Today’s Fortune for a fiver
3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Molls Memory 4.55 @ 16/1
Dawaaween 2.20 @ 11/4
Look Closely 3.40 @ 9/2
Selected Thirsk – good to soft on this flat and galloping track , speed track
1.50 Not a deep maiden and a most solid short priced fav in Alba Rose ,a good 2nd on debut at this trip at Lingfield , so this C&d should be fine .
¾ pt win Alba Rose @ evens
2.20 Dawaleen continues to run well and her latest effort shows that her current mark is manageable . This prominent racer has no issues with the ground or this kind of C&D and will be hard to beat . The admirable Gale force Maya is always hard to rule out and is the clear danger as recent winner dream World could struggle under a penalty switching to a speed track .
½ pt win Dawaleen @ 11/4 ¼ pt rev fc Dawaleen – Gale Force Maya
2.55 Deep Impression has struggled on left handed tracks before , so no appeal today . Course winner Diamond Haze ran well again last time , but has been nudged up the weights again . Emotional Moment has run well in all 3 races , all being on polytrack, but she’s on a good mark and trip no issue . Worth a dabble .
¼ pt win Emotional moment @ 6/1
3.30 This is wide open and a chance can be given to many but the joint favs in Ghaly and arch Moon look short enough for their chances . Byrons Choice is hard to win with nowadays , but has hit the frame a few times of late and has form over C&D in the ground, so worth a go at long odds.
¼ pt ew Byrons Choice @ 20/1
4.00 The market is headed by the two youngsters in Zeeband who won a he liked last time on easy ground , but wasn’t far ahead of the back to form Akamanto , who has to be a nice ew play at the odds in a race where few count . The consistent The Navigator can only be watched for now after being tailed off last time on desperate ground at Catterick , finishing exhausted . The other market leader is the unexposed Ispahan , who looks certainly capable of getting involved .
¼ pt ew Akamanto @ 12/1
4.35 Plenty of early pace in this with Gowanbuster, Macree and Autumn Flight all sure to bounce out and hit the ground running . Of that trio Autumn Flight is by far the most interesting off a workable mark and over a C&d he runs well , and comes here in good shape but the nod goes to the reliable C&D specialist , who’ll be coming willingly from the back .
¼ pt ew Our Little Pony @ 5/1
5.05 There is a chunk of early pace in this ultra competitive sprint handicap and the probable leader is C&D specialist The Armed Man, a winner last time and not out of this off what still looks a good mark. Athollblair Boy is a regular in big field handicaps and this late player has the form to come with a late rattle and nail this . Fendale has a clear chance while Paddy Power runs this C&D well and is on a dangerous mark .
¼ pt ew Athollblair Boy @ 14/1
Selected Ascot – good ground on this stiff and galloping track
1.55 The consistent Dandy’s Derriere is not out of this but always hard carrying a penalty .
3.05 Escodebo ran well over C&d on debut but all of Derab , greatgadian and La Barrosa are very interesting newcomers .
3.40 Look Closely comes here on a C&d hat-trick and despite being all out last time to prevail and up 3 pounds, he did well to win that day from the worst of the draw and having to do a lot of early running . Far Better drawn today and can land a winnable event .The unexposed and prolific youngster Labeebb is an obvious danger , but does have a 9 pound penalty .
½ pt win Look Closely @ 9/2
4.15 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 You could make a case for most of these and happy to be with the classy handicapper in blown By wind, certainly not out of this off a workable mark .
¼ pt ew Blown By Wind @ 16/1
5.20 The pace to the race will come from Crantock Bay and Company Minx , who are drawn on opposite sides and both likely to need this first run back . The in form Tuscan Oasis will also be front rank up the middle, but a nudge up the weights leaves him looking vulnerable . Intrepid Italian is impossible to knock and proved effectiveness on turf last time with a narrow defeat at Chepstow off this mark , so this stiff C&d should be fine and no reason why he wont run his race .
