Cruising Bye 2.15 @ 13/2
Pirate Jack 2.50 @ 11/4
Lord County 3.25 @ 13/2
Jen’s Boy 4.35 @ 11/4
No advice from Navan
Selected Bangor- good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.15 Not a strong heat and a very decent opportunity for the back to form Cruising Bye. He’s real hold up type and has been known to lose interest and get detached , but he has a good record here and the excellent Sean Bowen knows him very well.
1/ pt win Cruising Bye @ 13/2
2.50 The useful polytrack performer Petite Jack showed his first worthwhile form over hurdles last time when handicapping for the first time, landing an OK event smoothly, and the 4 pound hit could have been far harsher. Tidal Watch has recently returned bigger and bolder with two impressive wins, but a big penalty will test.
½ pt win Petite Jack @ 11/4
3.25 Not a deep race and a decent chance for topweight Lord County , who’s dropped to a good mark after some fair recent efforts , and this wont take much winning.
1/2pt win Lord County @ 13/2
4.35 You don’t see many Nicky Henderson runners rated just 100 , which is the opening mark for Jen’s Boy , who’s been going OK in novice events and this isn’t an awesome task.
½ pt win Jens Boy @ 11/4
Selected Newmarket- Good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
3.15 The lightly raced Morawaad had showed decent form on the all weather, but stepped up considerably going handicapping on turf . That win came at Doncaster, when he was given quite a bit to do , but picked up like a horse ahead of the game, to pip Dazzling Dan , with fresh air back to the rest , and the well beaten 3rd horse has done well since. Both of these have felt the wealth of the handicapper, but the tip does like one to leave his present mark behind. Late , fast and true again.
¾ pt win Moraewed @ 5/2
4.25 Petitfogger lost nothing in defeat last time at Lingfield trying to make all and only giving best to a decent type, and had the rest well beaten . This is not a deep race and the fav Spanish City, a useful hold up type, but on a stiff mark, could be chasing the tip’s shadow.
½ pt win Petitfogger @ 4/1
Selected Newbury- good to firm on this falt and galloping track
1.50 Plenty here with chances at the weights, but the favs in Moyassar and Red Impression don’t look bombproof. Moyassar stepped up last time with a good win at Newmarket, bt it was only in a handicap off a mark of 88, while Red Impression has raced only exclusively on polytrack , and her level of form needs improving upon anyway. Konchek landed his maiden on debut and thenkept some very warm company , all in Group company , and was rarely disgraced and his lofty mark of 105 is an accurate assessment of his ability which gives him solid claims at today’s weights. His comeback spin was OK considering he was anchored at the back , but ran on well late on. Nice ew bet.
¼ pt ew KOnchek @ 11/1
2.25 A facile task for the very loftily rated 125 , which is how good he is . A case of how far for this 1/3 shot.
3.00 I am drawn to the topweight Headman who runs in the Frankel colours and has a Group 2 entry, His first two runs were on the all weather and his only turf run was on soft ground, so the poor run can be excused. He is trained by the excellent Roger Charlton whose only ever had 3 runners in this race, which is always competitive, and all 3 have won !!
¼ pt win Headman @ 9/1
3.40 The Group 1 Locking Stakes and at the weights the one to beat is wonder filly Laurens , and she is a very tempting price at 5/1 , but she likes to dominate and with Ostilo in the field, that’s unlikely. Ostilo disappointed on his comeback spin in France , but is not out of this on his best form and Oisin Murphy rides, but usual jockey Andrea Arzeni has jumped ship for Sharja Bridge, same owner and trainer , and this one comes into in great form when a close 2nd behind Beat The bank. In a very open contest I’m with the capable Lord Glitters, who holds his form well and will appreciate coming late and fast off a likely strong gallop.
¼ pt ew Lord Glitters @ 13/2
Selected Thirsk- good to firm on this flat, sharp and speedy track
3.20 PREMIUM RACE
3.55 They’ll be going fast and furious in this sprint , with possibly The Armed Man spearheading the pack, but is on a tough mark , as are clear form horses, hat-trick seeking Pennsylvania Dutch and Paddy Power. Jawaal has run two big races of late but slight preference is for the down in class Get Knotted, who will be eating up the ground late on.
1/4pt ew Get Knotted @ 12/1
4.30 PREMIUM RACE
No Thirsk placepot
Selected Doncaster- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
6.35 Not a deep contest and the consistent Gallic will take some beating despite slight concern on a speed track.
½ pt win Gallic @ 5/2
7.05 Another race where most are hard to fancy and the vote goes to the consistent Black lotus, who ran well recently off her new mark and this is a bit easier .
½ pt win Black Lotus @ 5/2
8.05 PREMIUM RACE
8.35 Gentle Look won well last time, but it wasn’t a big ask and today’s drop in trio could find him out , as well as the hefty penalty. Buckingham won well last time at this trip and with only a 2 pound penalty could double up in this winnable finale.
¾ pt win Buckingham @ 7/2
Selected Uttoxeter- good ground on this slightly undulating, sharpish track with a long run in
6.50 The chase track here is pretty specialist which makes Fact Flow of interest with 2 wins here from just 4 tries and comes here in fair form.
¼ pt win Full Flow @9/2
7.20 If there’s any justice in the world, the consistent and willing Valadon will finally nail a victory after a number of close calls, and has a win here over C&D.
¼ pt win Valadon @ 5/1
7.50 Midnight Aurora ran well returning from a break when running on to be 3rd at Southwell and the return to this longer trip very much in his favour.
½ pt win Midnight Aurora @ 9/4
