Today’s Fortunes for a fiver
3 £1 doubles & £2 treble
Junoesque 1.10 @ 5/2
Narak 3.25 @ 7/2
Motafael 4.30 @ 7/4
50p ew Trixie & 50p ew treble
Seen The lyte 3.50 @ 7/1
Sir Ron Priestley 3.35 @ 10/1
Machine Leader 2.30 @ 9/1
Selected Lingfield- good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
1.10 It wasn’t a deep race when Maroon Bells sluiced in over C&d last time and will find this tougher off an 8 pound penalty. Junoesque is having a terrific season winning 3 of her last 5 and is holding her form well off her new mark. Looks a really good bet to get us off to a flier.
¾ pt win Junoesque @ 5/2
2.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.25 Narak could have bumped into one last time at Catterick, but still looks to have run to a good enough level to land this modest handicap, especially from the best of the draw.
¾ pt win Narak @ 7/2
4.00 Another modest heat and a chance for the well treated Maksab after an improved run last time.
¼ pt win Maksab @ 9/2
Selected Chester – good ground on this flat and sharp track and low numbers in the draw an edge.
1.30 Debs Delight impressed winning on debut but it was on soft ground and at a stiff track, so with a penalty , this speed task could test, but not ruled out. Huboor is the other penalised runner and curiously for a Mark Johnston horse has been off the card for 2 months, so prefer to watch. Stroxx ran well at Carlisle last time in what looked a deep maiden and a nice ew play on that form.
¼ pt ew Stroxx @ 8/1
2.05 Bev Vrackie made a bold bid in the Ebor , trying to make all, which were curious tactics for one going up in trip , but back to his best trip, looks a solid fav to land this Class 1.
½ pt win Ben Vrackie @ 6/4
2.40 the consistent Celestial Rose will give it a go from the front and no complaints with the draw, but he had a similar race make up her last time, over further, and was seriously done for toe, so happy to be with the down in grade and useful stayer Mancini . The rest tend to be more potent on softer ground.
½ pt win Mancini @ 5/1
3.15 A winnable nursery and I’m with the well drawn front running vintage Times, who has the form to win this and hoping she will be away and gone.
¼ pt win Vintage times @ 9/2
3.50 Redrosezorro is well drawn for a front runner but could be caught out in this grade and wont have an easy ride up front with a few other prominent racers in the field. This is likely to be run at a strong pace and the well drawn late playing Seen The lyte could have the race run to suit and comes here in good form over C&D.
1/2pt ew Seen The lyte @ 7/1
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
5.00 The well drawn Medalla De oro made all over C&D 2 starts back from an awkward draw and could repeat the dose off just a 2 pound higher mark.
¼ pt win Medalla De Oro @ 10/3
Selected Chelmsford City- all weather – polytrack
2.10 plenty of early pace on here and despite the wide draw, the race could be set up for the well treated strong finishing Concierge, who’s effective over C&D.
¼ pt ew Concierge @ 7/1
2.45 PREMIUM RACE
3.20 Not a deep race and a good opportunity for In The Cove to defy a small penalty.
¼ pt win In the Cove @ 3/1
4.30 Not a deep race and the in form Attainment has his work cut out under a hefty penalty and this looks good for the progressive Motafael
¾ pt win Motafeal @ 7/4
5.05 Robeam is rarely far away and should again run his race and ticks more boxes than most.
¼ pt win Robeam @ 11/2
Chelmsford City placepot
No advice from Listowel
Selected Doncaster – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.50 PREMIUM RACE
2.25 Shine So Bright made all to win really well last time and again should get his own way up front and be hard to beat, despite carrying a penalty, but not for me at odds on.
3.00 Threat has the best form but goes up in trip and carries a penalty against some decent sorts.
3.35 The St Leger and the short priced fav is Logician , unraced as a 2yo but 4 from 4 this season and came of age last time when giving a hammering to the useful Constaninople , making him the clear form horse in this . He goes up in trip today and looks a stayer but the pedigree doesn’t back that up at all. Sir Ron Priestley is 5 from 6 this season , his only reversal coming on soft ground at Royal Ascot. He is 2 from 2 at a trip just short of today’s and he likes to front run , and should have a relatively easy time of it up front. He is a most determined sort and a good bet at the odds.
