Recent Review

Saturday- the two Newmarket tips both had strong claims and were trusted on this stiffer track which juat didn't suit , both running just fair

races .

As expected Summerghand was running on very well in the Wokingham snatching a place late on @ 14/1

A welcome winner with Chanceiton , who had a terrific race make up and probably won too well as he was 15 lenghts clear at the line,

with the field scattered all over Northumbria , winning at 11/2

Dun For Good ran just a fair race coming  4th, but never really threatening , when entitled to do better, but he was never really put into

the race.

Sueggio had every right to double up on last year's win, but was anchored at the back off just a steady gallop and only consented to run

on when the race was over. Not one to be backing at shortish odds.

An excellent performance by Glamorous Crescent , front rank all the way, as predicted, and having plemty left for the final push.

I Napped the in form Ever Rock under a workable penalty and the little beauty came late and fast to win well at 10/1

Nice to have adrenalin pumping again with two to go for multi players, but Earl of Harrow ran unaccountably poorly while Christmas

Night ran only a fair race and still a bit below top form.

I keep a close eye on the weather and check for any going changes on a day like today with rain about, but Beverley was confident of the

ground staying on the quick side, ideal conditions for Low Profile, but horror of horrors, they got it totally wrong and the tip struggled on

the soft ground.

Cent Flying looked like he had kicked for glory, but had less in the tank than expected and eventually was just outside the frame .

I napped Mr Mafia , who travelled pretty well, but struggled a bit when the leaders quickened, only to battle back but eventually faded.

Hard to be sure if he still needed this run or if he is not in the same form as last year. Not one to give up on us .

Wednesday- Tadaawool couldn't continue his love affair with Carlisle off the testing mark, trying to do too much too early

Nicklaus looked very much as he was going to collect making all at Salisbury , but was chinned late on by a withering run by the fav who

had looked in trouble for most of the race.

Where's jeff was never far away and battled on courageously to land the bets at 5/1

The Nap Big Lachie, as predicted was  outpaced good style early on unable to go the frantic early pace, but they were sure to come back

to him and he came from last to first to in the end win cosily @ 8/1

Thursday - I thought it was worth putting up Militia but he drifted alarmingly in the market and and after showing up early on weakened

out of it . It looked a winnable race and an unlikely outsider prevailed. not sure what to make of militia, but probabky worth another

chance, at a price.

Rebel State did what was expected hitting the frame @ 14/1 , but we were very unlucky not to collect with Ephius, who just couldn't get

any room late on , but failed only by a short head at 11/2

Friday- Antico Lady ran her race at Newcastle, but jusr came up short , finishing 5th , bjut beaten less then haf a length

It was a disappointing run by Ascot Dreamer who struggled to go the early pace and only finished mid div.

More was expected by Geetanjali despite her long odds in the small field, but she held every chance but was pretty well beaten. Could

be that the handicapper is now in charge.

The Nap, Gabriel the Tiger, as prediced led them on the rails, but had unwelcome company from Sparkelot , and this pair shot some way

clear, but it looked only a matter of time before the cavalry arrived. Great credit to the tip for shrugging aside his persistent challenger and

battling on well to claim 3rd .

Saturda Wentworth Falls looked to be travelling plenty well enough , but looked short of toe when the leaders quickened but kept on well

to be 5th in the big field

Hayidh for once did not run his race , and hard to know why.

Oh this is Us also put in a rare bad one, but was held up way off the pace, but when let down found surprisingly little, but maybe the  very

quick ground was the reason.

Powerailed looked set to land the nap but struggled late on to pass the leader and went down by half a length . A race he should have

won and is now looking hard to win with

Sunday- Dino Velvet looked very likely to be involved in the finish but founf disappointngly little late on finishing juat outside the places in

Solar Impulse probably went off too quickly and to his credit came back for more once passed, but the early efforts told late on finishing

a brave 2nd

junoesque landed the Nap in typically gritty style at the rewarding odds of 11/1.
