Today's Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles, 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Caribbean Spring 5.05 @ 9/2
alba Del Sole @ 5/1
Crosse fire 3.25 @ 7/2
Shanghai grace 3.05 @ 5/2
Selected Lingfield- all weather- polytrack
2.00 PREMIUM RACE
2.30 Hardly a deep maiden and should be a straight fight between the market leaders in Gabriella laura and Pytilia , who are both well drawn prominent racers. Pytilia has the slightly stronger form. But returns from a 5 months break and goes up in trip, which should suit. I prefer her main rival , who comes here on the back of a good 2nd at Kempton, in quite a deep race , and the return to this trip in her favour.
1/2pt Win Gabriella laura @ 11/4
3.05 shanghai grace won well over C&d last time and despite the 4 pound hit , could exploit a most winnable race.
1/2pt Win Shanghai grace @ 5/2
3.35 PREMIUM RACE
4.10 The quickest way to the poor house is backing long standing maidens, but every dog has its day and the well treated, down in grade and in form Sir gnet could finally have his day in a weak event with the favs Critical Talent and Tesorina on tough marks.
1/2pt ew Sir gnet @ 4/1
4.40 A wide open finale but the well treated Makambe has been threatening of late, and is overpriced for his chance.
1/4pt ew Makambe @ 16/1
Selected Market Rasen- good ground on this nostly flat and sharp track
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.45 This has a most winnable look to it with the back to form Star Foot up to trip that has found him out in the past and on a tough mark. Follow The Swallow doesn’t win many but had it all sewn up on similar ground at Taunton, until crashing out at the last. He was given a harsh 10 pound penalty, for not even winning, but recent efforts off this mark have not been bad and worth a try.
1/4pt ew Follow The Swallow @ 12/1
4.20 This is a red hot stayers hurdle , and all can be given a chance, but the consistent novice Redzor is on a fair mark and is fine on the ground and probably C&d.
1/4pt win Redzor @ 6/1
4.50 The in form pair of Very Extravagant and Querry Horse have a bit to prove on drying ground and I’m risking the well treated Acertain Circus, who rarely sees the racecourse nowadays, but ran well enough over C&D last time to be a factor in this.
1/4pt ew Acertain Circus @ 6/1
Market Rasen placepot
All weather- fibresand
2.20 PREMIUM RACE
2.50 the ones with experience are hardly enticing so chancing a newcomer in Ranch Hand, who runs in famous colours for top trainer Andrew Balding who has both a good record here and with newcomers winning first time of asking.
1/4pt ew Ranch hand @ 12/1
3.25 Marble Bar was mightily impressive first time over C&D last time, but a hefty penalty and the rise in grade will test . point Zero is consistent and has a good record over C&d, but with so much early pace in the field, the strong finishing Crosse fire has a great race make up and only a pound higher for winning a decent race over C&d last time.
3/4pt Win Crosse Fire @ 7/2
3.55 track star Hammer Gun bounced back to form last time, but the 5 pound hit and wide draw could catch him out. The Great Wall goes well here but this longer trip hardly sure to suit. There are a number here with good C&d form but the pair which take my eye, are both trying this surface for the first time , but come here in good form from polytrack and both of the stables do well here, but at the weights, just prefer Juanito chico over Master Diver.
1/4pt win Juanito Chico @ 6/1
4.30 The winning spree of gorgeous General came to a shuddering halt last time, off his new mark , but he did have a busy schedule at the time , so not ruled out. Liamba has solid form over C&D and is a contender but preference is for alba del sole, who wasn’t beaten far in higher grade over C&d last time and solid claims on that.
1/2pt win Albe Del Sole @ 5/1
5.05 We witnessed the excellent Simon Walker pinch a race from the front at Lingfield at the weekend and he partners the in form veteran, who’s run big races over C&d the last twice, but the wide draw and other front runners in the field leans me towards Caribbean Spring , who is 1 from 1 here and comes here in good form
1/2pt win Caribbean Spring @ 9/2
Kempton – all weather- polytrack
5.30 those with experience have not showed much and significant support for the well bred newcomer who runs for a good stable. Only 7/4 , so happy to watch.
6.00 Lehoog ran well on his only start last year but it was on turf, six months ago , and today’s longer trip on synthetics, not sure at all to suit from the worst of the draw. Glory also returns from a 6 months break and is another with decent turf form but a bit to prove on the surface. Dargel is another returning from a 6 months break, but ran well when fancied in the Newbury mud, there are all weather winners in the family and nicely drawn.
1/4pt Win Dargel @13/2
6.30 A low grade affair and the fav Dawn Commando has the bes recent form and is well drawn to try and make all . Just about worth a bet.
1/4pt Win dawn Commando @ 2/1
7.00 A vet similar race and the in form veteran Tellevoi , is well drawn to try and make all, and could take some catching .
1/2pt win Tellevoi @ 13/2
7.30 Lothario reversed C&d form with Baateq in no uncertain way last time and despite a 4 pound hike, this looks within range of this improver, especially from a good draw , while his old rival has not been as lucky in this department . Not a deep race.
3/4pt Win lothario @ 5/2
8.00 The reliable Corazon Esquiano didn’t show much on his recent comeback race, and is not well drawn, but has been well backed, Call Out loud is the likely front runner and is holding his form well. With a good apprentice riding looks a nice ew bet, with Unforgiving minute and Poetic Force clear dangers.
1/4pt ew Call Out loud @ 6/1
8.30 Cappananty Con ran well last time at Chelmsford , finishing alongside the in form Enthaar, but his rival has a poor drae while the tip should be running a big race from the best of the draw under a top rider.
1/4pt Ew Cappananty Con @ 6/1
