Today’s Fortune for a fiver
3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Burj 3.00 @ 4/1
Gone Platinum 4.10 @ 5/2
Singing The Blues 6.40 @ 10/3
Selected Carlisle- good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.00 Asmund ran really well on debut on the York mud and is 1/4 to collect today but there’s a decent w alternative in Auckland Lodge , who ran a race full of promise on debut at Hamilton on fast ground so this C&D likely to suit as is the ground.
¼ pt ew Auckland Lodge @ 8/1
3.00 Plenty of in form types but the front running Redarna has the worst of the draw and in now on a very tough mark. Storm ahead was well backed last time to notch an overdue win, but drying ground and a penalty no help. The prolific Jackhammer would do well to feature down in trio but up in the ratings and grade while another last time winner in Smugglers Creek could struggle up in trip. Godolphin sends the capable Burg on the 550 mile round trip and on his best form has strong claims. He won twice last year but then struggled up in grade and on a testing mark. His comeback run was a promising effort at Newmarket when 4th at this trip, just beaten a few lengths and after a break ran just an ok race at Nottingham, but that did look a warm heat and this more searching C&D is too his advantage. He really should be nailing this.
¾ pt win Burj @ 4/1

4.00 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 The Irish raider Viadera has a cosy advantage at the weights and is well drawn. She landed a handicap off a lofty mark last time at a longer trip so this testing C&D should hold no terrors.
½ pt win Viadera @ 7/4
Selected Ffos Las on this flat and galloping track
2.10 New Millenium was inconvenienced last time with other front runners to contend with, but as he’s likely to have his own way up front today , could take a bit of catching.
¼ pt win New Millenium @ 6/1
2.40 No problems here for the useful Longhouse Sale, who will surely go 8 from 8, but is 1/6, but that represents 17% return on your wedge for 5 minutes work. Only a fall could stop him collecting.
3.10 Potterman looked really good when winning at Worcester on his chase debut and despite the penalty the double looks on, but only evens
3.40 This is very weak and should be going to Nicky Henderson’s Nonesuch who has showed well enough in bumpers to be far better than these.
¼ pt win Nonesuch @ 9/4
4.10 Absolute full marks for Gone Platinum with 4 wins and 2 seconds in his last 6 and comes here on the back of a long priced win at Market Rasen over fences foiling one in search of a 4 timer. Before that he was a cosy winner over C&D and in a most winnable event, another big run is on the cards.
¾ pt win Gone Platinum @ 5/2
4.40 You could make a case for most of these but the front running Aubisson continues to run well and could take a bit of catching.
¼ pt win Aubisson @ 13/2
Ffos Las placepot
Selected Salisbury – good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.20 This doesn’t look a deep maiden and it should go to Wightman, a promising 2nd here on debut but on soft ground and a shorter trip, but no reason why today’s conditions wont suit.
¼ pt win Wightman @ 2/1
2.50 The drying ground is not in the favour of the consistent Harry Hurricane , but is still likely to run a bold race from the front , but the in form veterans in Foxy Forever and Waseem Faris could well fight this out with preference for the latter, who runs this C&D really well.
½ pt win Waseem Faris @ 9/2
3.20 The two with decent experience in Sword Beach and Atmospheric are the ones to concentrate upon , but as the latter ‘s good run came on quick ground, gets the nod.
¼ pt win Atmospheric @ 5/2
3.50 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 The reliable and tough Ravenous likes this C&D and comes here in his usual good form. He’s likely to take these along and wont fail for the lack of trying.
¼ pt ew Ravenous @ 15/2
Selected Kempton- all weather- polytrack
5.15 The clear form horse is Comeonfeelthenoise and remains on a workable mark and fine on the surface, but the drop in trip is a clear worry but this is hardly a deep contest. Islay Mist has run a couple of decent races of late off this mark and surface and shapes as this longer trip is fine. Nor badly drawn and as this is a race for apprentices, a most lively longshot.
¼ pt ew Islay Mist @ 16/1
5.50 The best form on show is comfortably that of topkapi Star whose 3rd on debut was a good effort, but it did come on soft turf in a small field, but the top stable does very well here with its juveniles and looks a nice bet at the odds to put his experience to good use.
½ pt win Topkapi Star @ 11/4
6.50 Chloellie has a terrific record around here with 5 wins and 2 places from just 9 tries ! She is now on a testing mark , but could well get away with it in this modest heat. She has been unlucky in the draw but with Oisin Murphy in the saddle, will have maximum assistance.
½ pt win Chloellie @ 7/2
Selected Bath- good to firm on this sharp yet stiff track
6.10 PREMIUM RACE
6.40 The bookies make this a 3 horse war and hard to disagree. Of that trip I have least regard for moghram who has only run well once in 3 tries and also has stamina to prove. Enhanced ran well on his handicap debut giving the impression this stiffer task would suit but preference is for the ultra consistent and determined Singing The Blues, whose last 8 runs have realised 4 wins and 4 seconds . He’s now on a testing mark, but won here on similar ground a few starts back and today’s longer trip a positive.
¾ pt win Singing The Blues @10/3
8.40 The lightly raced Freckles sluiced in over C&D when last seen , a few months back, looking ahead of the game and capable despite the 6 pound hit, but few racecourse appearances suggest fragility. A number of these are regulars here , none more so than veteran Mister Musicmaster, 4 times a C&D winner from 22 tries, but wins hard to come by in recent years but comes here on the back of an improved run last time and is on a good mark.
¼ pt ew Mister Musicmaster @ 10/1
9.10 Dark Shadow is a young sprinter in the up and after landing a cosy win over C&d did well coming off the pace at Windsor to again win decisively and looks capable of overcoming the 4 pound penalty .
¾ pt win Dark Shadow @ 4/1
