The Deadsure double
Sapa Inca 5.20 @ 5/4
Illusionist 5.50 @ evens
Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles, 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Chains of Love 7.20 Windsor
Christmas Night 4.10 Muss @ 7/2
Scintillating 6.20 Windsor @ 4/1
Brahma Kamal 5.10 @ 10/3
Selected Wolver- all weather- tapeta
1.50 The in form horse is clearly creative Talent, but the drop in trip and wide draw hardly ideal. None of these are the type to trust with the rent money but Gabrial’s Kaka has dropped to a good mark , has run some Ok races of late over C&D and Fran Norton takes over today. Nice longshor in a winnable race.
½ pt ew Gabrial’s Kaka @ 16/1
3.25 PREMIUM RACE
5.00 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Musselburgh- Good to firm ground on this flat, galloping and quick track
2.00 The short priced fav s Cape Victory, 2nd in both of his starts, running to just an Ok level and today tries turf for the first time and also a longer trip, so I’d very much rather look elsewhere. Simon’s Smile is the most experienced in the field and comes here on the back of a decent effort from the front at Redcar on similar ground when 2nd in a handicap. The drop in trip looks a smart move and this could be his day.
½ pt win Simon’s Smile @ 7/2
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
4.10Christmas night is a consistent soul who did well last time, when up with the pace throughout from a bad draw and only giving best late on. He’s nicely drawn to be his preferred front rank and young Ben Robinson gets on well with him. Colour Sergeant notched a rare win last time, which came over C&D , and Crazy Tornado ran well to be 3rd , but this one’s been most unlucky in the draw today. Neither Donnelly’s rainbow not Chaplin Bay are particular well drawn, but not out of this.
½ pt win Christmas Night @ 7/2
4.40 PREMIUM RACE
5.10 The pace to the race will come from Jordan Electric , who made all for a fast ground win over C&D last season, but took a bit of time to hit form last year, so could well need this, but will set this up for the strong finishers. When successful he had Northern Society and Popping Corks just behind , but Northern Society is another likely to need the run while Popping Corks comes here on the back of two weak efforts here. She was entitled to do much better last time when a distant 3rd over C&D, 4 lengths behind the unexposed Brahma Kamal. Who is with a good stable and it was only a matter of time before they found her optimum conditions , which she’ll have today , and should nail this well coming off the pace.
¾ pt win Brahma Kamal @10/3
Selected Kempton- good to firm on this flat and quick track
2.10 With the exception of Salazar, the other three have strong claims, but the front running locker Room Talk has the strongest form and the ground and C&D are fine. Quite big odds for his chance.
1/4pt Win Locker Room Talk @ 11/4
2.40 A walk in the park for 1/5 shot Barbados Blue .
3.15 the consistent Templepark ran well first time over fences returning from a break and a deserved win can finally be his .
½ pt win templepark @ 5/2
4.50 Fairway Freddie made all over C&D a few starts ago on similar ground and ran well last time in a deep event at Ayr, when unable to lead , but still running well. He’s unlikely to be able to lead today with tearaway Blushing red returning from a break, so sure to go off hard, and this C&d winner will like the ground , but is on a testing mark now. Nod goes to Freddie
Fairway Freddie @ 5/1
Killarney- good ground on this flat and sharp track
5.05 Abyssinian hasn’t been seen for 18 months, but was a 95 rated flat horse and has joined a top stable. Odds look generous if he hasn’t deteriorated .
¾ pt win Abyssinian @ 9/4
5.40 the once useful Campeador has a big advantage on official ratings, but not running anywhere near his level and prefers softer terrain. Hard to pick between the other 3 .
6.10 I was with Fred The foot last time, but was withdawn because of soft ground. Ground in hs favour and profile suggests he has been saved for a race like this,
1/4pt Win Fred The foot @ 11/2
6.40 Winning pointer wetbehindtheears put in an improved run last time and the longer trip in his favour in a winnable race.
½ pt win Wetbehindtheears @ 7/2
7.10 The useful Peregrine Run comes out with a clear advantage at the weights, the ground is very much in his favour and he’s a 3 time track winner. Looks a cert , but odds on, Type if you’re cleaning up, stick on your winnings @ 8/11
7.40 The Kilkenny National and the top weight Auvergnat has won this and been 2nd in the last two years , but off much lower marks, but with a decent 7 pound claimer riding , nice odds to exploit a winnable race.
Windsor- probably good ground on this flat, galloping and quick track
5.20 This is very weak and looks an easy task for youngster Sapa inca, a front runner who is unlikely to be caught in this lesser race that what she’s used to.
¾ pt win Sapa inca @ 5/4
5.50 Archie Watson’s juveniles have made a massive impact this season and runs Illusionist, who was just touched off on debut by one with proven good form, with the rest , a mile back . With that experience under his belt, looks another most solid fav.
1pt win Illusionist @ evens
6.20 Belated Breath hardly put a hoof wrong last season but resumes duties on a testing mark and with other front runners in the field, I’m looking elsewhere. The lightly raced Scintillating won well on debut and then raced exclusively in Group company . looks on a fair mark and if taking this could be one to follow in handicaps.
½ pt win Scintillating @ 4/1
6.50 a valuable small field Class 1 event and not a straight forward event at all as all of Mitcham Swagger, Breton Rock and Oh This is Us are hold up types and the other runner, Bye Bye hong Kong, is not an out and front runner , but is still the likely one to take them along , and with SDS aboard , could pinch this from the front, but is short In the market and has a stiff task at the weights, Class to prevail .
1/2pt Won Oh This is Us @ 3/1
7.20 Chains of Love did well last time from a bad draw at Thirsk, running on well to be beaten just a few lengths. With stamina for this trip now assured , a more prominent pitch is likely and Karl Burke does well here and brings her on the 500 mile round trip. Good ew bet.
1/2pt ew Chains Of Love @ 9/1
7.50 This doesn’t have the look of a deep maiden so sticking with the one with the best form in Geizy teizy, whose only run last season was a very decent effort and the longer trip looks within her range.
1/2pt Win Geizy Teizy @ 15/8
8.20 A short priced fav in last time winner simoon , but does have stamina to prove so trying the down in grade Escape The City who came to hand early last season and is suited to the trip and ground, but win record not good.
1/4pt Win escape The City @ 11/2
