Daffy Jane 3.25 @ 11/1
Machree 5.45 @ 11/1
Consequences 5.20 @ 9/1
Newmarket- good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
1.50 Franz Kappa has clearly the best form , but there has been a lot of confidence behind newcomer Far above, who is now the 5/4 fav. Quite a cheap foal, his price rocketed as a yearling, which is often a good sign, but experience for me.
¼ pt win Franz Kappa @ 2/1
2.25 The only juvenile with experience is Strong Power, who was fancied on debut and ran really well at Donny to be 2nd of 17 and the 3rd and 4th have won since, so the form is pretty strong. He is likely to put his experience to good use , but Godolphin run four in this !
½ pt win Strong Power @ 5/2
3.00 The short priced fav is Almasheiq, who is 1 from 1, but it came on the Newcastle tapeta , and the level of form is way below the rest in the field, but is likely to be better than he showed, but still good reasons to look elsewhere. Fox champion has won 2 from 3 and a good run from Frank Kapka in the first will boost hopes as he beat him well at Donny, with the rest well beaten. He made all that day and with SDS in the saddle, looks the most likely candidate to lead and could take some catching . Almufti had some good form last year , as did Dirty Rascal, but on soft ground.
½ pt win Fox Champion @ 11/4
3.35 Breden and Beringer come here on the back of excellent efforts in the Lincoln dead heating for 3rd and big runs are on the cards today from both . The pace is a query in this and the down in trip and progressive Protected Guest could well take them along, and this stayer could steal a march if left alone, but at the odds I’m with Godolphin’s Bedouin’s story , who comes here on the back of a series of solid efforts at Meydan in hot handicaps.
¼ pt ew Bedouin’s story @ 12/1
4.10 A group 3 for older horses and the fav is the disappointing Elarqam , who is still one of the top rated in the field, but was entitled to do better a number of times last year. Forest Ranger won this last year. but his recent run at Meydan was most discouraging where he was way behind First Contact, one of three Godolphin runners in this and comes here on the back of two big runs in Meydan and has improved since front running. Could take some catching.
¼ pt win First Contact @ 7/1
4.45 On The Warpath hasn’t been with Godolphin very long and landed a valuable handicap at Meydan last time from Mubtasim, and on today’s terms it will be close between this pair today, but the tip is lightly raced so capable of a bit more.
¼ pt win On The Warpath @ 9/2
5.20 A wide open sprint handicap with a number of front runners , so the stronf stayers may take charge late on. Consequences has his first run for Ian Williams and his first since losing his undegear. He’s on a good mark and stays further than this. I like the booking of William Buick who has a good record for this stable.
½ pt winConsequences @ 9/1
A massive day for followers of my placepot picks yesterday at Newmarket. Just 18 bets advised and 6 successful. The dividend was £113, but we get 6 times that , so just short of £680 for £18 ! if that stake is too rich for your money, you can play smaller unit stakes.
Selected Cheltenham- good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.50 PREMIUM RACE
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
4.55 Only 6 go and the race is pretty east to read as the front running Whatduhavetoget will try to make all , but the down in trip pair, Pique Rock and Northern Beau are also sure to get involved early so hard to see ant of these three breaking free. Hard to fancy Cotton Jenny but the very wonderful Alizee De Janeiro 5 wins in her last 7 , will make a right fist of it, but is now on a very testing mark and she is a Kelso specialist, not at all like Cheltenham and the Grand National winning trainer is 0 from 19 here ! This leaves us with the very excellent Happy Diva, who always runs her race and took a rare fall last time. Her mark is well manageable and despite dropping down in trip, this will be run at such a pace, her stamina will kick in and I expect a clear win.
¾ pt win Happy Diva @ 2/1

Selected Ripon- good to firm on this undulating and quick track
2.50 Sundiata has been going well on the all weather, but rather just watch her on turf on a tough enough mark. Tie A yellowribbon is consistent and ran well at Newcastle on the tapeta, but has good enough form to be a feature in this.
