Selected Newcastle- good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
1.30 Lasttin Memories is a consistent soul who runs this C&D well on the ground and looks very likely to be in the mix again.
½ pt ew Lastin Memories
3.20 A big ask for the back to form veteran Casual Cavalier, up in the weights and trip. A good pace is assured with the back to form Purple Harry sure to go hard from flagfall, but up in grade and 8 pound in the weights, would do very well to stay there. This track may well not help the back to form No No Mac, while the longer trip could well catch out another last time winner in Iskabeg lane. The consistent Incholm has to go close , but preference is for the strong staying Knockomona, back over fences and his best trip.
1/4pt ew Knockomona @ 9/1
3.55 There’s going to be a mad scatter for early domination with all of Altruism, aristo du Plessis, ninepointsixthree and Beyond temptation all intent on an early lead. This can only harm all of their chances and offers a great chance for the useful Cornerstone Lad, despite the tough mark. Manamite has won 2 of his last 3 , but the 10 pound hit will test.
½ pt win Cornerstone Lad @ 3/1
4.30 A tricky event where all have a chance of sorts and the nod goes to dual track winner Pain Au Chocolate, now down to a good mark. The realiable The Paddy Pie will once again give his supporters a good run for their money
1/4pt Win Pain Au Chocolate @ 8/1
Aintree- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.45 Vive Le Roi landed 3 wins earlier in the season , making all determinedly each time. He may well not have his own way up front, but his last win gives him a really good shout off this mark. All of is wins have come on speed tracks, and has to be worth a play at astronomic odds.
¼ pt ew Vive Le Roi @ 40/1
2.25 A wide open Grade 1 hurdle and angels Breath still has a bit to prove as far as I.’ m concerned and prefer to look elsewhere. Brewingupastorm ran well to be 4th at Cheltenham , but is held by the consistent Kateson on Newbury form . Gordon Elliott sadlles the prolific Chosen Mate and the longer trip could see an even better performance but the nod goes to one To Rosie, who looked good winning at Warwick, and ran a blinder when a narrow 2nd in the Sandown mud , where neither the track nor the ground would have suited. This C&D with drying ground will suit him and a big run looks on. Umbtigado is 3 from 3 this year, and hasn’t broken sweat yet, hard to rule out.
½ pt win One For Rosie @ 11/2
3.00 All of Clondaw Castle, Destrier, Knockanuss and Ornua are right tearaways in the early stages and can only harm each other’s chances . This leaves us with just 3 and despite Caid Du lin going up in class , could surprise at long odds, but this is likely to be a battle between Lalor And Us And then. It’s a case of will the real Lalor turn up. He’s 2 from 2 at this track, which stands for plenty and when he won his chase fist time over fences , he rocketed to the top of the betting in The Arkle, but ran just Ok at Sandown and comes here on the back of a pulled up at Cheltenham, where he never featured. Us and them came from a long way back at Cheltenham , and in the end was a clear 2nd. His recent win record is not good, but wont have any excuses today.
½ pt win Us and them @ 10/3

5.15 The Grand National 2019
You can make a case for over half of the field , but I’ve boiled it down to four
One of the most versatile and talented horses of all time over jumps and comes into this on the back of a demolition job in the Cross Country event at Cheltenham and before that landed a good quality hurdle on ground quicker than ideal and over a trip way short of his best. He has looked a better horse than last year , and needs to be to retain his crown off a 10 pound higher mark , and his odds are predictably cramped, but looks sure to feature.
1pt win Tiger Roll @ 9/2
He’ll have no problems staying this trip as he is former winner of the 4 mile chase at Cheltenham, which he won on deep ground , and we’ve only seen him twice since. He warmed up for this with an impressive win and is on a good mark. Representing top connections of Mullins/ Walsh , looks another with strong claims.
1/2pt ew Rathvinden @ 10/1
Ramses de Teillee
He’s a cracking racehorse and as he’s only a 7yo, has his best years to come . He is as tough as teak and will relish the deep ground. He was 2nd in the Welsh National, and wasn’t stopping, so is likely to last the extra yardage . He’s new to these fences and is a quick jumper, so a slight concern these fences may prove his undoing, but still a player at nice odds.
1/2 pt ew Ramses de Teillee @ 22/1
Walk in the Mill
He was mighty impressive when winning over these fences in the mud before Christmas , and just kept galloping , looking like he could have gone round again, which he almost needs to do as he goes up markedly in trip, but his profile has National contender stamped all over it. His two subsequent efforts have been over inadequate trips over fences and hurdles and looks the best of the longshots.
½ pt ew Walk in the Mill @ 28/1
I’ll be playing these 4 in small take rev fcs & tricasts

Selected Lingfield- all weather- polytrack
2.00 Can a 5 pound penalty stop the prolific First Link from landing yet another win over C&D. From an Ok draw against modest rivals, I think not.
¾ pt win First link @ 7/4
2.25 the bookies make this a match but despite the penalty , Lestrade looks to hold a much stronger chance than the disappointing Mawsool.
3/4pt Win Lestrade @ 10/11
3.10 The once decent Sotomayor has plummeted in the weights and came good over C&D last time, but this will be tougher up in grade and the weights. This is not a deep race and I like the chance of the front running Berrahri , especially at juicy odds.
1/2pt Win Berrahri @ 15/2
4.15 Quite an open low grade sprint , but the consistent Prominna goes well here and is weighted to be bang in the mix again.
¼ pt ew prominna @ 8/1
Selected Chepstow- good to soft on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.15 Most of these have ost the winning habit but the down in trip and well weighted Jimmy Bell, ran well here last time and the shorter trip will suit.
¼ pt ew Jimmy Bell @ 6/1
2.50 I gave Parlour Maid a good chance last time but she struggled on the Exeter mud. Her previous form gives her a far better chance than the odds suggest .
¼ pt ew Parlour Maid @ 14/1
3.30the reliable Khage won over C&D last time on similar ground and looks a very solid fav to double up.
¾ pt win Khage @ 4/5
4.05 pop Rockstar has threatened a few times to land races off around this mark. He has run well here before and this could be his day.
