Today’s Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles , 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Koolasice 2.00 @ 2/1
Jack D’or 2.45 @ 9/2
My Girl Maggie 3.25 @ 2/1
Greengage 4.25 @ 15/2
Selected Goodwood- good to firm ground on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
12.35 This has an open look to it but reservations about the market leaders .Brunels’ Boy did well returning from almost a year off but could be a bouncer dropping in trip . Fromnowon ran two solid races last year but concerns that after two quick runs hasn’t been seen since while Rusper’s Lad ran well on debut but has run just OK in two subsequent starts after a lengthy break . The most straight forward profile belongs to Bimble , a good effort on the all weather on debut and no issue switching to turf on pedigree and the stable does well here .
½ pt win Bimble @ 6/1
1.10 Treacherous is a terrific racehorse who always runs his race but his current mark leaves no room for error and is likely to find this quick C&D on fast turf plenty sharp enough . Veteran Pittochside has 6 wins here and did well on his recent comeback spin . All recent turf wins have been on soft but does have form on quick turf . Could be away and gone.
½ pt win Pittochside @ 5/1
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
2.45 The ex-French Variyann was most impressive on his first star for archie Watson and looks ahead of the handicapper but the faster ground could find him out . Jack D’Or was mightily consistent last season and gained due reward for his efforts with a win at Kempton, but no issues with quick turf and runs well fresh . He’s a tiny bit high in the weights but taken to upset the hotpot .
½ pt win Jack d’Or @9/2
Selected Ponty- good ground on this undulating, galloping and very stiff track
1,50 PREMIUM RACE
2.20 King Review and River Dawn both go for the hat-trick and are much respected despite their penalties and River Dawn does have it to prove on turf. Storm Ahead looks a lively longshot off this mark and can go well fresh .
¼ p tew Storm Ahead @ 16/1
2.50 A good quality Class 1 event for fillies and the odds on fav is the useful Antonia de vega who has at least 10 pounds in hand over her rivals but plenty of the opposition are consistent and useful and will make the fav work hard. All of Bighearted, Lady Of Shalott, La Lune, Makawee and Specialise will give their supporters good runs for their money but slight preference is for the reliable and determined Maybe today who races as if this stiff C&d will suit.
¼ p tew Maybe Today @ 10/1
3.25 My Girl Maggie did well last time when going from the front at Newmarket on fast ground and was only run down late on. She’s on a fair mark in this handicap and taken to go all the way .
½ pt win My girl Maggie @ 2/1
4.25 Going Native goes for the 4 timer after a hat-trick on the Southwell finbresand but despite being much improved , has chunks to prove off a stiff mark and switching to turf .The majority of the field are very hard to win with the exception of Greengage who is now on a testing mark but the switch to turf no real issue and likes stiff tracks.
½ pt win Greengage @ 15/2
Selected Fairyhouse- good ground on this galloping and stiff track
2.00 Not a deep maiden and the short priced fav is Papa Bear , who does bring the best form into the race but either of side of that run ran only modestly .Koolasice ran two very big races in his first two and can be excused a lesser effort in the mud. Great chance today.
¾ pt win Koolasice @ 2/1
No advice for Rosscommon
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
5.05 A very open handicap but not overly keen on short priced fav Aegeus despite the drop in grade. A true pace is on with Holiday Magic likely to take them along but could be a sitting duck at this trip and mark. The Warrior comes here in good form and this late player looks a nice ew play .
¼ p tew The Warrior @ 7/1
7.05 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Chepstow – good to soft on this undulating galloping and quite stiff track
6.25 Peggy Sue returns to turf on a good mark and ground no issue but she is becoming hard to win with and prefer a play with the reliable Bellevarde who has run well fresh before and goes well over C&D and ground . Nice play despite a testing mark .
¼ pt ew Bellevarde @ 7/1
8.25 Tristnan Davison has brought winning hurdler Diodorius on the 550 mile round trip and it shouldn’t be a wasted journey . He was very consistent off this mark last year and another good run looks on . Johnny Kidd continues to run well but just can’t get his nose in front .
¼ pt win Diodorius @ 9/4
8.55 Le Musee has been nudged up the weights for a good win at Newcastle last time and would do well to go in again . A couple of useful hurdlers in chez Hans and Scorched Earth take their chances on the flat for top stables. Paul Nichols is going very well on the flat so the nod goes to his runner .
¼ pt win Chez Hans @ 5/2
