Selected Lingfield- good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
2.00 Not a deep race and few can be considered. Royal Hall has clear claims but slight preference for Mistress Nellie, who’s yet to win in 16 tries, but has gone close a number of times, including last time when forcing a short priced fav to pull out all the stops. She’s unpenalised and the same jockey rides. She hits the frame more often than not at this trip making her a pretty safe ew bet.
¼ pt ew Mistress Nellie @ 9/2
4.00 There was little between Lippy Lady, who’s had plenty of chances, the lightly raced Poetic Motion and the in form Act of Magic last time at Bath, but at the revised weights and a slightly longer trip, like the chance of the latter.
¼ pt ew Act of Magic @ 8/1
4.30 Calippo ran well on debut and will be wiser for the experience, bu 7/4 too short for her chance.
5.00 The bookies make this a two filly war between Dashed and Kings Girl, who both run for top stables, but both have showed their best form on soft ground. . Boorowa could spring a shock . she ran a solid race last time in her first handicap and the 3 pound drop and the longer trip could see her surprise stronger fancied rivals.
½ pt ew Boorowa @ 16/1
Selected Yarmouth- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.20 If there’s any justice in the world, the consistent Strawberry Jack will finally nail a deserved win. There’s nothing wrong with his attitude, just been unlucky. He likes to dominate , which may not be easy with a few others in the field getting busy early. The drop in trip may not be ideal but with big race jockey James Doyle aboard , looks a nice bet to topple the fav in John Clare, who is 4 pounds higher for a good 2nd at Leicester, but the mark and this quicker track could catch him out.
½ pt win Strawberry Jack @ 4/1
3.20 Hard to be sure with so many of these 3yos going up in trip and plenty trying handicapping for the first time.Parknasilla ran well here last time in a handicap giving the impression this longer trip would suit.
¼ pt win Parknasilla @ 5/1
3.50 Couldn’t Could she got back on the winning trail at Brighton, but the 5 pound hit makes the double unlikely, despite this being weak. Hard Toffee ran well when 2nd over C&D last time, but is a bit in and out, but in this contest , his best will be enough.
¼ pt win Hard Toffee @ 6/1
Selected Wetherby- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
3.10 Maulsden May made no mistake last time when presented with a good opportunity and while the 5 pound hit will take some overcoming, this is a weak heat and she’s run well on similar marks in the past.
¼ pt win Maulsden May @ 3/1
3.40 The ultra consistent Make Me ran a cracker on his comeback spin over C&D , and from a good draw, comes out best at the weights today.
½ pt win Make Me @ 7/2
4.10 The progressive Makawee is bred to appreciate this longer trip and looks one for odds on players.
4.40 Not a deep handicap and at the weights just favour Macs Blessing over Hector’s Here.
¼ pt win Macs Blessing @ 4/1
5.10 Antico Lady is progressing well and sluiced in last time at this trip, but her best form is on the all weather, but not impossible she could adapt to quick turf at this trip. Neilita ran a solid race at this trip and mark last time on turf making her a decent ew bet.
¼ pt ew Nellita @ 5/1
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
No advice from Ireland
Selected Carlisle- probably soft ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
6.10 Hard to be sure as most of these 3yos are new to handicapping, going up in trip and trying soft ground. Few catch the eye but Keska could be worth a play. He’s been running in Class 4 maidens , which have proved too hot for her, but has showed glimpses of ability and the longer trip looks a good idea. She’s with a top stable so you’d expect her to come good at some time.
¼ p win Keska @ 11/1
7.50 Wild Hope won really well last time but goes up in trip, the ratings and softer ground could catch him out and is badly drawn. Lightning Attack has run a few good races in the mud and should stay this far.
¼ pt win Lightning Attack @ 6/1
8.20 PREMIUM RACE
8.50 Banky’s Art came back with a bang winning on his reappearance , but less of a problem is the 5 pound hit compared to this stiff C&d in the mud. Kittys Cove was consistent last year and handles the mud and this kind of track, so a nice lively longshot.
¼ pt ew Kittys Cove @ 14/1
No Carlisle placepot
Selected Sandown – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
7.05 Looks a match between Fox Leicester and Sparkle My Eyes, but the latter’s recent good 3rd puts him on a good mark in his first handicap.
¼ pt win Sparkle My eyes @ 5/2
7.35 PREMIUM RACE
8.10 Maiden Castle ran a cracking good race last time., just touched off by Aloe Vera who has landed a big win since and some way ahead of Wedding Blue who comfortably landed a handicap off a good mark next time out. The form is rock solid and is well enough drawn to take his preferred handy sit and the ground and the stiff C&D will hold no terrors . The good recent winners in Gold Stick and Pondus would do very well to give weight and a beating to the tip.
¾ pt win Maiden Castle @ 15/8
8.40 Not a deep finale and it offers a good chance for New Jazz to convert a number of good placed efforts into a deserved win. Slightly longer trip and stiffer track look advantageous .
1/4 pt win New Jazz @ 5/2