¼ pt ew Intrepid Italian @ 8/1
Selected Haydock – very soft ground on this flat and galloping track
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
3.20 plenty of early pace in this with Bielsa, still not fully exposed and the well treated but not really firing Hyperfocus likely to take them along , but Hyperfocus does have good form here in the mud. The likeable troubadour is now on a tough mark but handles the mud as he showed when 2nd in last year’s Redcar 2yo trophy and shouldn’t be far away .
¼ pt ew Troubador @ 11/1
3.50 Both of the last time C&d winners in Shepherds Way and Somewhere Secret will relish the ground but both now on tough marks . Both fox Hill and Tom Tulliver ran well at Chester last time from bad draws and both are effective in the mud. Nod goes to the former at the odds .
¼ pt ew Fox Hill @ 9/1
4.55 This is very competitive and chances have to be given to the market leaders in finoah , a dual C&d winner in the mud and the useful Trancee , but Molls Memory has to be worth a decent play at long odds. She won three times last year , ending with a determined win in the Newbury mud off a 3 pound lower mark . She runs well fresh and her only run over C&D ended In a short head defeat .
½ pt ew Molls Memory @ 16/1
5.25 Another wide open handicap and the market is led by a pair of mud lovers off workable marks in Cockalorum and Dark Lochnager , but neither have good win records of late. Kaser sluiced in last time over C&D in the mud but the 9 pound hit wont help and returns from s break . Music Seeker is effective over this kind of C&D in the mud and is on a very fair mark . Like his chance at the odds. Highwaygrey is having a terrific season and the mark looks OK , but deep ground a worry .
¼ pt ew Music seeker @ 14/1
Selected Sedgefield- good ground on this undulating and sharp track
4.30 Miss M is a perfect 2 from 2 after a double at Southwell . The double penalty will test but folly to ignore her chance as she runs for the in form David Pipe ,43% here when making the 600 mile round trip . Operatic Export is in good form but still hard to win with while better can be expected from Cuillin .
5.00 the hat-trick seeking Peterborough has found a pretty soft race but does have a very hefty 10 pound penalty to overcome and the stable is another long distance traveller with a good record here .
5.30 The Blame one is the short priced fav after his recent 2nd over C&D with Ferry Hill just a few lengths behind and there wont be much between them again . Both If Karl’s Berg Did and Ben Buie showed promise recently at Fontwell.
6.00 The hat-trick seeking Chocolat Noir is a determined soul but could struggle today with the 7 pound penalty . Hepijeu and handy Hollow both ran well in this last year and again I’m happy to sit this one out with nothing really having an edge .
6.30 Four last time winners here but of those the first for the chop is the heavily penalised Golden Town while Blooriedotcom has no good record running fresh and would prefer softer ground and resumes off a harsh 9 pound higher mark . Both Sea The Sea and Swaffan Bulbeck have clear claims despite penalties but the nod goes to C&d specialist Ingleby Hollow , running well off this mark of late .
¼ pt win Ingleby Hollow @ 5/1
7.30 A weak finale and the worthy fav is youngster Joie De Vivre after her good 2nd here last time off this mark, but does go up half a mile, so just a small play .
¼ pt win Joie De Vivre @ 7/4
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
5.15 PREMIUM RACE
7.20 PREMIUM RACE
7.50 The lightly raced Kingholm sluiced in at Wolver but will still be hard to beat switching to polytrack with a 6 pound penalty Gigi’s Beach has his first run for Yorkshire trainer Michael Dodds who makes the long journey south . Well drawn and has decent form over C&D .
¼ pt ew GIgis Beach @ 8/1
8.20 This will be tougher for Clever Candy up in the ratings and back on polytrack Epsom faithfull is a possibility , but the wide draw doesn’t help. Shoot The moon ran his best race ever over C&D , well drawn and hard to ignore at such long odds.
¼ pt ew Shoot The Moon @ 22/1
8.50 The lightly raced Frankly Mr Shankley looked good last time and could possibly overcome the 6 pound penalty upped in trip . dono Di dio has run some good races here and is another longshot I’m happy to play .
¼ pt ew Dono Di Dio @ 20/1
