£5 double- pays just under £100
Las Tunas 3.00 @ 5/1
Coopers Square 2.35 @ 9/4
Selected Beverley- currently good to form, but heavy showers forecast. So could change
The track is still and galloping
2.50 The flying Bosham is sure to bomb out and has dropped to a good mark and has run well here before, so no forlorn hope despite the wide draw. The in form trio of Johnny Cavagan, Musharrif and Miningold all have claims , but the latter just gets the nod as he comes here in tremendous form from the Southwell fbresand, but has won over C&D on quick turf and is well drawn for a late push. His mark is creeping up, but his previous peak mark makes it look manageable.
¼ pt win Miningold @ 9/2
3.20 A small field but a difficult 3yo handicap to unravel, as none have tried a test as stiff as this. Chances have to be given to all of Motafaawat, Nefarious, King Of Tara and Kuwait Station and I’m with the latter , as he’s overpriced for his chance.
¼ pt win Kuwait Station @ 12/1
3.55 Dragon Sun was an easy winner on the polytrack on his comeback spin, but ran disappointingly on turf last year. Defence Treaty showed promise a few times last year , runs in famous colours for a top stable and worth an interest .
¼ pt win Defence Treaty @ 7/2
4.25 This has a winnable look to it and despite being hard to win with, Mont Royal ticks more boxes than most and has run well here before, and wont mind any rain.
¼ pt ew Mont Royal @ 8/1
4.55 Kylie Rules sluiced in on her first start for Ruth Carr over C&D and despite a 5 pound hit, has to have claims of the double. Stringybark Creek goes well here and only just failed last time . he’s been nudged up 2 pounds, but still a better chance than most.
¼ pt ew Stringybark Creek @ 7/1
Selected Perth – good ground on this flat and quick track
1.50 Not a deep event and The Irish raider Rakhine State has the form to take this, but is not the most straight forward. Snookered is a consistent soul, who finds it tough getting his nose in front, but hat could change today.
¼ pt win Snookered @ 4/1
2.25 A strong pace is assured with the likeable pair of Foxtrot Hill and Theflyingportrait confirmed front runners, but as Foxtrot Hill drops in trip and has a rare run right handed, Theflyingportrait could get an easier lead than expected. If they do go hammer and tongs from flagfall, they are unlikely to keep it going and the main beneficiary is the useful Marracudja, but not for me at evens.
¼ pt win The Flying Portrait @ 13/2
3.00 Las Tunas has taken off over fences of late on good ground and switches to hurdles on a 4 pound lower mark than his latest chase win. He has to be a good bet at attractive odds.
¾ pt win Las Tunas @ 5/1
3.30 The trip is the worry for both Nuts Well and Saint Leo while the back to form Wicked Willy switches to fences, but when last over the larger obstacles looked uncpmfortable. Piton Pete is reasonably handicapped and in form , so a nice ew bet.
¼ pt ew Piton Pete @ 8/1
4.05 From eden was well supported at Ayr going up in trip and sluiced in. This longer trip is unlikely to be an issue , and this unexposed sort worth the risk with the 9 pound penalty.
1/2 pt win From Eden @ 11/4
5.10 Quite an open finale with chances given to many, but the nod just goes to Rizzardo, who went close in his handicap debut on similar ground and trip.
¼ pt win Rizzardo @ 5/1
Selected Warwick- good ground on this flat and sharp track. Rain is forecast, so keep a check on any going changes.
2.00 This is very weak and should be a first win for My Charity, but this inconsistent sort not an attractive bet at short odds.
2.35 Cooper’s Square has taken off since going handicap chasing at staying trips, winning 5 of his last 6 and the other was an unlucky unseat. He has a very good attitude and is determined in the finish. The 6 pound hit for his latest win could have been worse and is very fair odds to extend his win series In a modest heat.
¾ pt win Cooper’s Square @ 9/4
3.40 the drop in trip and the switch to fences are unlikely to change the hard to win with Ardera Cross’ fortunes, while Cruiserweight is another hard to win with and also drops in trip.Great chance for Glance Back to possibly make all.
½ pt win Glance Back @ 7/2
4.15 Barney dwan tends to run his race despite a testing mark and this is a bit easier than what he usually contends.
¼ pt win Bsrney Dwan @ 4/1
4.45 If the rains do come it will be very much in the favour of relentless galloper Coppefacejack who has a C&D win on easy ground on his CV. Ran well for a long way on his recent comeback race on unsyitable ground.
¼ pt win Copperfacejack @ 10/1
No advice from Tipperary, unfamiliar with the horses
No advice from Kempton- no point having a bet in such small fields all winners likely to be short odds.
Chelmsford City- all weather- polytrack
5.30 The clear form horse is Singing The Blues, 3 wins and a 2nd in his last 4 and worth supporting again tonight. He was 2nd off around this mark last time and no issues with C&D and Oisin Murphy rides. He;s up against a few progressive ones, but still a fair bet .
½ pt win Singing the Blues @ 7/2
6.00 Short priced fav in Hero Hero, who was a beaten fav on his only start last year and better can be expected from this £300,000 purchase. His bare form is not as strong as Dominus and there are two likely newcomers in Ice Cave and jubiloso, so looks a deep maiden and could be worth following those that run well. Happy to watch.
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 A good quality Class 2 event, with most of these useful performers having a rare try on polytrack. Foxtrot Lady had a terrific season last year winning 4 times and despite having a bit to find at the weights and also being new to the surface, she’s a most determined sort who’ll give us a good run at nice odds.
¼ pt win Foxtrot Lady @ 7/1
7.30 PREMIUM RACE
8.00 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 Pearl Spectre is now approaching veteran status, but can still cut a dash and runs this C&D well. He’s at his best when allowed to dominate which looks on in this field from a good draw. Could surprise.
¼ pt ew Pearl Spectre @ 11/1
9.00 PREMIUM RACE
