Pinatubo 2.30 @ 7/2
Space Blues 3.05 @ 3/1
Masar 3.40 @ 3/1
Blue Point 4.20 @ 7/4
6 50 doubles 4 25 trebles & 50p ew acca
Fastman 3.10 @ 15/8
Ascended 2.45 @ 3/1
Moqtarrab 4.00 @ 7/2
Strong Team5.25 @ 7/1
Selected Redcar – good ground on this flat and galloping track
2.05 Not a deep contest at all and despite a 4 pound hit for a most overdue win, Angel Gabrial doesn’t have a stiff task and could double up.
¼ pt win Angel Gabriel @ 11/2
2.40 This is fiercely competitive but the nod goes to recent winner Citron Major, who won well enough to be a factor in this despite the penalty. Comes out just the best on the ground.
¼ pt win Citron Major @ 9/1
3.15 Not a deep contest which is sure to be raced at a furious pace with at least three front runners , who are all hard to fancy. Enchanted Linda is knocking on the door, but the nod goes to Key To Power, as a strongly run race at this trip looks ideal.
½ pt win Key To Power @ 7/1
5.55 I’ve been following Someone Exciting of late, but things haven’t quite dropped for her , but in a likely strongly run sprint and off a good mark , her strong finish could just win the day.
¼ pt ew Someone Exciting @ 9/1
Selected Newmarket- good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
1.40 Saqqara King ran well on debut and not badly priced to land this maiden.
¾ pt win Saqqara King @ 4/5
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
2.45 This looks between Ascended, She’s Got You and Mulan, but as the latter is up in grade after a hard fought victory and She’s Got You returning from a break, I’m with Ascended , who’s done little wrong in all 3 runs and on a very fair mark on handicap debut.
½ pt win Ascended @ 3/1
3.20 Cadre DE Noir showed promise In his only run last season and that form is strong enough to land this.
¼ pt win Cadre Du Noir @ 4/1
4.00 Moqtarrab ran a cracker here on comeback and was far from disgraced next time when third in a handicap. and looks a very nice bet to break his duck in a winnable contest.
½ pt win Moqtarrab @ 7/2
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Perth – good ground on this flat and pretty sharp track
2.20 The ex- Irish Cesar Du Gouet won well last time, but did have a simple task. He’s only 4 pounds higher and looks very good to double up as both Old Salt and welcome Ben would prefer longer trips.
¾ pt win cesat Do Gouet @ 6/4
3.30 Gordon Elliot sends a couple across The irish sea, but both Ned stark and Out Sam are hard to fancy on drying ground. Both Katgarry and Royal Village won well last time, but under penalties, I prefer the chance of the capable Viens Charger, who made a right fist of it last time against an improver.
½ pt win Viens Charger @ 9/2
5.25 Youngster Strong Team always runs his race and has held his form well since landing a win over C&d on similar ground. He shaped up oK on his recent comeback spin and like his chance.
½ pt win Strong Team @ 7/1
Selected Ayr- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.00 Most of these are late players so with little early pace on this could be a steadily run affair, which will favour the ones ridden prominently . the capable Just Hiss signalled a return to form last time, and as he stays further than this , if leading, could surprise.
¼ pt ew Just Hiss @ 14/1
3.10 This is not a deep contest and offers a clear opportunity for the inform Fastman.
¾ pt win Fastman @ 15/8
4.25 This is the kind of race I like, but having difficulties finding the right one. Main In India could have problems at this trip on quick turf under a penalty , but is still likely to be front rank, along with speedball Merry Banter , and as they are drawn wide apart, the draw should be immaterial. The nod goes to Heartwarming who ran well on her comeback race and he top stable had come some way for this.
¼ pt win Heatwarming @ 6/1
5.05 The lightly raced Indianopilis has run two mighty races this season, the most recent off this testing mark when coming from way back to be 6th of 18 in a very hot York handicap, and the placed horses have done really well since.
½ pt win Indiananoplis @ 5/1
5.40 The strong finishing Athollblair Boy is holding his form really well but fair to have been more confident with a more positive jockey booking as the rider is still seeking a first winner.
