Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.10 Cabaret Queen showed much more like it last time and today’s C&D should ensure an even better run but the likeable veteran Sporting Boy has had a few sighters over hurdles of late and showed up OK last time . He’s not won for a while, but is on a really good mark and has a terrific record over C&d and this type of ground.
½ pt ew Sporting Boy @ 10/1
3.20 The consistent Broughtons Admiral comes here on the back of a fine series of efforts and last time was 2nd at Cheltenham at this trip and a deserved win can be his against some unconvincing rivals .
½ pt win Broughtons Admiral @ 3/1
3.55 This will take little winning and worth chancing the in form Truckers Tangle switching from fences. He’s yet to nail one, but every dog has his day.
¼ pt win Truckers Tangle @ 7/2

Selected Chester- soft ground on this flat and sharp track
Despite a low draw and also being a handy racer are usual requirements for winners here, yesterday, especially at races over a mile or more, the key variable was the ability to handle soft ground, so make sure your picks like the mud.
1.50 Ptarmigan Ridge did well on his comeback spin to be 2nd in the Haydock mud, so the ground us fine and also has a nice draw , but is short in the market at around 2/1, especially as he’s been nudged up 3 pounds. ShadyMcCoy showed little on his comeback spin, but was consistent last year and was a good 4th over C&D off a higher mark. He handles soft ground and has a nice draw, and the quicker they go the better. Nice longshot.

3.35 The Chester Cup and this will be a right old slog on deep ground racing at a marathon trip. The short priced fav is the progressive Austrian School, but softer ground and a longer trip aren’t at all sure to help. The ground wont be helpful to most, including the fancied pair of Cleonte and low Sun Who Dare Wins rarely sees the racetrack nowadays, but his last 2 runs were really good , a 3rd in this last year and a good 3rd on soft ground last time. He’ll do for me.
½ pt ew Who Dares Wins @ 11/1
4.10 As the flying Kachy has been withdrawn because of the ground, the Dascombe stable has an able deputy in the likeable 3yo She Can Boogie, who was a good 3rd here a few days ago and can be close up and see this out the best. She’s a willing sort who handles soft ground well. Amomentofmdness is a classy sprinter on his day , but is a bit in and out. Comeback spin was poor and soft ground no help.
¾ ot win She Can Boogie @ 9/4
4.40 A middle distance handicap for apprentice jockeys and the deep ground wont be favouring many. Marengo rarely sees the racetrack, but has a cracking record here and loves the mud. This race stinks of a turn up.
½ pt ew Marengo @ 22/1
5.15 Coeur De lion is worthy fav and was a close 2nd in this last year . His reappearance was another big run when 3rd at this trip in the mud, but I am put off by the fact he is apprentice ridden today. Addicted to You is an out and out stayer who has been shaping better of late and soft ground no issue . Nicely drawn and top Chester jockey Fran Norton in the saddle.
½ pt ew Addicted to You @ 22/1
Just too much guesswork at Ascot today with heavy rain turning the ground soft and as the majority of the runners have yet to encounter ground this deep, hard to know what well happen. So happy to give the meeting the swerve
Selected Nottingham – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
5.20 Daddies Diva put in a much improved run on her second start which came over this C&D on similar ground . Can put her experience to good use from a potentially good draw.
½ pt win Daddies Diva @ 5/1

Selected Cork – good ground on this flat and galloping track
6.05 Geological is a cracking racehorse who tries very hard from the front . He comes here on the back of another big run when a close 6th over C&d and from a better draw and also the likelihood of being left alone up front , could nab an overdue and deserved win.
½ pt ew Geological @ 11/1
7.35 Looks a match between the poorly drawn Barbados, who may well appreciate stiffer track, and Karakhan , whose form looks stronger and was achieved over this C&D and similar ground.
½ pt win Karakhan @ 5/2
8.35 Anything crossing The Irish Sea is well worth a second look and the in form and upwardly mobile young trainer saddles the very capable Shumookhi, who does have the best form , but hasn’t showed it of late. Worth chancing at juicy odds.
½ pt win Shumookhi @ 10/1

7.40 Despite a penalty , fire Diamond can double up on a fine win at Southwell, but is effective here and this is his best trip.

Just the one play at Ripon, an undulating and quite quick track . ground good to soft.
8.30 Divin Bere doesn’t see the racetrack that often, but comes here on the back of a good 2nd last time , his first try for good trainer Iain Jardine. Nicely drawn, trip and ground no issue.
¼ pt win Divin Bere @ 4/1
