse in History to have won at the Cheltenham Festival over hurdles, fences and cross country and of course he lifted the Grand National in the mud and he comes here on the back of a win a grade 2 hurdle at Naas at the odds of 25/1, Yes, of course I was on. He won this last year on similar ground, but only had a few lengths to spare over French trained Urgent De oregaine , with the rest nowhere, but his main rival has only been seen once since and made no show and was pulled up. The double looks well and truly on for this magnificent racehorse. If you’re kind of bet is to lump on a shorty, this looks your bet for the day.
1pt Win Tiger Roll @ 6/4

5.30 I’m sitting the closing bumper out as there is just so little between all of Abrcadabra, ask for glory, envoi Allen, Meticulous and Blue sari, and you’d be lucky to get it right.
Nothing of interest at Huntingdon with mostly short priced favs which look likely to succeed
Selected Lingfield- all weather- polytrack
1.55 The front running shanghai grace finally got it right last time at Chelmsford and his mark looks about right first time in a handicap. But does have the worst of the draw and front runners are hard to judge for 7 pound claimers. Axel Jacklin only won a claimer last time and would need the stable switch to make a difference . the lightly raced Fox kasper ran ok off a higher mark last time and the drop in trip and the booking of Oisin Murphy has to help.
1/4pt Win Fox Kasper @ 7/2
2.35 Taverner has had a hectic programme of late , trying to cash in on a declining mark , and there was much more encouragement last time. He’s nor badly drawn to try and make all and top jockey Andre Arzeni rides, but he’s short enough at 3/1 so I’m playing the well drawn Holy Tiber, a good recent 2nd in higher grade.
1/4pt ew Holy Tiber @ 14/1
4.35 The favs both have question marks surrounding them as Heart of soul and Emirates Empire return from lengthy breaks, and neither have experience on the surface. Boutonnaire’s form is only modest , but stands up well In this race and open to improvement on just his 3rd race for a good stable.
1/2pt Win Bottonaire @ 9/2
5.15 Arabic Culture won really well last time, but he’s been hit with a hefty penalty, is badly drawn, drops in trip and switches surfaces, so despite this being most winnable, a bit to prove Orobas is a likeable front runner, who has the best of the draw. His recent comeback race was highly encouraging and I’m with him to make every post a winning post.
1/2pt Win Orobas @ 10/1
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
4.40 Camachess comes here on a hat-trick and I was with her lsst night when faced with a straightforward task at Wolver, but away from her best surface and also under a heft penalty, happy to take her on.Grandee Daisy runs this C&d well and only failed by a short head last time. From a good draw, this strong finisher is unlikely to be far away.Halles harbour is a recent C&D winner and did Ok off her new mark next time and is the best of the longshots
½ pt ew Grandee Daisy @ 11/2
5.45 busy Street is holding his form really well and the booking of a capable 7 pound can’t harm and I prefer him to short priced fav Ulster who has it to prove at this longer trip . few come into this with high hopes.
1/2pt Win Busy Street @ 7/2
6.15 Picture post went close over C&D last time and is well drawn to put in another good performance and hard to see him out of the frame, at least.
1/2pt ew Picture Post @ 5/1
6.45 Lee boy did well when hold up tactics were employed over C&D last time, but has bee nudged up the weights. Preference is for Dancing Jo who won well at this trip last time and the 2 pound hit could have been harsher. He has little in hand over Bugs boy, but is proven at this track.
1/4pt Win Dancing Jo @ 10/3
7.45 It’s not a deep race and offers a good opportunity for Stand N Deliver , whose gone close a few times here of late and Adam Kirby a good booking.
1/2pt Win stand n deliver @ 7/2
8.15 Qallab has run well on his last two runs off around this mark and the way he’s been finishing his races, the extra furlong looks a smart move.
1/4pt ew Qallab @ 11/1
