Selected Beverley – good ground on this stiff and galloping track
1.50 A warm order here with the Godolphin owned Quiet Place, who did well on debut on quick ground at Windsor, but as this is a very different test, slower ground ,stiffer track, Richard RHB looks a nice ew alternative judged on a solid 3rd at Leicester, so stiff tracks suit.
¼ pt ew Richard RHB @ 11/1
2.20 experience counts for plenty with 2yos, so worth a dabble on Cmon Cmon after a very respectable debut run .
¼ pt win Cmon Cmon @ 5/1
2.50 plenty in this seller have pretty good marks but not running anywhere near the, One who has been competitive off his mark of late is Kickham Street and runs like this C&d will suit.
½ pt win Kickham Street @ 4/1
3.20 Veteran Johnny Cavagin seemed to have lost his way, but returning this season on a career low mark has run two massive races , a win at Ponty and an excellent 2nd over this C&D, with the rest a mile away. He’s been hit with a 6 pound penalty, but this looks winnable and the unfavourable wide draw is at times OK here on slower ground. In a winnable contest, has to be worth a decent bet at the odds.
½ pt win Johnny Cavagin @ 12/1
3.50 Kylie Rules is 2 from 2 around this C&D and also for Ruth Carr, but has a big penalty, up in grade and also slower ground today. Mikmak hardly put a hoof wrong last year and came to hand early last year. Still on a workable mark and a nice longshot.
1/4pt ew Mikmak @ 16/1
Selected Chepstow- good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.00 PREMIUM RACE
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
3.00 Flippa The Strippa ran well on debut and the horse just ahead has won since , so has clear claims, but only around even money.
3,30 Swanton Blue was pretty consistent throughout last season and came to hand early. He runs this track very well with a win and 2 places from just 4 tries. He’s now on a stiff mark but worth a play where few take the eye.
¼ pt ew Swanton Blue @ 9/1
4.00 PREMIUM RACE
5.00 Powerful Society has gone close over hurdles a number of times of late ad returns to the flat on a good mark, nice ew bet.
¼ pt ew Powerful Society @ 9/1
Selected Sedgefield- good ground on this sharp and undulating track
2.40 Istimraar has come back bigger and bolder since returning from a break and did very well sluicing in off this mark over hurdles, as he’s a much better chaser, but is 1/3 for this , which is no kind of bet at all, but track specialist Roxyfet is as he comes here in good form and nice odds for the upset.
1/4pt ew Roxyfet @ 16/1
No advice from Killarney
Ffos las- good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.30 This is very weak and the back to form All The Hunter is the short priced fav but as he’s way up in the weights and way down in trip, have to look elsewhere. Shadow’s Girl is a consistent soul and for a local stable can nab a rare win.
1/2pt Win Shadow’s Girl @ 10/3 .
6.00 PREMIUM RACE
6.30 With Forza Milan and lovenormoney far more effective on softer ground and with Pingshou and Potters Story so hard to fancy on recent form, looks good for the prolific winning hurdler Dead Right, despite going up in trip and trying fences for the first time.
1/2Pt Win Dead Right @ 15/8
7.00 The form horse is clearly Gone Platinum who comes here on the back of a mighty effort when 2nd at Sandown in a far better race. He can race off a lower mark back over smaller obstacles, which is no issue and runs this track really well and ground conditions fine. He gives the impression this longer trip will suit , but has only managed a solitary place in7 tries at this distance. Soulsaver returned to form at his beloved Fontwell last time and his mark is unchanged and will be well served by a return to this longer trip, but this expansive galloping track may well not be suitable. Never Equalled has been dropping in the ratings without much response until last time with a distant 2nd here, running on well and this longer trip well in his favour. Could be a shock winner.
½ pt ew Never Equalled @ 20/1
7.30 Fortunes’s Hiding was a surprise winner at Uttoxeter last time, but looked good. However he’s up a lot in both trip and the ratings, so despite this looking winnable , looking elsewhere. Dr robin is a bit in and out but makes most appeal at the odds , despite the trip being far enough.
¼ pt ew DR Robin @ 12/1
Ffos Las placepot
Selected Southwell- good ground on this flat and sharp track
5.40 A weak opener and if there’s any justice , a belated first win for the consistent Scartare, who comes into this on the back of two good runs over C&D , and wont have a better chance of nailing one.
½ pt win Scartare @ 10/3
6.10 You’d expect Ballotin to be too good for these, but not for me at odds on .
6.40 the capable Ashoka returns from a long break, but that’s unlikely to be an issue with this stable. A bit high in the weights, but makes most appeal.
¼ pt win Ashoka @ 9/4
7.10 The Drone was a ready winner over C&D last time and just gets the nod under a penalty as this could be his niche.
¼ pt win The Drone @ 11/4
7.40 Looks a match between the in form pair of One More Fleurie and Sudden Destination who tick the boxes as far as trip and ground go , but the former’s improved effort last time gives him the nod.
¼ pt win One More Fleurie @ 3/1
