Selected Redcar- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.00 Short priced fav in last time winner Insania, but does carry the dreaded penalty so preference for Knight cap, whose debut run was a good effort before finding the stiff Beverley not to her liking.
¼ pt win Knightcap @ 9/2
2.35 The fav is Rose of Kildare who was a close 4th in a bunched finish at Brighton, so the form could be unreliable and Brighton Form is best left for Brighton. Leave Em Alone has run a few fair races and this longer trip will help and the booking of Jim Crowley takes the eye,
¼ pt ew Leave em Alone @ 7/1
3.05 Tomahawk Ridge’s win last time came a bit out of the blue and it’s possible he got the run of the race from the front , so under a penalty and other front runners, could struggle . dancing Mountain finaly responded to the handicapper’s generosity with a good 2nd at this trip last time , which could well be enough to land this.
¼ pt win Dancing Mountain @9/2

5.05 Not a deep maiden and looks a match between Risalla , who stepped up considerably last time , but it was on tapeta, and as her only other run was on polytrack, a bit to prove on quick turf. Puzzle improved a great deal last time on quick turf at Windsor and the longer trip looks a smart move for Her Majesty’s runner.
½ pt win Puzzle @ 5/2
5.35 You don’t see Roger Charlton in this part of the world often and you rarely see a horse of his rated only 60 , which makes Blowing Dixie of interest. His comeback spin was a fair effort at Salisbury giving the impression this longer trip will suit.
1/ 4pt win Blowing Dixie @9/2
Selected Carlisle – good to firm on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
2.10 Quite a few good stables have likely newcomers in this , but no beating experience with 2yos , which makes Dragon Command of interest after a very decent debut run. He’s trained by George Scott who’s brought him on this 550 mile round trip !
½ pt win Dragon Command @ 5/2
2.45 I spent some time on this, but found myself going round in circles and eventually fell for C&d winner Mr orange, who should be fit to do himself justice after a couple pf sighters.
¼ pt win Mr Orange @ 8/1
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
4.15 A weak event and looks very good for Ramesses to defy a small penalty after a win at Leicester, but only even money.
4.45 PREMIUM RACE
Yesterday’s headscratching results at Stratford underline the precarious nature of jumps races this time of year. It’s the time of year when many horses have just had enough and underperform, while those who have been showing little, suddenly bunce back, and there are rarely warning signs.

Mr Zoom Zoom 5.30 @ 7/2
The Tin Man 6.30 @ 11/8
Goodnight Girl 7.00 @ 11/2
Kwela 8.15 @ 7/1
Selected Windsor- good to firm on this flat, galloping , quick track
5.30 Mr Zoom Zoom had showed a bit of form before his taking good 2nd over C&D last time, coming from far back to chase Summer Moon, who slaughtered a good field at York last week, so the form looks far better than at the time. It was a true run race with the small field spread out all over Berkshire and solid chance tonight.
1/2 pt win Mr Zoom Zoom @ 7/2
6.30 A good quality Class 1 sprint and the very useful The Tin Man goes for a hat-trick of wins in this event , and won this first time back last year. He has a hefty penalty, which of course makes this more difficult than it should be , but class should prevail .
½ pt win The Tin Man @ 11/8
7.00 Goodnight Girl is a tremendous racehorse and last season ended with a sequence of 3 wins, 4 seconds & a 3rd, and carried on the good work with a good 3rd on her comeback run, which was especially good as it took her some time to find her form last year. She is certainly on a stiff mark , but in 4 runs here has 2 wins and 2 places and is likely to be able to take an ideal handy sit in a field of mostly hold up types. She is extra determined in the finish and a good bet at the odds.
¾ pt win Goodnight Girl @ 11/2
8.00 Short priced fav in Ocean Paradise who was 2nd on debut behind the progressive Raise You, but she was totally unfancied at 50/1 and the ground was soft. This is a typical deep Windsor maiden and I prefer the chance of the lightly raced Birdcage Walk, who’s with a top stable and ran 2nd over C&d last time , and with James Doyle now riding, looks a taking ew bet.
½ pt ew Birdcage Walk @ 8/1
Selected Leicester- good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
6.15 Regular’s form figures are a little worrying as he’s finding it hard to nail one and the stable’s stats with first time cheekpieces suggest this is a move of desperation. This could be a deep maiden with plenty of big stables having runners.
6.45 at the weights it’s a match between hat-trick seeking Clayton and the badly out of form Eye of The Storm. Clayton should do the biz, but not for me at 4/7 .
7.15 Casement is going well but this longer trip has been no help in the past, and this is far enough for Billy Roberts too. Geetanjali knows how to win but is now on a stiff mark while the down in grade Meagher’s flag could do better over this shorter trip . ???
8.15 Kwela took the eye a few times last year and ran hr best race here on quick ground. She was drawn out of it last time at Windsor, but again gave the impression that this longer trip would suit. An able 7 pound claimer rides and this could be her night.
½ pt win Kwela @ 7/1
8.45 The consistent Sapa Inca failed by just a short head at Windsor and this stiffer track can only help. She goes with the pace as does Babbo’s Boy, who stuck on well last time and the well beaten 3rd horse has run well since , but as I find this pair hard to split, the tip has to be the bet as the danger is an even money shot.
½ pt win Sapa Inca @ 3/1
