Today’s Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles, 4 25 trebles & 50p ew acca
Darcy Ward 4.05 @ 4/1
Highwaygrey 2.45 @ 4/1
Dawaaleeb 3.55 @ 7/2
Beryl The Petal 4.35 @ 4/1
Selected Redcar- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
2.45 Highwaygrey is holding his form well and lost little in defeat last time. No issues with ground trip or probably track and a nice bet at the odds.
½ pt win Highwaygrey @ 4/1
3.55 Dawaaleeb continues to battle hard and well despite being on a testing enough mark, but this is a good opportunity down in grade and with soft ground no issue
½ pt win Dawaaleeb @ 7/2
4.35 It God loves a trier he will surely smile upon the luckless Beryl The Petal today as she frequently hits the bar and runs her race whatever is chucked at her. Despite the big field, most solid claims.
½ pt win Beryl The Petal @ 4/1
Selected Market Rasen- probably good ground on this sharp and mostly flat track
1.50 Whisky and Water ran pretty well on debut bit it was at Hexham , a stayers’ track and on soft ground so today’s speed test may well not suit. What Will Be comes here in fair form from the flat and as a middle distance type, should have no problem staying this distance. Olly Murphy has a terrific record here, as does Aidan Coleman, so looks a nice bet.
½ pt win what Will Be @ 6/1
2.20 Hurricane Rita firmly has her mojo back after two wins over fences, but is creeping up the weights on he return to hurdles. Rococo Style is not goimg badly and worth s dabble in a weak heat.
¼ pt win Rococo Style @ 6/1
3.30 Diamond Rose improved significantly last time beating a reliable one at Ludlow and the penalty could have been harsher. Worth a dabble in a winnable race.
¼ pt win Diamond Rose @ 6/1
4.05 A good quality event and another decent opportunity for the 4 timer chasing Darcy Ward, who is likely to take these along and has proved to be most versatile in terms of trip, track and ground. The 4 pound hit could have been far harsher and could take some catching.
¾ p win Darcy Ward @ 4/1
Market Rasen placepot
Royal Ascot- good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
3.05 The King Edward VII Group 2 stakes.
After his excellent 3rd in The Epsom Derby, it’s understandable that Japan is a very warm order for this , but there are some progressive types in this contest, but a surprise if the fav can’t land this.
3.40 Likely that the same colours as the previous race will be paraded around the Winners’ Circle with the classy Ten Sovereigns, unbeaten last year and looked a non stayer in the Guineas. Despite decent opposition , hard to beat.
½ pt double japan @ 5/4 Ten Sovereigns @ 5/4
4.20 PREMIUM RACE
5.00 PREMIUM RACE
5.35 PREMIUM RACE
Royal Ascot placepot
Selected Newmarket- probably good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track.
5.05 Hard to fancy many in this modest event for apprentice jockeys, the exception is the in form Marshal Dan who landed a similar event at Salisbury last time, under the same jockey and is only 3 pounds higher. The track and ground are fine but he does go up in trip, but does shape as the extra yardage is within his compass.
¾ pt win Marshall Dan @ 3/1
5.40 The two at the top of the top of the handicap , in Universal Order and American Graffiti have both done little wrong in all of their races. We haven’t seen American Graffiti for 4 months and as this one’s only ever run on the all weather, preference for Universal Order who impressed when landing a small field maiden last time , putting him on a realistic mark.
1/ 2 pt win Universal Order @ 5/1
6.45 Not a deep contest and the bookies have this right concentrating on the obvious ones in Osho, House Deposit, Maqaader and My boy Lewis, but preference is for the latter , with solid runs at this trip in slightly better company.
½ pt win My Boy Lewis @ 4/1
7.15 Akwaan is bred to be pretty good and runs for a top stable and a high profile owner, but hasn’t clicked yet . The drop in trip is a help as should be the first time cheekpieces which the stale uses effectively .
¼ pt win Akwaan @ 9/1
7.50 Agincourt is a cracking filly and despite now being on a testing mark, could get way with it in this grade and another big run is on.
½ pt win Agincourt @ 5/2
8.55 The in form and likable pair of Honey GG and Precious Plum are likely to go off hard , but both are on high marks and are better on the all weather. The strong pace will be an aid for the late player Princess Keira, well capable of landing this finale.
½ pt win Princess Keira @ 9/2
Selected Goodwood- good ground on this undulating, sharp and tricky track
6.55 Just Benjamin has impressed winning his last two runs and is the one to beat in this, but 5/4 pretty short.
7.30 Sapa Inca nailed a deserved win last time but could be vulnerable on drying ground and a higher mark. The late player Dono Di Dio is a credit for connections with a win and 5 good seconds in her last 6 and this could drop her way.
½ pt win Dono Di Dio @ 6/1
8.00 Kodiac Pride impressed last time and will be hard to beat, but at a shade of odds on, I can pass.
Selected Ayr- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.55 Full marks to Jackhammer, 3 wins and 2 thirds in his last 5 runs and could get way with the 5 pound hit in this weak event for lady amateur jockeys. The veteran Haymarket is very in and out but has run big races in this event the last two seasons , both times coming into the race in poor form, just like today !
1/4pt win Haymarket @ 10/1
6.30 After landing a hat-trick in bumpers, which takes some doing, Alright Sunshine has run two big races on the flat, running to a good level of 90, which would be well enough to land this , but he is dropping markedly in trip and has a couple of interesting rivals to overcome. Match Maker hasn’t been seen for two years but remains with a top stable and a high profile owner, so the ability could still be there while Noble Prospector has run solid races in all 3 tries and as this is his trip and probably ok on the track, nice odds to come out on top.
½ pt win Noble Prospector @ 3/1
7.05 Question of Faith has crucially a good record here and can be excused a lesser run last time on deep ground. She is on a tough enough mark, but drops in grade and worth a dabble.
¼ pt win question of Faith @ 11/2
8.10 The prolific Redarna comes here on a hat-trick and comes here on the back of a career best run at Carlisle on easy ground. He’s up 5 pounds but is a 4 time C&d winner . Not an easy task for him , but is clearly thriving. I prefer C&d winner Tommy G who won well here last time .
¼ pt win Tommy G @ 5/1
8.45 We know most of these very well and are rightfully labelled modest so worth trying the speedy youngster in Vee Man Ten who ran well for a long way at Haydock last time in deep ground in a far better race. The better ground and shorter trip could make him hard to catch.
½ pt win Vee Man Ten @ 4/1
