Cheltenham – good to soft on this undulating, galloping and stiff track

2.10 The County Hurdle
There has been plenty of support for the useful Mohayyad who won this 2 years ago and ran respectably in last year’s event . I have been with him a few times this year but just hasn’t fired but has had a wind op and the market support suggests he could be back to his best and has dropped to a good mark . Willie Mullins is 4 handed and 3 of them are prominent in the market . Aramon has been competing in Grade 1 hurdles so must be considered in a handicap off a fair mark while the in form Ciel De neige could struggle a bit today with the 4 pound nudge up the weights. I was drawn to Saint Roi when going through the field as this Mullins trained youngster is the least exposed in the field and comes here on the back of a smart win over a most reliable yardstick putting him on a very fair mark . He was a 14/1 shot yesterday but has been well supported in the market and I can’t desert him now

4.10 The champion Hunter
The incredibly prolific Hazel Hill won this last year and his record is incredible , in his last 17 races he has 15 wins and 2 seconds . He is getting no younger and last time was narrowly beaten by the revitalised Minella Rocco , but does have a good pull in the weights and you would imagine that he has been prepared for this. . When successful last year he was 4 lengths clear at the line of the ultra consistent Shantou Flyer who has impressed in his two wins this season and he runs this track really well and looks a solid ew play. The willie Mullins’ trained Billaway can’t be ruled out.
½ pt ew Shantou Flyer @ 11/2
4.50 Youngster Greanateen is a perfect 3 from 3 over fences and despite this being his toughest ask to date under a 12 pound penalty, still hard to rule out. The front running Gino Trail has run well in this race before off around the same mark and after a series of below par runs he bounced back to form with an all the way win at Doncaster , a track which wouldn’t play into his strengths , on his first start for the smart stable of Fergal O’Brien and he’s going to give us a great run for our money from the front at long odds. Another veteran in Croco Bay landed this last year @ 66/1, but it was no fluke and has held his form well in subsequent runs .

Selected fakenham – good to soft on this flat and very sharp track
1.55 Very much a match and hard to pick between Coole well and swaffam Bulbeck
3.55 Not a deep race at all and the nod goes to Starsky who ran respectably off this mark and trip of late.
¼ pt win starsky @ 5/2
4.34 A valuable event for the small track and the fav is the Nicky Henderson youngster in homer , but won only an ok race last time and is penalised today . Ashutor is also penalised for a recent win but the quality of that form offers hope of the double.
½ pt win Alshutor @ 4/1
Selected Lingfield- all weather – polytrack
A couple of most in form and likeable mares in Miss Elsa and Roca Majica who both go for the hat-trick but both now on very testing marks . Ruby Gates was a good all the way winner at Wolver and backed that up with a decent effort at Chelmsford City is higher grade . If securing that all important lead , could take some catching .
¼ pt win Ruby gates @ 5/1
2.20 The short priced fav is the well drawn Claudius secundus after a good 2nd on debut ar Kempton and the extra furlong will suit but Glencora was only a length behind and was also running on well so despite the wide draw has to be worth a dabble at the odds.
¼ pt ew Glencora @ 28/1
3.40 Quite an open sprint handicap but happy to be with the consistent Heer we Go again who has been holding his form well in better races than this.
¼ pt win Heer We Go Again @ 13/2
Selected Dundalk- all weather – polytrack
5.15 The unexposed Zippity sluiced in over C&D last time and despite the 8 pound hit could be ahead of the game.
½ pt win Zippity @ 5/2
5.45 Narynkol has been going very well here of late , running big races in handicaps and this looks a good opportunity but the drop in trip and wide draw makes odds of 5/4 too skinny .
7.45 Tyrconnel is a reliable soul proven over C&D and has dropped to a good mark. He’s better drawn than of late and looks a very nice ew play.
½ pt ew Tyrconnel @ 9/1
7.00 Aleef sluiced in last time over C&D and his penalty has been negated by the booking of very useful 5 pound claimer in George Rooke but preference is for the consistent C&D regular who wasn’t far behind Aleef last time. The admirable Red Stripes is bang in form but this is tougher up in the ratings and grade.
¼ pt win Samovar @9/2
8.00 The prolific pair of Sliversturnstogold and love Your Work are most effective over C&D , but both now on testing marks so preference is for the well treated Kentuckyconnection after an excellent 2nd over C&D last time off this mark first time on the surface.
¼ pt win Kentuckyconnection @ 10/3
