Today’s Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles, 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Gold Filigree 4.35 @ 10/1
Shore Step 2.25 @ 9/1
Boethius 6.05 @ 9/1
Clare underwood 3.30 @ 9/4
Selected Chester- good to firm on this flat and sharp track. On today’s ground, low numbers in the draw have a distinct advantage as do prominently raced runners.
1.45 This looks a match between two lightly raced types in famous colours for big stables, but from a good draw, Hero Hero, should get first run onBardo Contiguo.
½ pt win Hero Hero @ 5/6
2.20 PREMIUM RACE
2.55 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 The ultra reliable Clare Underwood is only 2 pounds higher for making all and seeing it out willingly at Ripon and is the likely pace setter today . Looks another in the long list of all the way winners at Chester.
¾ pt win Claire Underwood @ 9/4
4.40 Simoon is 2 from 2 this season and looks likely to go 3 from 3. He likesto go with the pace, as do a few others, but is just as effective stalking the leaders. This is not a deep race and can go in again.
½ pt win Simoon @ 7/4
5.15 A number of in form types here, but all penalised so happy to play the well drawn and willing front runner Berrahri , who’s been harshly bunged up 3 pounds for a recent excellent 2nd , but if getting his own way up front today , could take some catching.
¼ pt ew Berrahri @ 14/1
Selected The Curragh- good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
1.50 Latin Five did well on debut but has to concede a lot of weight in this auction stakes, and also drops in trip slightly , but could be a bit better than these.
¼ pt win Latin Five @ 9/4
2.25 Shore step has a terrific record here and showed up well for a long way on his recent comeback spin and Shane Foley is 3 from 4 aboard !
1/2pt ew Shore Step @9/1
3.00 A wide open Group 2 sprint and Richard Fahey brings crack sprinter Mr Lupton across The Irish Sea, which is often a tip in itself, but this stiff C&d could catch him out The consistent Ardhooney goes well here and has a solid chance at the ratings.
¼ pt ew Ardhooney @ 8/1
3.35 The Irish 2000 Guineas and Magna Grecia who landed the English equivalent in style is well backable for the double as the pre race odds on fav, Too Darn Hot, who missed the race, takes his chance today and did little wrong in The Dante, but did run 10pounds below his lofty rating. Msgna for the double.
½ pt win Magna Grecia @ 11/8
Selected Goodwood- good to firm on this undulating, sharp and tricky track
1.55 Elarqam is becoming hard to win with and doesn’t look a likely candidate for this tricky C&D. The consistent Fabricate has a C&D win on his CV and could be another winner for Her Majesty .
¼ pt ew Fabricate @ 15/2
2.30 Plenty of progressive 3yos in this but trying the reliable Best Le Bon, whose been holding his own in this lofty grade well.
¼ pt win Beat Le Bon @ 6/1
Selected York- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.00 A very tricky opener but worth trying the tenacious and capable Dancing Star
¼ pt win Dancing Star @ 9/2
2.35 PREMIUM RACE
3.05 Enbihaar is a most progressive filly and will take a great deal of beating. Very good form and no problems with trip or ground.
¾ pt win Enbihaar @ 6/4
3.45 PREMIUM RACE
5.25 A handicap for amateur jockeys and the best one around, Simon walker has an excellent chance with the in form Saluti, but he has been friendless in the market ,and no reason why he should be. Stlll can’t refuse at the odds.
¼ pt win Saluti @ 6/1
Only the one play at Cartmel , a unique track, flat , very sharp and a long run in- going is good
4.25 West Wizard goes well on tight tracks and has the ground in his favour. On a very decent mark and this is nor an awesome task.
¼ pt win West Wizard @ 8/1
Selected Haydock- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.15 PREMIUM RACE
2.50 A number of progressive 3yos in this, but Masaru , who is 3 from 4, has a shocker of a draw. Awe is well drawn and has obvious form claims, but nod goes to Oasis Prince, who after an ok debut has won his last 3 races in some style and could be ahead of the game.
¼ pt win Oasis Prince @ 6/1
4.00 A Group 2 sprint and this will be mighty fast and furious with two of my favourite sprinters, Kachy and Caspian Prince are going to bomb and stretch this small yet quality field. Both have the form to go close and Kachy was a close 3rd in this last year when Battaash got up on the nod. This one comes out best at the weights, but lost a few races last year he should have won and with the strong finishing pair if Mabs Cross and Alpha Delfini in the field, this is going to be a terrific race, but can’t ignore a dabble on the tip at long odds.
¼ pt win Alpha Delfini @ 14/1
4.35 Signora Cabello was one of the best juvenile sprinters last year and has a clear advantage at the weights, but her comeback spin wasn’t good and still a bit to prove at this trip against some battle hardened older sprinters. Both Heavenly Molly and island of Life are very useful on the all weather so this makes the in form , useful and tenacious gold Filigree a cracking ew bet.
½ pt ew Gold Filigree @ 10/1
Selected Salisbury- good to firm ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
6.20 Air Of York was a ready winner over C&D last time, at long odds, and with a useful 7 pound claimer more than nullifying the penalty , could come off the pace again for the double in a winnable contest.
¼ pt win Air of York @ 6/1
7.50 You don’t see many Roger Charlton runners rated as lowly as 59 , but that is the lightly raced Midport’s opening mark so has to be worth a try in what looks a modest heat .
¼ pt win Midport @ 7/1
Selected Ffos Las- good ground on this flat and galloping track
6.05 This will take little winning and I like the look of Boethius who returned from s break with an encouraging effort at Warwick and remains on a fair mark. Slightly longer trip should suit this young ex pointer.
½ pt ew Boethius @ 9/1
7.05 Looks a match between the two penalised runners in Grey Diamond and Now Look At Me, but the former is a much bigger price despite having the stronger form
¼ pt win Grey Diamond @ 9/2
8.05 Delface is a reliable soul and will again tun his race, but now on a testing mark and I prefer the lightly raced Chapmanshype after a decent 2nd in an Ok novice event last time.
¼ pt win Chapmanshype @ 7/1
8,35 What a cracking racehorse youngster Uno Mas is as he’s won 5 of his last 7 and been second in the other two and wins have come over a variety of trips , ground and tracks. He’s usually underestimated by the bookies, but not so today and is a short enough 7/4 fav. He;s only up 3 pounds for his latest win and could find this trip short of his best. His main rival is the very much in form Gone Platinum , 2 wins and 2 seconds in his last 4. He has a terrific record here and just give him the nod
¼ pt win Gone Platinum @ 4/1
