Molly Mai 2.15 @ 4/1
Pike Corner Cross 5.15 @ 12/1
Celtic Artisan 5.00 @ 9/1
Lightning Dance 5.45 @ 9/2
Selected Ponty- good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
2.00 Hard to argue with the bookies in this and the winner is likely to come from the top three in the market in the inform track specialist Tricky Dicky, who was poorly drawn last time , but has a harsh penalty and drying ground not idea’. He will try and make all , as will the in form and well drawn Scuzeme , so the nod goes to the in form Mujassam , who is now on a tough mark, but has the best race make up for a finisher despite the wide draw.
¼ pt win Mujassam @ 11/2
3.00 Cale Lane goes well over C&d and on quick ground. Nicely drawn to lead up and can’t see any of these catching her.
¾ pt win Cale Lane @ 5/2
4.00 Not much between al of these at the weights, but the form of Norternpowerhouse looks the stronger and acts on stiff tracks.
½ pt win Northernpowerhouse @ 7/4
4.30 Smile A Mile comes here with 2 wins in his last 3 but has a hefty penalty and best form on flat tracks. Casement has run well in both runs here and is a longshot likely to give us a good run for our money probably from the front.
½ pt ew Casement @ 16/1
5,.00 Agar’s plough ran well here over shorter and comes here on the back of a good effort at Beverley at this trip. He has a good rider in this race for lady amateur jockeys but has yet to win and has been off the track for 2 months. The nod goes to the in form Celtic Artisan and this versatile type handles the ground and the track.
¼ pt ew Celtic Artisan @ 9/1
Selected Wolver – all weather- tapeta
2.15 Not much between all of these on official ratings, but few are running close to their marks. In Trutina won well a few starts ago but as she has to be trusted both up in trip and on the surface, preference is for the consistent if frustrating Moly Mai, who’s been holding her form well of late and has a good 3rd over C&D on her CV. Strong finisher and 7 pound claimer rides her well.
½ pt win Molly Mai @ 4/1
2.45 At the ratings the capable veteran has plenty in hand over mostly modest rivals, and you would expect him with about a stone in hand to take this without any fuss, but he’s getting no younger and his best form comes on the Southwell fibresand. But his 2nd here earlier in the season would probably be good enough to land this. He comes here on the back of a disappointing 2nd in a claimer at Southwell two months ago and I for one wouldn’t want to be with him at short odds. It wasn’t long ago that the usually reliable Dark Side Dream was running big races off good marks in handicaps, but for some reason the wheels have severely fallen off of late and despite the big drop in grade can only be watched. He’s likely to lead and set a good pace as is the inconsistent Motajaasid, so the late player Grey Destiny could nail this at long odds as he’s a lot more reliable than most in this.
¼ pt ew Grey Destiny @ 11/1
3.45 This has a most winnable look to it and despite having to operate from a wider draw than ideal, Desconso holds his form pretty well and this is his best C&D. He’s slowly coming down the weights and capable of a surprise.
¼ pt ew Desconso @ 12/1
4.15 PREMIUM RACE
5.15 A modest finale for amateur riders and the top jockey , Simon Walker , rides the capable Allux boy, but is still 5 pounds higher for his last win. Pike Corner Cross has become hard to win with but is rarely far away and was a close 4th over C&D a few tuns back off a higher mark. He has his first run for David Evans ,so may improve a bit but the jockey is inexperienced.
¼ pt ew Pike Corner Cross @ 12/1
Selected Windsor- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.45 Big asks for both of the recent winners in Miss M and Cherry Cola, but the latter is the least exposed and is not ruled out. Lightening Dance doesn’t win many and this is as far as he likes to go, but this is a rare drop into Class 5 and as he goes well here, could notch an overdue win.
½ pt win Lightening Dance @ 9/2
7.45 PREMIUM RACE
8.45 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Catterick – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
6.00 The two penalised runners could probably still hold sway In this modest event, but both have been most unlucky in the draw.
6.30 Adam’s Ale returns from a lengthy break so despite having a massive advantage at the weights, this is far from a foregone conclusion and the quick ground and wide draw are both against him. The back to form Hard Solution also has a bad draw and this trip has caught him out before. The rest of the field have something to find at the weights, bjt with the principals looking vulnerable and with the in form B Fifty Two very hard to win with, the modest yet consistent someone Exciting could surprise.
¼ pt ew Someone Exciting @ 16/1
7.00 Dew Point nailed a rare win recently and whilst not out of this modest event, has little in hand at the weights. One of the youngsters in Robeam is rarely far away and ran well at tis trip and ground when 3rd at Redcar in a better race. This could be his big day . Veteran Jan de heem always runs well here and is well weighted but so hard to win with.
¼ pt win Robeam @ 4/1
7.30 There’s plenty of early pace on with The Defiant , timetorock and tie a Yellowribbon all known for front running so this could drop to a finisher. The fav is recent winner Kapono, but that came over a longer trip at Newcastle off a much lower mark , so while he will be finishing , likely that the line will come too soon, especially from the worst of the draw. One One seven managed a few wins last season, the latest off a higher mark than today. He’ll be running through beaten horses and is a lively longshot.
¼ pt ew One One Seven @ 22/1
8.00 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 A very weak contest and the two last time winners in Rux Ruxx and eponine could well fight tis out despite both carrying penalties and on quicker ground, but the former has run well off similar marks in the past on quick turf.
½ pt win Rux Ruxx @ 11/4
