Today’s Fortune for a fiver
Two very healthy returns from yesterday’s multis .
3 £1 doubles £1 ew treble
Jumira Bridge 1.50 @ 13/2
Duneflower 3.00 @ 3/1
Outbox 2.45 @ 6/4
Selected Chester- good ground on this flat and sharp track where a low draw is very important.
1.35 Breathalyser impressed when winning over C&D last time but would do very well to double up giving weight away to some promising types, all from good stables and some wearing famous colours. Dirty Dancer ran well last time from the front and I’m with her to make every post a winning post, nothing unusual at Chester.
½ pt win Dirty Dancer @ 4/1
2.10 The well treated Arcanada has become a bit in and out but was on his best behaviour last time when endeavouring to make all and was chinned on the line. He has the best of the draw and is the likely pacesetter. Chance of another all the way winner.
½ pt win Arcanada @ 9/1
2.45 At the weights, this looks a match between the useful Outbox and the ex- Argentinian Stivers , who has his first run for the great Dermot weld, who rarely plunders these shores nowadays , so is respected on that score too. Outbox has held his form well all season running to his lofty mark of 105 frequently. A good pace is on with a few of the field known for front running and he should be just too good for these.
½ pt win Outbox @ 6/4
3.20 This looks a match between two course winners in Dream Kart , who won well here last time, but is not well drawn and the longer trip an issue while Know No limits is 2 from 2 here , one of these coming at this trip. There are a few others in the field who like to lead , but one of his wins came here from off the pace .
1/2 pt win Know No Limits @15/8
3.55 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Sandown- good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
1.50 There will be no hanging about in this sprint handicap with the in form but now on a testing mark Only Spoofing well drawn to try and go all the way , which he could just about manage and the well handicapped but unconvincing of late Justanotherbottle trying to make all up the middle, and there are a few others who will be pushing the pace along. Sprints here often fall apart in the last half furlong with late players the ones to look for. Jumeira Bridge comes here in good form and is 2 from 2 over C&D and only 2 pounds higher for her last win. Nicely drawn to be delivered late by the excellent Oisin Murphy .
½ pt ew Jumira Bridge @ 13/2
2.25 The likeable Mr Top Hat has a good race make up for a front runner and is tempting at long odds but drying ground no help and I prefer the chance of the likeable Hyanna whose last run over C&D resulted in a narrow defeat in a 3 way photo , coming from some way back. There are a number of in form younger horses but both 4 timer seeking Country and Migration both now on testing marks.
½ pt ew Hyanna @12/1
3.00 A group 3 for fillies and a short priced one in Jubiloso , who will be far more at home today over this C&D than she was down in trip at Goodwood last time, but she has a very progressive rival in Duneflower , who is 2 from 2 at this trip and really impressed last time winning a Listed event on fast ground at Ascot, so today’s conditions ideal . She won that race as she pleased , held up and when asked for her effort , the response was immediate and telling. Dettori comes here for just he one ride and could well still be ahead of the game.
¾ pt win Duneflower @ 3/1
3.35 A Group 3 for juvenile colts and the hot favourite positive will take some beating and will be probably given a prominent ride with stamina on stiff track assured.
½ pt win Positive @ 10/11
4.10 A very tricky nursery and a big ask for hat-trick seeking Mac McCarthy with a 13 pound penalty for a smart win last time. Sir Arthur dayne spread-eagled a big field at Lingfield first time handicapping at this trip and has held his form pretty well off his new mark. Nice ew bet.
¼ pt ew Sir Arthur Dayne @ 9/1
4.45 A tricky event but the bold front running Mountain rescue could have an eay time of it and could nail a deserved win.
¼ pt win Mountain Rescue @ 7/1
Selected Newton Abbot – good ground on this flat and sharp track- speed track
1.55 a short priced fav in Dorking Boy , who returns from a lengthy break and could well find things happening too quickly for him on this tight track on quick ground .Illustrieme is an 82 rated flat horse and won well on debut over hurdles and lost little failing to give weight under his penalty to See The Sea , who has since landed a hat-trick, including a handicap. The first time tongue tie is also a positive for this strong stable.
½ pt win illustrieme @ 7/4
2.30 Full marks to As You Like, 3 wins and 3 seconds in his last 6, one of those over C&D, getting the better of the luckless bramble Brook but both may have to settle for minor honours behind Court Duty who was impressive when winning over C&D a few runs back.
¼ pt win Court Duty @ 4/1
3.40 The front running youngster Teaser is 2 from 2 over fences , including over C&D and the hat-trick beckons in a modest heat .
1/ 2pt win Teaser @ 6/5
4.50 Youngster Game line went close last time and the 2nd horse has done well since and the longer trip looks within his range .
½ pt win Game Line @ 5/2
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Beverley- probably good ground on this stiff and galloping track
3.15 The Beverley Bullet , a Class 1 sprint and some useful types have won this in the past . The fav is Tis Marvellous who comes here in the back of a career best win at his beloved Ascot and is well drawn today, but prior to that Ascot win, his firm was only a par with a number of these.. A strong gallop is on the cards which is going to help the late players and I prefer the chance of the back to form Danzeno who should like this testing C&D .
¼ pt win Danzeno @ 6/1
3.50 a big ask for recent C&D winner Archimedes who sluiced in last time making all from a similar poor draw , but a hefty penalty doesn’t help and there are better drawn pacesetters, none more so than the well treated, but generally regressive and I prefer C&d winner Atyaff, who’s only 2 pounds higher for his recent win, but does go up in grade , but that balanced by an excellent draw.
¼ pt ew Aytaff @ 8/1
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Wolver- all weather – tapeta
4.40 Quite a tricky sprint but the reliable probability just comes out best in terms of mark and race make up.
¼ pt win Probability @ 11/4
5.15 Another tricky event but the nod goes to the in form Chicago Doll , who brings the strongest recent form to the table .
1/4pt win Chicago Doll @ 4/1
5.50 A very winnable finale and a decent chance for Miss Gargar to finally get her nose in front as likely to be front rank in a field of mostly hold up types.
¼ pt ew Miss Gargar @ 8/1
No wolver placepot
Selected Lingfield- all weather- polytrack
4.20 Gainsay is not the most consistent but she is 2 from 2 on polytrack and recent comeback spin mildly encouraging. Not a big ask .
½ pt win Gainsay @ 4/1
5.30 Not a deep maiden and a great opportunity for the consistent Ossco to break his duck and is effective over C&d.
½ pt win Ossco @ 2/1
6.00 The Sir mark Prescott youngster Yvette is plenty short enough for what she’s achieved so far and prefer a play on the capable Gavlar, rare run in this grade and is effective on the surface and trip.
¼ pt ew Gavlar @ 9/1
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.30 Quemonda showed little in 3 maidens but was a totally different prospect last time out, sluicing in from a bad draw over C&D , looking well ahead of the game. Far better draw this time and should send fav backers home happy.
½ pt win Quemonda @ 5/2
Selected Chelmsford City- all weather- polytrack
5.40 the draw could have been kinder but the luckless Gregorian Girl comes out the best at the weights and can take this at the expense of the consistent Sonnet Rose.
¼ pt win Gregorian Girl @ 11/4
7.15 One of this track’s best races of the calendar , and it looks a right minefield. I’m with the hat-trick seeking Beautyfilly, a filly on the up and no complaints with the draw.
½ pt win Beautifully @ 8/1
No Chelmsford City placepot
