Lah Ti Dar 2.25 @ ½
Humanitarian 2.45 @ ½
Kajaki 3.10 @ 2/1
Legal History 4.15 @ evens
Wild Sam 5.15 @ 11/10
Selected Salisbury- good to firm on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
2.10 Looks to concern only three but Baba Ghanou didn’t do much on her comeback run, but interesting that the top stable has entered her in some top class events, but would rather watch. Frisella won well last time on the all weather, but fast turf form is pretty good. But I never like backing horses with her profile of having long breaks between her races. Belle Vita landed just am ok maiden on her comeback spin, but it came at this trip and ground, and her mark is workable on that victory.
1/2pt Win Belle Vita @ 10/3
2.45 Looks an easy task for 1/2 fav Humanitarian who still has a Derby entry.
3,20 Inference brings the best form to the table with a good 2nd on debut to the useful Fanny Logan, but is odds on, but certainly one for your acca.
Selected York- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.50 There is a ton of early pace here spread right across the track with all of Justanotherbottlle, Abel Handy and Henley taking them along on the far side, Copper Knight , Orvar and Harome up the centre and Foolaad and Eeh Bah Gum on the stands rails, so any of these tough and capable types would do well to escape, but we did have an all the way winner here yesterday in a similar contest, but this looks set up for a finisher . Saaheq has done well sine joining this stable with 4 wins and comes here on the back of a career best at Musselburgh on fast turf , so this speed test should suit. That was his first try on a severe speed test and he passed with flying colours. In the end it was a cosy win but has been clobbered with a 7 pound penalty, but I like his low draw , as that is where the speedier of front runners are and SDS rides. Nice odds to trust his progression.
½ pt ew Saaheq @ 9/1
2,25 Lah Ti Dar did little wrong last year and her only two defeats came in the ST Leger and a Group 1 at Ascot in the mud, but still ran to her mark. Shouldn’t be troubled today. , but is 1/2 . Another for the acca.
3.00 The Group 1 Dante Stakes and last year’s top rated 2yo Too Darn Hot makes a belated return to duties , missing his engagement in the 2000 Guineas . He is bred for this trio being a brother to Air Andrew’s classy pair of fillies in So Mi Dar and Lar ti Dar, and even money may look very generous come 10 past 3, but this is hardly a gimme and all demand consideration. The two that make most appeal against the fav are Godophin’s line of duty who ended the season with a hat-trick , running to a useful level and Aidan O’brien’s Japan. If anything the Irish maestro has been more dominant than ever this year and has already won a number of Derby trials, and he has to rate Japan vet highly to bring him which is considered to be the main Derby trial.
1/4 pt ew Japan @ 7/1
4.05 A good quality Class 1 sprint and the one to beat at the weights is the very useful Soldier’s Call , who landed a Group 3 last year and ran many a good race last year , and was even 3rd in the top sprint on Arc Day , the Prix D’Abbaye. He does carry a penalty, which wont help in this grade, but still hard to rule our. There are other front runners and also some dark horses in progressive types in Garrus and Semoun , but Well Done Fox is clear 2nd best at the ratings and has a C&D win on quick ground on his CV. His comeback spin was not great , but was over 6 furlongs at the stiff Newmarket, so expect better today with an ideal strong gallop assured for this late player and SDS rides.
½ pt ew well Done Fox @ 8/1
4.35 Not much to go on here except that the Godolphin newcomer has been the subject of strong support and now just even money .
5.05 It’s always interesting when a horse is saved for a repeat of a last win , and that’s the case with Waiting For Richie , who won this last year after a similar break, and as he’s only 2 pounds higher , in a winnable heat, a very nice ew bet.
½ pt ew Well Done Richie @ 11/1
Selected Perth- good ground on this flat and prerty quick track
3.10 Load up Time sluiced in here last time but on slower ground and has an 8 pound penalty. This is a weak heat and Kajaki, fir from the flat , will have only himself to blame if unable to land this.
¾ pt win Kajaki @ 2/1
3,45 Most of these would be better served by softer ground or a stiffer track which offers a decent opportunity for Blue Kascade to double up on last year’s win. He hasn’t been goung badly of late and this is not an awesome task.
½ pt win Blue Kascade @ 4/1
4.15 Again not a competitive heat and looks good for the in form youngster Legal History who can justify the 900 mile round trip for a stable with a healthy success rate here .
¾ pt win Legal History @ evens
5.15 Another weak heat and this should be easy peasy for Wild Sam , who was bang there last time at Ayr until taking a late fall and has a good rider in this race for Conditional jockeys.
½ pt win Wild Sam @ 11/10
Sorry folks, no free tips tonight, no point in guessing and there’s always tomorrow
No real point getting involved at Fontwell with all small fields and most of these hunters have never tried regulation fences , especially around a specialist circuit like Fontwell
No advice for Clonmel, unfamiliar with the track and horses.
Selected Newmarket- good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track.
6.20 Gentlewoman ran a cracker on debut and despite the massive field, this looks a formality, but is 1/2 .
