Today’s Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles, 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Little Windmill 4.45 @ 7/2
Braid blue 1.50 @ 7/4
Eur Gone West 3.00 @ 3/1
Crossed Batons 3.55 @ 6/1
Selected Fontwell- good to firm on this sharp track
Just having the one bet here.
3.45 Drying ground a concern for most of these and in form veteran Here’s Herbie, who I tipped up last time winning on easy ground at Exeter, has a mountain to climb with his penalty. The fav is the hard to win with and of late pretty lethargic Stowaway Magic and significantly wears first time blinkers, which underlines how desperate the stable is with him as they have failed to win in 14 times using the blinds first time. I gave Geno a strong chance in his latest race at Market Rasen, but in the end ran just a fair race , but he did use up plenty of petrol early on, Gets the nod.
½ pt win Geno @ 3/1
Selected Perth- good ground on this flat and quick track
1.50 Braid Blue landed a bumper here on good ground in the Autumn , beating one who did well in subsequent races. The return to good ground is very much in his fsvour after struggling over hurdles on easy ground, but still doing enough to be clearly the one to beat in this.
¾ pt win Braid Blue @ 7/4
3.00 A quality Class 1 stayers event for young hurdlers , and very little between all 6 at the weights, but hat-trick seeker Eur Gone west comes out slightly best and you had to be impressed with his good ground win at Taunton, which is encouraging for today’s C&D.. He’s likely to take these along and The David Pipe stable has a terrific record of 12 from 22 making this 900 mile round trip. Really fancy an all the way win.
¾ pt win Eur Gone West @ 3/1
3.30 If there is any justice the consiatent and willing grey Valadon will finally nail one, but he’s been nudged up the weights and grade and may not be alone up front with More Bucks in the field, but with the in form Special Prep now on a testing mark around a C&D unlikely to suit and with the majority of others not coming here in great form, could be his day. If Walt could return to his excellent win at Kempton av few runs back, he would take a deal of beating, but comes here on the back of a pulled up, admittedly on unfavourable soft ground.
¼ pt win Valadon @ 9/2
4.35 This has a winnable look to it and giving the capable Petitville another chance as he’s one of the few in the field on a good mark and will be fine at the trip and ground.
¼ pt win Petitville @ 4/1
Selected Epsom- good to firm on this sharp, undulating and tricky track
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
2.45 Aidan O’Brien’s Cape of Good hope has the form to take this Class 1 event, but has been easy in the market today, but still looks the one to beat.
1/ 4 pt win Cape of Good Hope @ 11/4
3.20 PREMIUM RACE
3.55 Crossed Baton won the Class 1 event this day last year and was then set an ambitious programme by his top trainer, racing pretty well in Group company, but did end the season with a tame one. He’s had a wind-op , and the stable ‘s record with those having the surgery , is 2 from 5 !, So this classy type could be the proverbial Group horse in a handicap.
½ pt win Crossed Baton
Selected Southwell- good ground on this flat and sharp track
4.45 Nice to see the likeable Little Windmill bounce back to form last time returning from a break. As he’d been pulled up in his 4 previous runs, but prior to that had rattled up a sequence of 3 wins and 2 places from 5 fast ground starts. He remains on a tough enough mark, but this welling front runner will be hard to catch around this sharp track .
½ pt win Little Windmill @ 7/2
5.20 Johnny Yuma was a ready winner at Hexham last time but the penalty and the return to a speed track could catch him out. Anti Cool showed his best form for a while lsst tim , and is taken to go one better today in a weak heat.
¼ pt win Anti Cool @ 11/4
6.20 Quite a competitive stayers hurdle but the fav Point N Shoot looks vulnerable with his massive hefty 11 pound penalty after just winning in his turn in lower grade. Likeable veteran Riddlestown has a good record here and comes into the race in good form over fences, but back over hurdles , this wont be easy . Flying Verse is 2 from 2 over C&D on good ground and returned to action recently with a good effort. He’s a little high in the weights, but looks sure to go well.
½ pt win Flying Verse @ 5/1
7.20 the drying ground is no help to last time winner Manofthemoment while the drop in trip wont help the consistent Midnight Aurora. The lightly raced Just Call Me All was in with every chance until taking a late fall over C&D and this ground last time out , and while that was only a modest contest, ability to act on tis track is a big plus here.
¼ pt win Just Call Me All @ 7/2
Good ground currently, but keep an eye on the going with plenty of rain forecast.
The track is flat and sharp
5.30 I tipped up Rose to Fame to win at long odds last tie where she had little to spare over Jaunty Soria, and neither would welcome rain, so the consistent Powerful Society could get a deserved win as she has a decent chance at the weights, handles easy ground and goes well over C&D.
¼ pt win Powerful society @ 11/4
7.00 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Dundalk- all weather- polytrack
7.10 The lightly race Han Solo did well over C&D last time finishing strongly to be a close 3rd. A moe positive ride could help him break his duck in a winnable contest.
¼ pt win Han Solo @ 11/4
8.40 Plenty of track regulars here but I’m with veteran Red All Star who was not far behind Tynamite and Bellick , when getting the run of the race from the front and keeping on bravely. Not a bad draw tonight and likely to have a pretty easy time of things up front, and with a pull in the weights over his old two rivals, nice longshot.
¼ p ew Red All Star @ 12/1
No Dundalk placepot
