Kentford Heiress 2.40 @ 14/1
Bounty Pursuit 2.50 @ 11/4
Petrus 3.00 @ 14/1
Selected Stratford- good ground on this flat and sharp track
Mostly low grade affairs with horses with poor win records , so just having the one play.
2.40 A good quality Class 3 Chase and the well treated and down In grade More Buck’s for once is likely to have his own way up front and could take some catching around this sharp track , but recent runs could have been more encouraging. Kentford Heiress is at the very top of her game and after landing a double, lost little in defeat when a close 3rd at Newton Abbot in higher grade and this longer trip is in her favour. Really good longshot.
½ pt ew Kentford Heiress @14/1
Selected Chepstow- probably good ground on this undulating, galloping and quite stiff track
2.50 Despite the big field few come here with high hopes and this offers a terrific opportunity for recent winner Bounty Pursuit, who has no penalty for the win. He was running plenty of big races last season off higher marks than this and has good form over C&D. Two concerns are , the draw, low numbers are not favoured usually on the straight track , jockey, he rode the tip last time but this young apprentice has his first ride here . Even so , not much to beat.
¾ pt win Bounty Pursuit @ 11/4
Selected York – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.55 Liberty Beach has established herself as one of the top juvenile sprinters around with 4 wins from 5 starts, her only reversal being at Royal Ascot when badly drawn, but still ran well. She goes up in trio today but there is plenty of encouragement from the pedigree and can go in again.
½ pt Win liberty Beach @ 13/8
2.25 A very valuable juvenile sprint, so no wonder many trainers are chancing their arms with jus Ok types. There are 4 runners who are some way ahead of the rest on form, but both Raahy And Fleeting Prince are just two of many who will be wanting to dominate , so could run their races prematurely . The other pair are Show Me Show Me and Rayong, who have both been competing well in hot company, but both go up in trip and preference for the latter , who gives the indication that the longer trip will suit but the vey high draw and drying ground not positives.
¼ pt ew Rayong @ 7/1
3.00 There are so many in this field now on a testing mark , I’m with Petrus, who is still a few pounds above his last winning mark, but has hit the frame in two good handicaps off this mark and the likely strong pace will help this strong finisher . He’s well drawn and Martin Dwyer knows him well.
½ pt ew Petrus @ 14/1
3.35 This is the incredibly wonderful enable’s final race in the Uk before going for an unprecedented hat-trick In the Arc, and who’s going to stop her. If anything , she has looked even better this year and despite Magical being a worthy rival, she will still be a few lengths behind the Superstar at the line, who is 1/3 for the win, so happy just to watch poetry in motion.
4.15 An interesting Listed event for fillies named in honour of the very wonderful late trainer and all round fine chap in Sir Henry Cecil. Quite a few of these have progressed from handicaps and can be relied upon to run their races. Bella Vita just doesn’t know how to run a bad race while Hameem is also on the up. I’m with Frankelina who takes a drop in grade after good efforts in The Oaks and a Group 2 at Royal Ascot. Dermot weld rarely sends horses across The irish Sea nowadays and his lightly raced Search for A star is a massive danger.
¼ pt win Frankellina @ 5/1
4.50 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Fontwell – good to firm on this sharp track
6.20 Black Lightning needs softer ground , as does Downloadtheapp. A good opportunity for Goldslinger , who ran well in a recent chase despite the soft ground. He goes well here, on a workable mark and fast ground in his favour. Good chance of an overdue win.
½ pt win Goldslinger @ 3/1
7.50 Both Rakihine State and Skeaping were recently bought out of top Irish trainer Gordon Elliott’s yard and horses of this profile don’t’ tend to come on for the move. The clear form horse is Chapmanshype and the drop in trip a positive .
¾ pt win Chapmanshype @ 7/4
Selected Leicester- good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
5.30 Wyclif was very well backed on debut in the Doncaster mud and was most impressive. Different ground today , but that shouldn’t be an issue and looks the type capable of shouldering a penalty in a weak maiden where quantity severely outweighs quality.
¾ pt win Wyclif @ evens
