West to Crossgales 5.15 @ 7/2
Tanrudy 2.15 @ 6/1
Selected Ayr- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
3.00 I was with Warning Fire a few days ago when she made all at Haydock, in a pretty modest event and happy to take this shortpriced fav on dropping in trip and up in the ratings with the in form Jordan Electrics , who comes here on the back of two excellent runs at Hamilton on quick ground , leading the field from flagfall both times. The fav made all at Haydock so surely will be in trouble trying to match strides with the tip. This is a very different track from Hamilton but the tip has run very well on speed tracks in the past.
¾ pt win Jordan Electrics @ 4/1
3.30 Merry Banter is a real speedball who goes well here. She’s on a testing enough mark but as her rivals are either high in the ratings, dropping in trip or better on softer ground, I’m with her to make every post a winning post.
¾ pt win Merry Banter @ 7/2
5.30 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Worcester- good to firm on this flat and galloping tracks
2.15 The veteran Cruising Bye tends to run his race but for once Sean Bowen has jumped ship leaving brother Jamie to do the steering, Sean is aboard the interesting youngster Tanrudy who had a long rear view of The Manuscrpit last time in an ok event at Warwick , and the 3 pound pull doesn’t look enough for a reversal but trained by the in form Nigel Hawke, he’s had a wind op and the stable’s % zooms from 9% to 28% on first time after a wind op. The Sean Bowen stats for this stable are also impressive with 2 wins from 5 tries at this track, so plenty of interesting data making this unexposed youngster worth a try .
½ pt win Tanrudy @ 6/1
2,45 The likeable Hunter Asockastar has a tough task back in handicap company, off a very testing mark , down in trip and first run for a small stable. You’d be a bit mad diving in on Al Shahir at short odds with 3 no completions in his last four , so worth a try on the capable and well weighted Cut the Corner.
¼ pt win Cut The Corner @ 7/1
4.45 Too Many Diamonds joined Dan Skelton just over 2 years ago on a mark of only 72, and after 7 wins is now on a mark of 120 ! He’s had little racing of late but showed last time a lot more in a far better race than this.
¼ pt win Too Many Diamonds @ 8/1
5.15 A big field for this finale but hard to get excited about the majority of these. West to Crossgales lowered the colours of the prolific Sirobbie which is comfortably the best form on view. The win came on fast ground at Fakenham , so a worry that this more galloping track could find him out , and he did run a few stinkers last year, but the 5 pound hit could have been worse and not a big ask.
½ pt win West To Crossgales @ 7/2
Selected Windsor- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.50 Not a race to get heavily involved in , a low grade sprint handicap for apprentices and with the exception of last time winner Princess Keira, who would do well to follow up with a penalty and up in trip, they are all on losing runs. The well drawn Harry Beau has dropped to a good mark and is the fav to lead these up, and In the context of this race, could be enough to nab an overdue win.
¼ pt win Harry Beau @ 6/1
6.20 Good Earth ran well over C&D last time and the winner of that race brings some substance to the form and he’s better drawn today. Irish Acclaim ran well on debut over C&D, but most of the field were newcomers, so hard to assess that run. Good Earth gets the nod.
¼ pt win Good Earth @ 3/1
7.50 Not a deep race and the good 4th over C&D by grange Walk is the stand out bit of form and he’s had valid excuses since,
7.20 Wedding date has won her last two at this trip , the latest sufficiently impressive to provide hopes for overcoming the 4 pound penalty in a winnable race.
3/4 pt win Wedding Date @ 5/2
Selected Ripon – good to firm on this undulating and quite sharp track
7.10 PREMIUM RACE
7.40 The likeable Agravain has front run his way to 3 wins in his last 4 races, but despite another lead looking likely, the 6 pound hit will test as will the upgrade. Ideological ran some fair races for Roger Varian last year and has dropped to a good mark on her first run for Mark Johnston, who does well with new intakes. Worth a dabble at the odds.
¼ pt win ideological @ 10/1
8.10 The likeable front running Sameem can be excused a below par run in the Royal Ascot mud but is still 3 pounds higher than his previous good placed efforts. He is the likely leader tonight and runs the C&d wellbut there are a couple in he field who’ll make sure he doesn’t have it his own way.Rufus King ran well at Haydock giving the impression this longer trip will help, but with his poor win record, I prefer a play in the well treated Kings Pavilion who did well last time finishing 3rd from a bad draw in a York handicap and runs this track well. he has yet to convince at this trip , but wasn’t beaten far over C&D 2 starts back off this mark. Nice odds for his chance.
¼ pt ew Kings Pavilion @ 11/1
8.40 Fairy Fast is holding her form well and the return to this C&d is a positive . Not a strong heat.
¼ pt win Fairy Fast @ 5/2
