Both jumps tracks are likely to have long spells of rainfall and the ground is likely to soften, hardly ideal conditions for runners prepared for Summer Jumping. Only a few of interest
Selected Bangor – On Dee- possibly good to soft on this flat and sharp track
2,30 The form horse and fav is Nikki Steel, but if the rain does get into the ground, it wouldn’t be ideal. Conditions wont bother the in form Court Duty, who looked ready to collect last time until chinned late on. 4 pound nudge in the weights looks harsh, but still an ok bet.
¼ pt win Court Duty @ 11/4
3.00 Kingston was in terrific form last Summer , but the wheels have dropped off somewhat of late, but he has been forced to race in higher grade and off a testing mark. Last time was a bit more like it and has been given a real chance by the handicapper. He has a good record here and softer ground no problem
¼ pt win Kingston @ 5/1
Selected Southwell- possibly good to soft on this flat and sharp track
2.45 the in form pair of Global Domination and Scatare wont welcome the rain and both are now on testing marks. The veteran Brave Spartacus landed an overdue win when typically making all on softish ground at Market Rasen , but has struggled in two subsequent efforts. He’s the likely leader in this and worth a dabble at the odds.
¼ pt win Brave Spartacus @ 10/1
4.15 All 6 of these mares come into this in fine form but any deterioration in the ground wont be helping the majority, so worth trying another longshot in She’s Gina . She was on a long losing run until getting it right good style over C&D last time out . She’s up 5 pounds and in grade, but has won off higher marks and softer ground no issue.
¼ pt win She’s Gina @ 10/1
No Southwell placepot
No advice from Tipperary
Selected Lingfield- all weather- polytrack
5.40 PREMIUM RACE
6.10 Doesn’t look a deep maiden and an obvious chance for Godolphin’s Quiet Place to go one better after two good seconds. Nicely drawn and longer trip new surface shouldn’t be issues. A shade of odds on, but that looks Ok if you are the type who just wants to have one serious bet a day.
½ pt win Quiet Place @ 5/6
6.40 PREMIUM RACE
7.10 PREMIUM RACE
8.10 The two with a stand out chance are both trained by top trainer John Gosden , but Frankie Dettori comes here for just the one ride on first in Line , in the Golden Horn colours . The other stable runner is Harrovian, who did well on debut at Newmarket, and on breeding could be better suited to this surface. Both around even money, so a great race for the headless gamblers, as it will be the shock of the day if either fail to win, but be careful out there coin tossers, half oy you will be losing your wedge !
8.40 Sir Michael Stoute has his team in excellent trim, 12 of his last 24 runners winning ! He runs Her Majesty’s Calculation in this, and on paper, doesn’t really stand out as a good bet, but is too well bred not to click eventually and likely the longer trip and surface will help , and Ryan Moore comes here for his only ride of the day, but at around 5/4. much rather watch .
Selected Newcastle- all weather= tapeta
The track is stiff and galloping
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
6.20 We know Ishebayorgrey well from his regular jaunts on the Dundalk polytrack, but has recently joined the good stable of Iain Jardine and ran well here over a mile to be 6th of 14, looking like a longer trip would suit him nowadays and he was unlucky not to collect at Ayr failing by a neck with the rest miles back . Generously his mark is untouched and this is not a big ask . his win record of late has been poor but he’s never been on so low a mark.
½ pt win Ishebayorgrey @ 7/4
6.50 After a cracking effort last time, this looks ample compensation for Tamreer in a winnable event.
½ pt win Tamreer @ 2/1
7.20 The best race of the day and the three top weights all run for Southern stables. Of this trio, Lush life comes into this in the best for, but the hefty penalty is a worry and is unproven on the surface and the stable hasn’t done well in previous raids here. Bedouin’s Story runs for Godolphin , but recent runs could have been better, but has been given a chance by the handicapper , and as the stable does well here, has to be considered. Ibraz is another who’s been given some help by the assessor, but two runs this season not overly encouraging . Track regular Trevitchick is sure to want to take these along and is drawn high, and on his current mark is likely to run well for a long way until being engulfed late on. Ulshaw Bridge is on a workable mark, but the low draw probably no help. In a very interesting race, I’ve gone for the unexposed Algaffal , who started his career with top trainer William Haggas, and ran a few good races, but the stable and owner have high standards and was recently moved on to the capable stable of Brian Ellison and won well here in his first handicap . That was in lower grade, but he did it well and as he’s unexposed , could be ahead of the game and worth a play.
¼ pt ew Algaffal @ 8/1
8.20 I’ve backed Kinloch Pride a few times of late, but things just didn’t work out. No complaints regarding her present mark nor a return to this C&D. Worried about the jockey booking as Connor Beasley is on a long losing run, but has ridden plenty of placed horses of late .
¼ pt ew Kinloch Pride @ 15/2
