Selected York- soft ground on this flat and galloping track
1.50 A tricky opener as quite a few of these 2yos have showed decent form in their short careers, and are of course open to improvement, but the nod goes to Hurstwood, who’s run two good races coming off the pace and soft ground no issue.
¼ p win Hurstwood @ 7/2
2.20 PREMIUM RACE
2.55 A massive field for this valuable juvenile seller , and a few of these are dropped on grade and bring decent form to the table, but the nod goes to the front running Calippo , who lost little in defeat last time when battling on bravely to be 3rd on soft ground at Ponty , and this easier track will suit.
¼ pt win Calippo @ 4/1
3.30 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Sandown -soft ground on this stiff and galloping track
2.00 Should be a facile win for Dream Kart, who has easily the best form , handles the mud and this stiff C&D holds no fears, but is 1/2.
2.35 Visible Charm’s good 2nd came on much quicker ground and over a shorter trip, so may not be the good thing he looks.
3.10 A weak event and despite Ouzo racing under a 6 pound penalty and dropping in trip, is still the odds on fav, but hard to argue with that.
3.45 C Note comes into this in decent form and no issues with the ground or probably C&D and could possibly try and lead this all the way.
¼ pt win C Note @ 11/2
Chepstow and Newton Abbot abandoned
No advice from Fairyhouse

Ship of the Fern 7.10 @ 15/8

Macqeez 8.00 @ 2/1
Groveman 7.30 @ 2/1
Selected Cork – good ground on this flat and galloping track
Rain forecast later, so could go softer
5.50 The very wonderful El Astronaute is firmly in many racing fans lists of favourite current racehorses, but fair to say he’s dropped his guard a few times of late and could have been doing better. However I always take note of anything crossing the Irish Sea and this usually bold front runner, could be very hard to pass. There is a pretty strong home challenge with Smash Williams and Primo Uomo the biggest dangers. The tip wouldn’t mind any rain and this C&D could suit really well.
½ pt win El Astronaut @ 9/2
6.20 A couple of last time winners in Black Martin, who is unexposed and could be up to overcoming the penalty and Face Off, who improved significantly when dropping to this trip for the first time, but the 9 pound hit looks very harsh going up in grade . The flying Baily will try and make all and could take some catching, but the nod goes to the in form mare Aspen Belle who is 2 from 2 here and will be finishing strongly .
¼ pt win Aspen Belle @ 11/2
7.25 This has a winnable look to it with many with questions to answer at this trip. Inscribe is a cracking racehorse who comes here on the back of a good win at Navan , over a bit further, but fine at this trip. He’s tactically versatile and can enhance his enviable win record.
¾ pt win Inscribe @ 7/2
8.00 A big field maiden and some big stables do run lightly raced sorts, but no getting away from Mackqeez who after a promising debut was severely flattered in group company and now has a rating of 97, which flatters him by around 2 stone, but he has run to a level of 73 in his other two races, which would probably be good enough to land this and he has recently joined the strong stable of Ger Lyons, who has a terrific record with new intakes. He ran well on his comeback race when trying to make all at Naas and only gave best late on. Looks a good fav.
¾ pt win Mackqeez @ 2/1
Selected Aintree- soft ground on this flat and galloping track
A special hello to my dear friend , the very lovely Dr Colette Alicia McElroy and friends. The course wont be making that mistake again !!
5.55 Stop Talking certainly knows how to win with 4 wins in her last 6 races, but of course the handicapper has got serious. Her winning spree began off a mark of only 98 and is now rated 118 ! She ran below expectations off this mark over this C&d last time, but that was a much hotter race than this and with soft ground a plus, can get us off to the best possible start.
½ pt win Stop Talking @ 4/1
6.25 Only one of these 3yos has experience over hurdles, but Maria Magdelena’s run hardly set the pulses racing. This looks a straight battle between Must See The Doc and War Eagle, who were both decent types on the flat for good stables, but the latter could just stay the better.
¼ pt win War Eagle @ 11/4
7.00 Only four go but not easy to be sure. Minella Dandy comes here on a hat-trick, but softer ground not great and has a hefty penalty. The likeable Minellacelebration has his first start for over a year, which itself is not a huge turn off, but is another who could find the ground too soft. The front running Tanarpino is back on a good mark and soft ground no issue and with Champion Jockey Dicky Johnson in the saddle, looks the one.
1/4 pt win Tanarpino @ 7/2
7.30 The consistent Groveman deserves a win and this should be it, coming here on the back of two most solid runs at around this trip and ground.
¾ pt win Groveman @ 2/1
8.05 The once useful Fago is hard to fancy, but the other three all have clear claims. Both Ashoka and Capital Force come here on the back of wins, but are accordingly penalised , which makes the likeable grey Theflyingportrait of interest. He’s at his best when allowed to dominate and looks the certain front runner in this. He’s on a far mark, but soft ground not ideal, but possibility of drying ground, so he’ll do for me.
½ pt win Theflyingportrait @ 9/2
8.35 A very open contest where most can be considered but I did like Jessiemac’s winning performance last time out, her first try at this trip and only a small penalty.
¼ pt win Jessiemac @ 9/1
Selected Goodwood- good ground on this undulating, sharp and tricky track
6.05 Plenty of these have it to prove at this trip and on soft ground. The fav is hat-trick seeking Cardano , who is proven on the ground but the longer trip a worry. Edmond Dante comes here on the back of a good 2nd at this trip at Haydock in a good little race and has run well on soft ground.
½ pt win Edmond Dante @4/1
6.35 Diva Kareem has easily the best form, but it did come on the Kempton polytrack, so very different track and ground today enough to put me off this odds on shot.
7.10 The in form Rydan goes well here but soft ground no help. The lightly raced Mugatoo impressed at Doncaster at this trip, but on quick ground. He has won on soft . but did struggle a bit to prevail. Ship of the Fen won well on his first run for Ian Williams at this trip at Salisbury and with soft ground no issue, strong claims tonight.
¾ pt win Ship of The Fen @ 15/8
