Selected Carlisle – good to soft , but ground is drying. The track is undulating, galloping and stiff
2.00 The short priced fav is the Archie Watson juvenile Space ace who was expected to make a winning debut in a modest affair on the all weather, but was turned over and looks only modest. After a forgettable debut, Troubadour has run two might races, and this C&D and ground hold no fears and looks well capable of lumping his big weight to victory.
¾ pt win Troubadour @ 9/4
3.00 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 Im Dapper Two is getting no younger and hasn’t won for a while, but has responded pretty well to the handicapper’s generosity, and back to his favourite C&D, on ideal ground and a good draw a lively longshot.
¼ pt ew Im Dapper Two @ 16/1
4.00 This wont take much winning and Saikung comes out just best at the weights and trip.
¼ pt win Saikung @ 5/2
4.30 None of these have runs the victory bell of late which offers a very decent opportunity to the ex- Irish Rosin Box, who has recently joined the stable of the upwardly mobile Tristan Davidson, and has run with credit in both of his starts for the stable.
½ pt win Rosin Box @ 7/2
5.00 The better ground is in the favour of the in form Sioux Frontier and can get back on track
¼ pt win Sioux Frontier @ 11/4
Catterick- soft ground on this undulating and sharp track
Not much catches the eye and just a few plays.
3.45 PREMIUM RACE
5.15 On soft ground here it’s best to be drawn wide, which may help the flying Raucous to dominate from flagfall and can keep it going all the way off this mark.
¼ pt win Raucous @ 11/2
No Catterick placepot
Selected Windsor- good to soft, but ground is drying
The track is flat and galloping
5.40 PREMIUM RACE
6.40 It was quite a deep contest when Raahy was just run out of it at Donny, when going with the face and only narrowly going down. His experience could be the deciding factor and well drawn to nab the favoured stands rails. Quite a few newcomers here from strong stables and wearing famous colours, but would need to run to a good level to beat the tip.
½ pt win Raahy @ 11/4
7.0 You can pick big holes in the chances of almost all of these in terms of trip, ground, mark or form. The in form Sir Roderic is a bit high in the weights and in grade , but still comes out just the best.
¼ pt win Sir Roderic @ 3/1
7.40 PREMIUM RACE
8.10 A very weak maiden with an odds on shot in Hamish, who’s with a big stable and ran well on debut, but was very badly behaved next time and was eventually withdrawn. This could give the edge to the clear danger Knowing.
1/4pt win Knowing @ 3/1
Selected Nottingham- heavy ground on this flat and galloping track
6.20 The in form James Watt could struggle back up in trip on deep ground, but all of Aplomb, Welcoming and Lady Calicia have good form in the mud. I’m trying Welcoming on her first start for Mark Johnston and was fav for her recent comeback spin, so clearly better was expected .
1/4pt Win Welcoming @ 5/1
6.50 Hawaam doesn’t win as many as he should, but drops in grade and comes here on the back of good efforts in the mud and over C&D. Despite the big weight, still looks a penalty kick.
½ pt win Hawaam @ 11/8
7.50 Plenty of these have it to prove at this longer trip in the mud which gives Tails I Win a chance as his recent Ok 4th came on deep ground , which could be enough to land this.
1/4pt Win Tails I Win @ 6/1
8.20 Snooker Jim has yet to nail one but comes here in fine form and has his best form over this C&D on heavy ground . The unexposed Fitzrovia handled the mud good style last time , but goes up in trip and this could come a bit soon. Hat-trick seeking Fly Time returns from a break and wins came on the all weather , off lower marks and shorter trips. The tip wont get a better chance.
½ pt ew Snooker Jim @ 9/2
Selected Kilbeggan- good ground on this undulating and sharp track
6.00 everlastingpromise has the current best form at the trip and on the ground and an ew play should do little damage.
¼ pt ew Everlastingpromise @ 4/1
6.30All four of these young hurdlers come into this in winning form, but all are taking a big step up in trip, so form could go one way or the other. Noel Meade has won this twice with just 3 runners, which makes the chance of the prolific Jerandme more the sweeter.
½ pt win Jerandme @ 11/8
7.00 Eimarr has gone mighty close in her last two runs and a deserved win can drop her way .
¼ pt win Eimarr @ 4/1
7.30 An open handicap and the in form CoralBlue , who goes well here, is sure to tun his race despite the higher grade and mark. The bang in form veteran King of Brega is not weighted out of this and can run well fresh. Silver Star is another with claims in an open event.
¼ pt ew The King of Brega @ 7/1
8.00 Brahma Bull returned from a long break with a fluent win , but could well bounce so preference is for the consistent and useful Ravenhill , who has taken well to fences.
1/2pt Win Ravenhill @ 7/4
8.30 A very open chase and chances can be given to many but the nod goes to the back to form Supreme Vinnie, who goes well here on the ground.
¼ pt win Supreme Vinnie @ 8/1
