Today's not really a " Fortune" for Fiver
£5 treble pays £47
Strong Power 2.3.5 @ 5/4
Mutaraffa 4.45 @ 5/4
City Island 6.05 @ 5/4
Selected Lingfield- good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
2.35 Strong Power ran really well on debut and looked sure to collect at Newmarket , but was run down late on , where the uphill finish found him out. This speed track is very much in his favour and despite a couple of likely newcomers in the field, is likely to put his experience to good use and take some beating.
¾ pt win Strong Power @ 5/4
3.35 Sheila’s Showcase won well at this trip last year and ran well for a long way on his comeback spin and will appreciate the step back up in trip.
¼ pt ew Sheila’s Showcase @ 9/1
4.10 A weak contest and while Kachumba was entitled to do a bit better on her comeback spin at her beloved Brighton, she will improve for the run an SDS rides.
½ pt win Kachumba @ 3/1
4.45 Mutaraffa showed a stack fo early pace on his recent debut at Newmarket, only weakening late on. The drop in trip will surely suit this sprint bred as will this speed track. Fancy he’ll be away and gone.
¾ pt win Mutaraffa @ 5/4
Selected Chepstow – good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.15 Plenty of good stable run lightly race types open to improvement and happy to play one of the longshots in Global Falcon who ran a solid race last time at Windsor , giving the impression that the longer trip will suit.
¼ pt ew Global Falcon @ 14/1
2,45 Not a strong event and Poet’s Magic’s recent 3rd at this trip is th stand put piece of form. Only doubt is this very different type of track and the good stable’s success rate here is most modest .
¼ pt win Poet’s Magic @ 5/2
5.00 Late Shipment was nibbled at when returning to form over hurdles here and backed up with a decent effort at a track which didn’t suit. He’s on an excellent mark and any rain would be very welcome. This is a not a deep race so at good odds worth a decent play.
½ pt ew Last Shipment @ 16/1

Selected Musselburgh- good ground on this flat, galloping and quick track
2.25 Burmese Blazer always runs this track well and despite going up in grade, looks a nice ew play. The downgraded Abel Handy has the draw bur does he has the pace for this flying five .
¼ pt ew Burmese Blazer @ 7/1
2.55 A weak event and the double looks on for Coolagh Forest , but we wont get rich.
½ pt win Coolagh Prince @ 5/6
3.25 Another weak contest and at this trip the reliable Claire Underwood can get the better of Everything for You.
¾ pt win Claie Underwood @ 7/4
4.00 A tricky small field handicap but the well treated Strongsay comes out the best at the weights and trip.
¼ pt win Strongsay @ 4/1
4.35 Another tricky event but the consistent Jacob Black runs this C&D well and comeback spin was Ok .
½ pt win Jacob Black @ 9/2
Selected Punchestown- good to soft on this undulating and galloping track
4.55 Understandable to a degree that Ask Susan is a warm order on just her 2nd start for the maestro Willie Mullins. Her comeback spin was Ok but far better can be expected back over fences, but 7/4 looks mighty short. Carnspindle has been slowly finding her form and has dropped to a winning mark. This English raider looks a nice longshot.
¼ pt ew Carnspindle @ 20/1
5.30 The Punchestown Champion Hurdle and a chance for wondermare Apples Jade to land another Grade 1 success. She is highly versatile as It comes to trip and comes here on the back of a brave 3rd at Aintree at 3 miles, but it effective at this much shorter trip. She was the fav for the Champion Hurdle , but was put out of her stride early on by being taken on early doors by Melon , which could very well happen todayand Petite Mouhoir is another known for front running, so all in all, she has a poor race make up. None so dual Champion Hurdler Boveir d’air , who fell at Chelteham and was turned over at short odds at Aintree by a back to form Supersundae, but that was over a longer trip in the mud. I can see him sluicing in today with a great race make up for a late player and with the ground in his favour.
¾ pt ew Buveir D’Air @ 7/4
6.05 The very wonderful City Island, who should be unbeaten over hurdles, but lost unluckily in the Stewards Room , comes here on the back of a great win in the Ballymore at Cheltenham, beating the useful Champ , who went on to win at Aintree. All ground, trip and track come the same to this wonderful young hurdler and is a warm order today , and will take some beating . English raider Reserve Tank has imrproved massively of late , but a concern with this C&D and ground while Willie Mullins4 timer chasing Royal Rendezvous is another with a progressive profile. City Island for me, but only an interest bet.
½ pt win City Island @ 11/10
No Punchestown placepot
Selected Cheltenham – good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
6.50 The very wonderful Hazel Hill,14 wins and a 2nd in his last 15 races, confirmed his status as the best Hunter Chaser around with a smooth win at the Festival and another victory is on the cards despite some decent types in opposition. At 1/2 , he’s not for punting, but always nice watching great horses going about their work
7.20 PREMIUM RACE
8.20 A few seasons ago Village Vic was running mighty races in top handicaps over this C&D , but rarely sees the track nowadays, but interesting they haven’t retired him and a recent comeback spin wasn’t a bad effort. Worth a play on one last attempt to possibly bow out on a high over his best C&D and ground.
¼ pt win Village Vic @ 11/2
NO Cheltenham placepot
Selected Dundalk- all weather- polytrack
5.55 Sharjah is a regular here and is ultra consistent, but just can’t nail one. This could change tonight , back to his best trip and also with a good race make up as the only front runner.
½ pt win Sharjah @ 10/3
8.10 A stiff task for the. 4 timer seeking Wild shot , dropping in trip under a massive 10 pound penalty. Footsteps At Dawn is consistent over this C&D off around this mark and is just the best in at the weights.
¼ pt win Footsteps at Dawn @ 3/1
Selected Newcstle – all weather- tapeta. The track is stiff and galloping
5.50 A very warm order in this winnable opener in Shareef Star , but he flopped last time when fav , which was no surprise to me. Can’t resist a small play on the consistent and reliable Archie Perkins despite returning from a lengthy break on a stiff mark .
¼ pt win Archie Perkins @ 33/1
