6 50p doubles , 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Whatduhavtoget 4.25 @ 7/2
Leapaway 3.55 @ 5/1
Telekinetic 3.45 @ 10/1
Maulsden May 4.35 @ 2/1
Selected Ayr- good ground on this flat and galloping track
Jessie Allan went 41 races before finally ringing The Victory Bell with a win at Redcar, off a slightly lower mark than today , and went on to win twice more , both times over C&D, the latter of a testing mark of 63, but then the handicapper got very serious and she couldn’t get a look in. She’s been given some help from the handicapper and a recent 3rd at Musselburgh over a trip short of her best was pretty good. She was poor last time at Thirsk, but that track doesn’t suit every horse , and a return to her best C&D sees her as a lively longshot.
¼ pt ew Jessie Alan @ 22/1
3.05 A short priced fav in Universal Gleam who won well at Hamilton last time, but has also run well here , but will not have the luxury of an easy lead with in form tapeta specialist Trevithick sure to go on and he can race off a massive 14 pound lower on turf, but quick turf a problem. Strong steps hasn’t won for over 2 years, but recent runs have been pretty good and worth a dabble on a career low mark . outside inside is another who comes here in good form and wont be far away.
¼ pt ew Strong Steps @ 4/1
3.35 recent winner Friendly advice has a hefty penalty for a win at the stiff Beverley, so could well find things happening a bit quick round here. Most of these are hard to fancy but a clear chance can be given to the fav Yolo again, who drops in grade, but at the odds, slight preference for recent smart Ripon winner Mark’s Choice.
¼ pt ew Mark’s Choice @ 7/1
4.35 There will be no hanging around in this with Corton Lad sure to go on , along with dragon Mountain and Guvernor’s Choice pitching in too. While these are battling for the lead, the in form dual C&D winner Maulsden May will be biding her time and not hard seeing her pulling away for an easy win.
¾ pt win Maulsden May @ 2/1
5.05 A weak handicap for apprentice jockeys where it’s hard to fancy many, and no getting away from the clear chance of C&D winner Rebel State, who holds his form well, but has a tricky draw and ridden by a most unsuccessful rider, so just a small play.
¼ pt win Rebel State @ 7/2
5.40 A similar race in more ways than one and going for a longshot in the well drawn Retirement Beckons , whose ran a couple of Ok races of late and the stable gets winners here.
¼ pt ew Retirement Beckons @ 28/1
Selected Yarmouth- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.10 Big race jockey James Doyle is an interesting booking for Brigand, who is capable at his best but I prefer the consistent molten Lava, who is more of an all weather horse, but handles turf fine. He travelled well for a long wat at Leicester last time until the longer trip found him out . He is partnered by Robert Havlin and in 6 runs together, they have a win and 5 places !! , but as very quick ground not ideal, just a small play.
¼ pt ew Molten Lava @ 11/2
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.45 This will take little winning with so many going up in trip , not supported by their pedigrees. The fav is the lightly raced Nasee who did well on his first start for Ed Vaughn, and the longer trip looks within his compass, but this could come a bit soon. Telekinetic holds her form pretty well and on pedigree this longer trip should help. Nice ew bet.
¼ pt ew Telekinetic @ 10/1
4.45 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Warwick- good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.20 The good Dr Richard Newlnd does well with new intakes and the ex-French Yccs Portocervo brings the best form to the table and this wont take much winning.
½ pt win Yccs Portocevo @ 9/4
2.55 Youngster Kerkan is 3 from 3 this season, but the 13 pound hit will test, as will the drop in trip. The consistent Atlantic Storm looks a safe ew bet.
¼ pt ew Atlantic Storm @ 13/2
3.25 Wonderful veteran Riddlestown showed amazing battling skills t prevail last time , but the 7 pound hit will surely test. The in form Max Forte has a bit to prove on this sharp track, as does Desert Sensation. Cap Horner has been holding his form well and just gets the nod on recent form on this ground.
¼ pt win Cap Horner @ 9/2#
3.55 A good quality Class 2 hurdle and plenty have to be considered , but the nod goes to the prolific Leapaway , who returned from a break with a good 3rd in a hot event at Plumpton, when ridden as if they had something bigger in mind.
½ pt win Leapaway @ 5/1
4.25 A good quality Class 2 chase but I like the look of the in form front running Whatduhavtoget, who runs this tricky track really well and could take a bit of catching.
½ pt win Whatduhavtoget @ 7/2
Selected Southwell – good ground on this flat and sharp track- speed track
5.45 Jaboticba is certainly the likely winner but not playing odds on.
6.15 Both Mahlermade and The Wicket Chicken are penalised for good wins last time , and Mahlermade’s win was a big improvement. Both Sumkindofking and Sir will are on workable marks and I’m with this pair fighting it out.
¼ pt rev fc Sumkingofking- Sir Will
6.45 Twycross Warrior stepped up considerably last time as previously he was way behind Cardigan Bay over C&D, and this one ran well for a long way under a penalty and it looked like stamina caught him out. Back in trip, looks a nice bet in a winnable race.
½ pt win Cardigan Bay @ 3/1
7.15 Should be a formality for Henrietta Bell as the ground suits her much more than her chief rivals, but evens short enough.
8.15 the lightly raced Taras day won really well over C&d last time and could well be up to the penalty as she’s totally unexposed as a stayer under these conditions.
½ pt win Taras Day @ 5/2
Selected Kempton- all weather – polytrack
5.55 Full marks to the prolific and very willing Capofaro with 4 wins and a 2nd in his last 5 , and his last 3 wins have come on different surfaces, in polytrack , fibresand and tapeta, credentials of a reliable racehorse. He also has a win over C&D and is well drawn tonight to try and make all. He’s 4pounds higher, but could be up to it , but what is putting me off is the booking of Tom Greatrex in this race for apprentices and he hasn’t had many rides of late and a long time since he rode a winner. Kingdom of Dubai runs for a top stable and was unlucky last time behind Capofaro , beaten just two lengths. He too is well drawn and has a top jockey riding , but the surface is a worry. Just gets the nod.
¼ p win Kingdom of Dubai @ 7/2
6.25 Fair to say we haven’t seen the best of the prolific Merchant of Venice , as this is just his 7th run and has 3 wins already in the bag. He runs this C&d very well and his last run here was a terrific run when a close 3rd having to operate from the worst of the draw. He’s been nudged up the weights a bit and is again drawn wide , but not so wide and tonight Oisin Murphy rides. Late and fast .
½ pt win Merchant of Venice @ 3/1
7.55 koeman is a reliable soul who runs his race whatever is chucked at him and comes here on the back of a big run on turf when 3rd in a Class 2 event. He is effective over C&D and another good run looks on.
¼ pt win Koeman @ 4/1
8.25 Despite the big field few can be fancied so worth trying Lady of Authority , who has improved well since stepping up to this trip. She won as she liked at Wolver coming from well off the pace , but does have a 5 pound penalty, a poor draw and switches to polytrack, but fair odds to overcome all of this.
¼ pt win Lady of Authority @ 4/1