½ pt ew Sir Ron Priestley @ 10/1
4.10 After winning at Haydock, Kingsbrook was aimed into Group company, but failed to fire and as he’s still entered in Group 1’s, should be making light work of these in a nursery.
¼ pt win Kingsbrook @ 5/2
Selected Leopardstown- good to firm on this flat and galloping track – excellent circuit
2.30 Always worth noting anything crossing The irish Sea, and the in form Machine Leader was 2nd in this 2 years ago off a slightly higher mark. Oisin Murphy rides and a very nice ew play .Trossachs, One Cool Poet and Kastasa has been prolific of late but acid test today for all three on stiff marks.
½ pt ew Machine Leader @ 9/1
3,40 A wide open Group 3 and I like the chance of Broad Street who won his first two races well and unlucky first time at this trip last time .
¼ pt ew Broad Street @ 15/2
4.15 The very valuable Irish Champion Stakes and a good opportunity for the very useful filly Magical who of late has only played second fiddle to the very useful pair of Crystal Ocean and wondermare Enable . This is a big ask for 4 timer seeking Headman but the back to form Elarqam has been supplanted for this to the tune of £75,000, but small change for his owner . He’s come into his own since being stepped up to this trip, but this C&d should see him struggling for pace. The useful Madhmoon runs in the same colours and was a close 4th in the Epsom derby and every chance this C&d will be ideal.
¼ pt ew Madhmoon @ 5/1
4.50 Lancaster House only saw the racecourse for the first time last month and is now 3 from 3 and a worthy fav for this Group 2 , but 6/4 skinny
5.25 The very wonderful Laurens won this last year and the double looks on , but again skinny odds.
¼ pt double- Lancaster House @ 6/4 Laurens @ 6/5 – double pays 9/2
6.00 Silvercode has had a light season, which is no bad thing this time of year and has dropped to a good mark after a few below par efforts, but has been running over a trip short of his best. He’s runs big races in this in the last two years and another good run likely.
¼ pt ew Silvercode @ 13/2
Selected Bath- firm ground on this sharp but stiff track
2.00 the in form knockabout Queen could have been better drawn and has cut little ice in 3 runs here. Amberine is on a fair mark and in OK form . Runs this C&d well.
¼ pt ew Amberine @ 10/1
3.45 The inform Little Boy Blue runs this C&d well and just comes out best at the weights.
½ pt win Little Boy Blue @ 6/1
No Bath placepot
Musselburgh good to firm on this flat and galloping track- speed track
4.05 Not a deep nursery and the clear form horse is Queenoftheclyde , after a close 2nd at Sandown in a far better race. Well drawn and only concern is the quicker track
½ pt win Queenoftheclyde @ 5/2
5.15 Not a deep contest again and the back to form Robben Rainbow should edge out the in form but poorly drawn Muhallab.
½ pt win Robben Rainbow @ 4/1
5.45 Mighty Spirit is probably the highest rated juvenile maiden and despite this being another winning opportunity, not good backing this type at such short odds.
6.15 Quite a few in form types but punished accordingly and as this is likely to be run at a good pace, the in form and strong finishing pickett’s Charge should be involved late on at good odds.
1/ 4 pt ew Pickett’s Charge @ 11/1
6.45 The inform pair of Kermouster and Langholm could struggle off their new marks, down in trip on quick ground. Ginger Fox is rarely fa away and a nice ew play at the odds.
¼ pt ew Ginger Fox @ 12/1
7.15 No surprise that Super Florence ran a better race last time off this declining mark, but consistency not her strong point. Thornaby Princess is in good form and this is her best C&D. unlikely to be far away.
¼ pt ew Thornaby Princess @ 8/1
