Selected Nottingham- good ground on this flat and galloping track
2.00 Space blues impressed when winning over C&D on debut last season and backed that up with a very decent effort in Group company. He has a lot in hand on the ratings , but does carry the dreaded penalty and has a couple of capable rivals in Fifth position and Rhythmic Intent. The lattee was a very costly purchase for this stable and ran well enough over C&d last year to suggest there are races to be won with him this season. Tough task against the fav but very solid ew.
1/2pt ew Rhythmic intent @ 8/1
3.05 Isango has some Ok turf form in the book and comes here on the back of a good win at Wolver, practically making all. She’s 3 pounds higher for that narrow victory, but could well come on for the run and nice odds where nothing else really sticks out.
½ pt ew Isango @ 9/1
3.35 Hateya was a most progressive filly last year and despite now being on a very testing mark, has the form In the book to land this winnable Class 3 and fitness is assured after an encouraging comeback spin.
¼ pt win Hateya @ 11/2
4.05 cuban Sun stepped up on previous with an excellent recent 2nd over C&D behind Mayfair Spirit who followed up well next time out. She’s nicely drawn for a prominent racer and well overpriced for her chance.
½ pt win Cuban Sun @ 14/1
4.35 Champagne Champ comes here on the back of a demolition job over hurdles at FFos las on good ground and looks a most solid fav.
1/2pt Win champagne Champ @ 7/4
5.10 Free love was a cosy if surprise winner over C&d on her comeback run just getting the better of khafooq and would do well to confirm form on worse terms, but the 3rd horse ran poorly last time in a race where key To Power ran her race finishing a good 3rd . this could be her day as the fav, Converter has a bit to prove down In trip.
¼ pt win Key To Power @ 9/2
Selected Brighton- good to firm on this undulating, sharp and tricky track
1.50 A competitive sprint but like the look of C&D winner Little Boy Blue, who holds his form well and will welcome a race run at a strong pace, which is likely here.
¼ pt win Little Boy Blue @ 9/2
2.55 Looks a match between the in form pair of Nabbeyl and Agent Basterfield, who both go up in trip and neither proven on this kind of track, but this is an easier task for the selection.
¼ pt win Nabbeyl @ 13/8
3.55 False Id sluiced in at Leicester at the weekend when given a prominent ride, but under a penalty and over a C&d which has tested him before, happy to take on. Aqua Libre holds his form well and goes well on quick ground and worth chancing on this tricky track.
1/2 pt ew Aqua Libre @ 7/1
5.00 Veteran Roy Rocket has 9 career wins and all have come here,, but he has raced here 27 times, but still a pretty good percentage. This trip is on the sharp side for him but ran ok Over C&d on his comeback race in higher grade.
¼ pt win Roy Rocket @ 5/1
Selected Yarmouth- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.15 The lightly raced Take it Down Under sluiced in over C&d last time and is odds on for the double, despite that race being a modest affair. Oud Metha bridge has a good record here and his comeback spin was encouraging , but jockey booking not positive.
¼ pt ew Oud Metha Bridge @ 8/1
3.15 Not much between all 4 but preference is for Rochester house , a ready winner at this trip last time on quick turf.
½ pt win Rochester House @ 11/4
3,45 The usually reliable The Night King should have done better last time , but it was in higher grade. He ran very well on turf two starts ago which gives him very strong claims in a weak heat, but worried about Tom Queally in the saddle on a long losing run.
½ pt ew The Night King @ 6/1
5.25 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Punchestown – good ground on this undulating and galloping track
4.20 The Grade 1 novice Champion Hurdle and willie Mullins runs 4 of the 6 , all very useful types, but at the odds happy to play the English raider in Nicky Henderson’s champagne platinum who on official figures has plenty to find with all of these , but he is 3 from 3 , hardly broken sweat in any of them and comes here a fresh horse having avoided hard races at Cheltenham and Aintree
¼ pt win Champagne Platinum @ 10/1
4.55 a most winnable handicap and a decent chsnce csn be given to the Willie Mullins youngster in La sorelita, who hasn’t reached the heights her early races suggested she could , but could exploit a handy mark.
¼ pt ew La Sorelita @ 7/1
5.30 The Champion Chase and Willie Mullins saddles the top 3 in the betting , all very useful types, but this race is a right puzzle. The odds on fav is Min, who is very good on his day which he showed in the Aintree mud, but had previously disappointed at Cheltenham. He’s had two hard races and drying round not ideal. He also likes to dominate, as do the other Mulins pair in Great Field, who has a few questions to answer after two falls in a light programme and the once top class Un De scaux, who would prefer softer ground. As they are with different owners, they could seriously damage each others chance by taking each other on. Happy to watch this one.
6.40 PREMIUM RACE
7.15 A massive field for this bumper, but experience counts for plenty and front View’s 2nd on debut is useful form. He was travelling very well last time until taking an unlucky slip and lost his jockey. Derek O’Connor is a very positive jockey booking and will do for me. Both zambezi Fix and the west Awaits run for strong stables in famous colours and both have top riders on their debuts.
½ pt win Front View @ 3/1
Selected Newcastle- all weather- tapeta
The track is stiff and galloping
4.45 I was with Midnight Vixen when she won here last time and can double up off a well workable mark. Longer trip is no problem for this prominent racer and sure to go well.
½ pt win Midnight Vixen @ 9/2
5.20 The very wonderful Rey loopy just doesn’t know how to run a bad race and his last 6 runs here have resulted in 3 wins and 3 seconds. He’s 3 pounds higher today and drops in trip so would do vey well to go in again and he’s unlikely to have his ideal strong pace to come off . the most prominent runner is likely to be the inform track specialist in Chosen world and I’m with him to possibly make all.
1/ 2 pt win Chosen World @ 4/1
6.30 This has a very winnable look to it and chancing the lightly raced Born In Throne in his first handicap for a stable that does well here and also has plenty of success, at long odds, switching t=into handicap company.
¼ pt ew Born in Thorne @ 12/1
7.40 Testa Rossa is getting no younger but is still running well at this, his favourite track He’s dropped to a good mark and the return to this trip in his favour . he’s a hold up type which may be a disadvantage with no recognised front runner, but still a very nice ew bet .
½ pt ew Testa Rossa @ 11/1
Selected Chelmsford City- all weather- polytrack
5.15 The fav is Blyton Lass who comes out the best at the weights and has winning form over C&d, but last few runs below her best and has the worst of the draw. The consistent Foxbrush Take time is well drawn and going well but I’m going for a longshot in Ronni Layne who went close over C&D last year in a far better race over C&D.
¼ pt ew Ronni Layne @ 33/1
5.45 The veteran Clement has done well since joining Marjorie Fifes stable and while his run at the weekend was a step backwards, it was an experiment on quick turf , which plainly didn’t work. He;s on a high enough mark but Megan Nicholls’ 5 pounds claim helps and for once well drawn .
½ pt win Clement @ 5/1
6.55 A tricky small field handicap but the well treated salt whistle Bay ran Ok here last time in better grade and could be good enough.
¼ pt win Salt Whistle Bay @ 4/1
8.00 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 Not a race for a big punt, a bog field low grade affair, but Freesia Gold has some decent form on the surface in better grade and a nice longshot
¼ pt ew Freesia Gold @ 16/1