¼ pt ew tie A Yellowribbon @ 9/1
3.25 Despite the big field not many make appeal on current form or on drying ground. The bang in form Kupa River won well at Leicester last time on similar ground, but drops in trip and on a quicker track, but is drawn well and has to be respected . Daffy Jane was most progressive last year , winning 3 times and in 5 runs here has a win and 3 places. She took a bit of time to get her act together last year, and the draw could have been kinder, but given her progressive profile and at tasty odds, has to be a decent bet.
¼ pt ew Daffy Jane @ 11/1
4.00 It’s hardly a deep contest and the consistent and progressive Epaulement is the one to beat, but the bookies agree.
1/4 pt win Epaulement @ 2/1
4.35 Alkameek comes her e on the back of a successful, series on the all weather, but is now on a tough mark and a bit to prove on quick turf. Idealogical runs for a strong Southern stable , but is another switching to turf, as too are the in form pair of Mustadun and Metatron , but the latter appears overpriced for his chance and at nice odds, worth the risk.
¼ pt ew Metatron @ 11/1
5.10 Not a deep maiden and an odds on shot in Sir John Priestley, who has the best form, but stamina for this trip not assured. Global Express ran well on his only run last year, but looks a very doubtful stayer on pedigree. Arthur Pendragon was a £130,000 yearling and did Ok on debut at Leicester, which makes him a nice ew bet in this.
¼ pt ew Arthur Pendragon @ 11/1
5.45 Machree has a highly progressive profle and also has a win over C&D on her CV. She returns from a break today , and may need the race, but this looks winnable.
¼ pt ew Machree @ 11/1
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather- polytrack
5.25 Copacabana Dance showed plenty of speed on debut when running a good 5th on turf and from a good draw and a pedigree suiting this surface is taken to put his experience to good use, Archie Watson has made a terrific start with his 2yos so debutante Frida Karlo has to be feared.
¼ pt win Copacabana Dancer @ 5/1
6.00 The mightily consistent Chloellie , 4 wins and a 2nd from her last 6 runs , has a rare away day from her beloved Kempton , but has also won here. Her mark looks manageable but does have the worst of the draw, so would do extremely well to add to her total. The ex-Irish Gunmaker ran very well on his first run for Ruth Carr , but is another badly drawn. The well drawn pair of Pearl spectre and sonnet Rose have bits of form making them of interest but the nod goes to the in form It Must Be Faith, who’s on a good mark and goes well here. Very lively longshot.
¼ pt ew It Must Be Faith @ 25/1
6.30 Glenn Coco goes well here and goes for a hat-trick, but would do very well to achieve it up in the ratings and from the worst of the draw. Qaroon ended last season with a win, but looks to have little to spare off his current mark. Maksab had a busy and productive time of it last year and returned from a break to win very well at Lingfield at this trip. He couldn’t be faulted next time when only 7th at Kempton, but had other front runners to contend with and had the worst of the draw, He has a good race make up for a front runner tonight and has clear claims in this line up, but his programme is totally different from last year, suggesting he may not be able to take much racing now. He’s had a break of 7 weeks, which is a lot longer than usual/ I’m still playing as the odds are right. Danger is the well handicapped Whitefountainfairy, who is in decent form ,well drawn, but stamina to prove, but races as it wont be a problem.
¼ pt ew Maksab @ 9/1
7.00 An odds on fav is Shareef Star and finding it hard to work out why he’s such a strong fav. As he’s been well beaten in both runs at this trip. The likeable Michelle Strogoff is bound to gallop off and try to make all , and is now back to his last winning mark. I’m with him to make all.
1/4pt ew Michelle Strogoff @ 8/1
7.30 Precious Plum won really well over C&d last time from a similar wide draw,so can’t be ruled out despite the draw and penalty. Admiral Rooke was not beaten far over C&D last time and from a good draw he’s likely to be front rank all the way and can stay on the best.
¼ pt ew Admiral Rooke @ 9/2
8.00 Seeusion is the short priced fav but not on a generous mark , and could be close between him and Lord Lammington racing over a more appropriate trip.
8.30 Only 3 go but you can make a good case for each. An easy swerve .