¼ pt ew Atholblair Boy @ 10/1
Royal Ascot- good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
2.30 Despite the big field and also as all of these juveniles are unexposed, there is a very short priced fav in Lope Y Fernando, who won well on debut for Aiden O’Brien, but it did come on easy ground , so I prefer the chance of Godolphin’s Pinatubo, who was all over the place at Epsom in the Woodcote, but once getting into the straight he flew home. This longer trip and more conventional track are obvious positives.
¾ pt win Pinatubo @ 7/2
3.05 The drying ground is no help to mudlark Happy Power while the extra furlong could catch out the classy So Perfect. Space Blues destroyed field of handicappers recently and went on to win comfortably at Epsom. He’s 2 from 2 at this trip and could get the hat-trick.
¾ pt win Space Blues @3/1
3.40 Last year’s Derby winner Masar returns to duties after a year off, but connections must be confident that he’s in the kind of shape to do himself justice. He brings the best form to the race and is 1 from 1 at this trip. Another big runner for Godolphin.
¾ pt win Masar @ 3/1
4.20 the crack sprinter landed the Kings Stand a few days ago here and horses landing this double is not unique. There is a stack of early pace in this field which brings his flying finish firmly into the equation. Very hard to beat.
1pt win Blue Point @ 15/8
5.00 PREMIUM RACE
5.35 The final race in yet another excellent Royal Ascot and this is the longest event of the meeting, The Queen Alexandra Stakes. Last year’s winner Pallisator comes to defend his crown, but it requires a leap of faith to support him after two poor efforts of late. Max dynamite is clearly the one to beat at the weights, but as he has a rotten win record , easy to look elsewhere. Cleonte and Corelli have to make the short list but the pair that catch my eye are a pair of very useful chasers in Black Corton and Younevercall, both rated 156 over fences, which equates to a lofty 110 on the flat, so have to try Black Corton at such long odds and he runs this track well over fences.
¼ pt ew Black Corton @ 14/1
Selected Lingfield- good to soft but ground drying on this undulating and sharp track
5.45 Hallabalu got going too late on her first start for William Haggas, but still ran well. that form is well good enough to get compensation.
¾ pt win Hallalulu @ 7/2
6.15 Not a deep contest and the door may well finally open for the consistent Mistress Nellie, second in her last three runs including over C&D and on a variety of ground.
¼ pt win Mistress Nellie @ 9/2
6.45 the tough and reliable Berrharri looks sure to run his race again and a deserved win can drop his way. The back to form El Borracho is the danger.
¼ pt win Berrharri @ 11/2
7.15 Infanta Isabella has a massive 10 pound penalty for a good recent win and also drops in trip. The reliable Chica De La noche looks a good bet despite the step up in grade.
½ pt win Chica De La Noche @ 11/2
8.15 Despite the big field , few come here with serious claims. Chikoko Trail has finally responded to the drop in the ratings with an improved effort last time and will do for me at long odds.
¼ pt ew Chikoko Trail @ 16/1
8.45 It wasn’t the greatest race ever when Alliseeisnibras just finished head of Gambon and Ricochet , so the door looks open for Real Smooth to finally open her account.
¾ pt win Real Smooth @ 7/4
Selected Haydock- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
6.30 Swift Wing was a costly failure here last time on very deep ground and you can pick a few holes in his form so prefer the chance of Paths Of Glory, who ran well on a recent debut at this trip and similar ground.
¼ pt win Paths of Glory @ 4/1
7.00 Not a deep handicap and a clear chance for the in form Boundary Lane with good runs over C&D and on the ground.
½ pt win Boundary Lane @ 2/1
8.00 the drop in trip and softer ground may well not help Mayfair Spirit who is high enough in the weights anyway. A very solid chance for the in form Amadeus grey despite a nudge up the weights.
½ pt win Amadeus grey @ 3/1
8.30 Calder Prince has a good record here on this type of ground and gas dropped to a really good mark. He’s been unlucky in the draw of late but has still run Ok races and a clear chance tonight.
½ pt win Calder Prince @ 13/2
9.00 An uninspiring finale and the nod goes to the lightly raced Universal Effect who has showed enough to land this.
¼ pt win Universal Effect @ 4/1
