Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles , 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Kodicat 3.35 @ 15/8
Sword Exceed 5.10 @ 9/1
Qaysar 4.25 @ 4/1
Glutnforpunishment 5.30 @ 6/1
Selected Catterick- good to soft on this undulating and sharp track
2.00 Woven Quality brings the best form into the race and this longer trip is most likely to bring about an even better run. The draw could have been much kinder and soft ground an unknown, but likely to suit. Nice odds despite the draw .
½ pt win Woven Quality @ 11/4
2.30 A low grade sprint with the nod going to the reliable Optomickstickhill, with no issues regarding ground , draw or track.
¼ pt win Optomickstickhill @ 6/1
3.05 PREMIUM RACE
3.35 Kodicat has gone mighty close the last few runs and with the ground in his favour , as well as the C&D , this really should be her day.
¾ pt win Kodicat @ 15/8
4.10 There was little between all of Mr Greenfleet, Mightaswellsmile and Lexington Palm recently over C&d on similar ground when the former was successful, but at the revised weights and an improved draw the latter could well get revenge. Bit worried about the first time blinkers with the stable stats, but nice odds .
¼ pt ew Lexington Palm @ 12/1
5.10 Sword Exceed doesn’t get any awards for consistency, but is well good enough to land this if on a going day. He came out of the doldrums to win well at Chelmsford City 3 starts back and in two subsequent runs has had little chance from poor draws. Nicely drawn today and last year ran a good race over C&D on similar ground off a much higher mark. This looks most winnable.
½ pt win Sword Exceed @ 9/1
5.45 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Newbury- good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.45 PREMIUM RACE
3.50 Doesn’t look a deep maiden and the form showed by Chairlift Chat is good enough to land this.
¼ pt win Chairlift Chat @ 5/2
4.25 The reliable Mr Top Hat will give it a right go from the front but the combination of faster ground and shorter trip makes it likely he’ll ne rundown late on by Barryshinov and Qaysar, who look likely to fight out the finish, with the nod going to the latter , down slightly in grade.
½ pt win Qaysar @ 4/1
4.55 The step up to this trip was just what Space Ace needed when beating a big field at Lingfield. He was on the “ Golden Highway” that day, the vey favoured stands rails, but did do it well. This is not a deep nursery and decent chance of possibly making all again.
½ pt win Space Ace @ 3/1
5.30 Short priced fav in Tavus who ran well last time but didn’t look to be crying out for a longer trip, and could be vulnerable up in grade. Glutnforpunishment certainly knows where the winning line is with 3 wins in his last 4 , so of course has taken a hike in the weights. He’s 5 pounds higher for his latest win, which as usual came from the front, but ran a most respectable race at Chester last time when no match for the prolific Moon King , but finished along side a few reliable ones. With SDS aboard , could make every post a winning post.
½ pt win Glutnforpunishment @ 6/1
6.05 Ritchie Valens has yet to nail one but if you go back 3 runs , when a very good 6th of 15 in a red hot handicap , that is certainly race winning form, and Oisin Murphy could make the difference.
½ pt win Ritchie Valens @ 13/2
Selected Nottingham- soft ground on this flat and galloping track.
5.25 Sir Boris sluiced on over C&D last time on similar ground and will be hard to beat, but only evens.
6.00 Not a deep nursery and last time winner Gallaside is a short priced fav, but the win came on tapeta over shorter. Hard to find an alternative.
6.30 Madelaine Bond has a rare drop into Class 5 company and with soft ground in her favour, could end a long losing run.
¼ pt win Madelaine Bond @ 5/1
7.00 Last Look is a very short priced fsv but her debut win came on polytrack, so may not be buying money @ 1/3.
7.30 There’s been money for the unexposed Cinzanto in a race which wont take much winning.
¼ pt win Cinzanto @ 5/1
8.00 Hard to pick between Spanish Aria, Lady Scatterley and Overthumped.
8.30 Good opportunity for the inform Gregarian Girl in a weak finale , but 5/4 too short for me.
Selected Ripon- good to soft on this undulating and quite sharp track
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
6.20 Cloudea will be hard to beat after a good win over C&d but does carry a penalty against some unexposed types.
6.50 A very tricky nursery and the fav and topweight in Isobar Wind only won a seller over C&D last time.
7.20 A very tricky 4 runner race where none can be ruled out
7.50 Another very tricky contest with no stand out contender.
8.20 Euro Implosion has gone close a few times of late including over C&D on similar ground and a deserved first win could drop his way tonight. Last time winner Gold Arch is now on a testing mark and a bigger danger is the well treated Menin Gate.
¼ pt win Euro Implosion @ 11/4
No Ripon placepot
