Selected Wolver- all weather- tapeta
1.30 Hard to fancy many in this weak event so despite coming here on a long losing run, worth trying Spenny’s lass , who has dropped to a good mark, comes here in oK form She is effective over C&D and has gone close a few times of late off much higher marks, Surely can’t be far away.
½ pt ew Spenny’s Lass @ 6/1
2,35 Odds on fav here in hat-trick seeking Distant Chimes but well happy taking this one on under a big penalty and also going up in trip. The consistent Houlton comes here on the back of a good effort at Newcastle, so the surface is fine and the longer trip is in his favour. An able 7 pound claimer takes the ride and looks another very nice ew bet.
½ pt ew Houlston @ 7/1
Selected Bath- good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.45 Viers Chercher is in terrific form but has been pushed up the weights again, however this is so winnable, worth chancing as he’s sure to run his race.
¼ pt win Viers Chercher @ 9/2
5.00 This is there for the taking and a good opportunity fir the in form Chanceiton who was a close 2nd off tis mark last time and the switch to hurdles no issue.
½ pt win Chaneceiton @ 5/1
No Bangor placepot
Selected Goodwood- good ground on thus undulating, sharp and tricky track.
1.50 PREMIUM RACE
2.25 You could make a case for most of these but happy to play Old Glory, who’s he likely front runner and could surprise as he sees the trip out really well.
¼ pt ew old Glory @ 10/1
3.00 Last year’s winner Seniority has to be respected , but has found his present mark tough, but promises not to be far away. The back to form Escobar was unlucky in this last year and is another to be considered. The fav is Mojita who returned from a lengthy break to win well last time, but with types of this profile , second race back is the acid test. The back to form Gossiping has been unlucky in the draw and hard seeing him featuring off his 10 pound higher mark. The ex-French Indeed comes here on a hat-trick and the mark looks workable but is another drawn wide and question marks regarding the track. Youngster Beat The Bon also comes here on a hat-trick, but looked all out last time, so hs new mark could be too trying. I’m trying the in form What’s the Story who after landing a big field York handicap also ran well there off this mark when 3rd over a trip further than his optimum. He’s drawn well and comes here on a 850 mile round trip for Scottish trainer Keith Dalglish.
¼ pt ew What’s The Story @ 12/1
3.35 The professional punters will be emptying the piggybank to invest heavily on top class sprinter Battaash , who has at least 10 pounds in hand over his opponents and will be suited by how the race will pan out with so many front runners. Looks likely to win this with ease on the bridle, but is 1/3 !
Bath- nothing worth playing with nothing that conclusive. Just the placepot
Sorry folks, nothing at Galway either
Not much more at Newmarket
Good ground on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
5.20 PREMIUM RACE
7.30 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 This track is certainly Emily Goldfinch’s stage and comes here on the back of an excellent 2nd over C&D in a red hot race off a testing mark. She’s been nudged up the weights again, but in this lesser event and with SDS in the saddle, fully expect her to be away and gone.
¾ pt win Emily Goldfinch @ 5/2
No Newmarket placepot
Selected Musselburgh – good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.30 Bookies make this a match but my clear preference is for Saint of Katowice, a good 2nd at Redcar last time with a fair one way back in 3rd. Above has a penalty and also stamina to prove.
½ pt win Saint of Katowice @ 13/8
6.00 Colour Contrast started the season with a C&D double , but was then hit hard by the handicapper, but has held his form well since off this mark . He’s well drawn and the return to this track where his stats are 2 wins and 3 places from 6 starts makes him a very taking longshot in a winnable heat.
¼ pt ew Colour Contrast @ 12/1
6.35 Jabbarochie is terrific racehorse, 6 runs this season, 1 win, 3 2nds and 2 3rds ! he comes here on the back of another big run when 2nd at York , but has been nudged up the weights again. This looks winnable and he’ll be trying, but just a small play.
¼ pt win Jabberochie @ 9/4
7.40 Both Bumbledon and Diviner will be endeavouring to make all, but this will surely compromise each other’s chance and set this up nicely for the strong finishing Gometra Ginty, who has good enough form over c7&D to nail this.
½ pt win Gometra Ginty @ 7/2
8.10 Boudica Bay is 2 from 2 over C&D but a 5 pound hit and also being landed with the worst of he draw, makes it very tough maintaining his unbeaten record here. The inform Hard Solution is now a bit high in the weights so I’m playing C&D winner Jeffrey Harris, whose dropped to a good mark and can exploit a good draw late on.
¼ pt ew Jeffrey Harris @ 10/1
8.40 The back to form Be Perfect is now high enough in the weights and has cut little ice in 4 tries here previously. Native Fighter has been going well over hurdles and returns to the flat on a good mark and a good jockey in this race for amateur jockeys.
¼ pt win Native Fighter @ 5/2
