3 £1 doubles & 31 ew treble
Sabrina Fairchild 4.30 @ 3/1
Ruacana 2.15 @ 15/8
Maypole Class 2.45 @ 2/1
Selected Southwell – very soft ground on tis flat and sharp track
12.30 A tricky opener as the short priced fav, loveherandleaveher runs for Champion trainer Nicky Henderson and is on a tough enough mark in her first chase , returning from a 9 months break and a bit to prove at the trip and ground. Bee Crossing was a point winner but racecourse runs pretty modest but could be a different proposition going handicapping up in trip. Carnspindle comes here on the back of a 2nd at Fakenham, but is was In a small field raced steadily . Her form on soft ground is erratic , as she has become , but still worth a dabble in a most winnable race.
¼ pt win Carnspindle @ 11/2
1.00There was little between Vado Forte and Katpoli on soft ground at Chepstow last time , and it could be that case again, but on this more benign track, I expect the former to be in control . Monsieur D’Arque is usually kept for better ground but ran well for a long way last time at Cheltenham in the mud until emptying out late on , so not rule out.
½ pt win Vado Forte @ 11/4
2.05 Mr Love comes here on a hat-trick after a most determined win in the Newcastle mud and with the ground in his favour may just get away with the 7 pound hit. Victarion is massively consistent but deep ground not in his favour.
¼ pt win Mr Love @ 15/8
3.05 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Lingfield- very soft ground on this undulating and sharp track
1.15 Early Morning Rain is the very short odds on fav as her form is well in advance of anything else, but she had a hard race a few days ago and recent bumper winner Rose of Aghaboe could be a tough nut to crack.
¼ pt win Rose of Aghaboe @ 11/4
1.45 This is massively competitive and the short list is just too long to narrow it down.
2.15 Ruacana comes here on a track hat-trick and only 4 pounds higher for a recent win in the mud, and will take some beating today .
3/4 pt win Ruacana @ 15/8
2.45 This will take little winning as most of these are more potent on better ground . The lightly raced Maypole Class ran well when 2nd at Carlisle in the mud, so the only concern is this more benign track , but has run well on easy tracks before.
½ pt win Maypole Class @ 2/1
3.15 The drop in trip is a concern for the capable Uhlan Bute while it’s hard to forgive Private Malone’s recent record of 2 pulled ups. Shanahan’s Turn has dropped to a good mark and despite being on a long losing run, could well make all on ground he relishes.
¼ pt win Shanahan’s Turn @ 5/2
Selected Dundalk- all weather- polytrack
1.55 Spelga is certainly improving as he had no right to win last time under a big penalty, but still won well . He’s up a further 6 pounds which has to test as will the longer trip . Storm Steps ran very well in his first try here recently with a running on 3rd of 14 at this trip . Looks likely to get involved again in a race where it’s hard to fancy many.
¼ pt ew Storm Steps @7/1
2.25 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 Bellick comes here in great shape after a career best win over C&D last time , but the 6 pound hit wont help and connections reach for a very inexperienced 10 pound claimer . Sabina Fairchild was a most unlucky 3rd in that race and great chance of compensation .
¾ pt win Sabina Fairchild @ 3/1
Selected Wolver- all weather – tapeta
3.45 This is very weak and the clear form horse is high Fort after a brave effort from the front at Newcastle last time. He has the best of the draw and could be away and gone round this right track for a stable that does well here.
½ pt win High Fort @ 5/4

7.15 A very weak finale and ALL of these are struggling for a win , but a few have gone close of late including klipperty Klopp , but this longer trip is far from sure to help. Clear chances can be given to all of the market leaders in Embers Glow, Majestic Stone and Telekinetic , who could get the run of he race from the front for his new stable , but I’m with a longshot in Melabi , who is the most recent winner in the field and the C&d fine. He’s a late player so would be nice if a few of these went off strongly.
¼ pt ew Melabi @ 18/1
