Gabrial The wire 2.20 @ 11/4
Chapmanshype 3.10 @ 11/2
Basilicata 4.40 @ 7/4
True Destiny 8.15 @ 2/1
Selected Southwell – good ground on this flat and sharp track
12.00 The fav is the Paul Nichols trained Nineohtwooneoh , going chasing first time and will need to improve for the switch as he was held off this mark over hurdles and also switches from soft ground. This looks well winnable and happy to play a longshot in the ex – Irish Torquay, who ran many a good race off around this mark and ground and worth a dabble at long odds.
¼ p tew Torquay @ 20/1
12,35 A good quality Class 3 handicap chase and the short priced fav is another Paul Nichols runner in Azzuri , who is capable off this mark, but when last seen was running way below form. The bold front running Tontos Spirit had a recent run on the flat which will help and not out of this while the useful and likeable Cracking Destiny has also had recent outing on the flat but did run pretty poorly and his peak form over fences are on right handed tracks, unlike today . Tidal Watch did well last year, coming to hand early and despite now being on a testing mark , not impossible and likes this kind of track.
1/ 4 pt ew Tidal Watch @ 10/1
1.10 This looks a deep bumper and the Paul Nicholls runner The Greater Good is plenty short in the market and would do well to win .
2.10 There has been a flood of money for Enemy Coast Ahead on his first start for Olly Wiliams, who has a knack of improving new intakes. Medalla D’or is 1 from 1 over hurdles and has no penalty and this front runners could be hard to catch round here. Rhosigner brings good winning form to the table but carries the dreaded penalty while the Paul Nicholls newcomer Thrace was rated a lofty 93 on the flat !!
3.10 Young hurdler Chapmanshype ended the season with a hat-trick, improving for the step up to this trip . The 4 pound penalty could have been harsher as he’s been winning as he pleased He came to hand early last season and goes well on tight tracks.
½ pt win Chapmanshype @ 11/2
3.40 A tricky handicap but I’m with Carntop, on a workable mark , has ground and trip to suit and goes well fresh .
¼ pt win Carntop @ 9/2
No Southwell placepot picks
Selected Musselburgh – good ground on this flat ,galloping and quick track
12.15 This should be a straight forward task for Disco Beats who brings comfortably the best form to the table and not badly priced relatively .
¾ pt win Disco Beats @ 5/6
12.45 The busy Red Stripes is sure to try and make all but is now on a testing mark and looks sure to be vulnerable late on . Both Primo’s Comet and Nibras Again are late players who have the form to fight this one out, but hard to be sure which one has the edge. Royal Brave has sadly deteriorated of late and can only be watched while the drop in trip will surely test Antagonise .
1.20 Take your pick between Infant Hercules , a good 2nd on turf at this trip on debut against Night Moment , whose run well in both runs at this trip, but they were on polytrack .
1.50 PREMIUM RACE
2.20 There will be no hanging about in this with the in form and well drawn Muntadab sure to go out strong but both Tadawol and the down in class Three Saints Bay are also known for front running and this looks destined for a late player . Gabrial The Wire ended last season with a fine win at Chester , and has run respectably on his two starts this season over trips too short . The reliable Asdaa wont be far away and significantly SDS’ only ride on the card Is Rux Ruxx , and as he’s Southern based, an interesting booking but Gabrial to pounce late for me .
½ pt win Gabrial The wire @ 11/4
3.40 Nearly there is holding his form well but does switch to a speed track today while Stormin Norman resumes duties off the mark which gave him trouble last season . Donnachies Girl is running much better since the handicapper cut some slack and her comeback spin was encouraging. This C&d should be fine .
¼ pt ew Donnachies Girl @ 6/1
No advice for Tipperary today – back with night racing later
Selected Leopardstown – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
4.55 A Group 3 and the short priced fav is the highest rated So Wonderful , who drops in grade but is amazingly still a maiden after 10 tries, so easy to say she’s hard to win with and top connections have tried a number of different tactics but to no avail, she just looks short of tactical speed ,which explains that she is never far away in hot contests, but never looks like winning . Know It All ran well here on her comeback spin and runs like this longer trip will suit .
½ pt win Know It All @ 7/2
5.25 Sinawaan has looked a weak finisher on occasions, but still brings the best form into the race and looks a very solid fav .
½ pt win Sinawaan @ 6/4
5.55 PREMIUM RACE
6.30 The lightly raced relaxing Mode runs in famous colours for a good stable and ran well in his first handicap which came over this C&D . Looks a most safe ew play .
½ p tew Relaxing Mode @ 9/2
7.30 Classify runs in famous colours for a top stable and brings the best form to the table and no issues with ground or trip .
½ pt win Classify @ 6/4
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
4.40 Basilicate brings the best form to the table after a close 3nd at Goodwood at this trip when trying to make all. He’s very well drawn and is related to some smart all weather types. Good bet at relatively generous odds.
¾ pt win Basilicata @ 7/4
5.10 PREMIUM RACE
6.45 This is not a deep heat and Coltrane showed well enough over C&D on his debut to reward fav backers .
½ pt win Coltrane @ 6/4
7.15 Good Tidings is not the luckiest of souls and last time lost his jockey midrace. He went close over C&D last season but is now 4 pounds higher and prefer the chance of kitaabat , a C&D winner off this mark last year and a few times unlucky . Things have to drop just right for this tricky customer but is well drawn and this is not deep .
¼ p tew Kitabaat @ 7/1
7.45 Dargel ended the season with a couple of runs as a beaten fav, which hints that his present mark is a tough too testing , and it took him a bit of time to find his form last season, so looking elsewhere . River Dawn is going well and merits respect but the nod goes to the reliable Jack D’or , who is competitive off this mark and proven over C&D. Oisin Murphy rides but he has been unlucky in the draw.
¼ pt win Jack D’Or @ 4/1
8.15 True Destiny comes into this on the back of a great series of runs last season with 3 wins and 4 places from his 7 runs and ended the season with a brilliant 3rd in the Goodwood Marathon handicap and the 2 pound hit shouldn’t stop this reliable and still improving stayer . House edge returned from a near 3 year absence with good 2nd here, but is a potential bouncer and longer trip not at all sure to help .
½ pt win True Destiny @ 2/1
