Selected Lingfield – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
2.00 This should be a cakewalk for Brenner Pass , but he is making a meal of breaking his duck , so an easy pass at odds on .
2.30 After an impressive winning debut on polytrack, King zain has kept very hot company and is a very short priced fav to dispose of some modest rivals , not for me at short odds.
3.00 Very few here are running well enough to be considered, the exceptions are the market leaders , the consistent pair of Aramis Grey , but not well drawn and drying ground an issue , against Al Mansoura, a close 2nd at Ayr last time and the winner has gone on to land the double from a bad draw. She is very well drawn and is the only runner for the very much in form David O’Meara , who has a very good record making the 500 mile round trip to here . She’s up 2 pounds , but In the context of this weak event , shouldn’t stop her.
¾ pt win Al Mansoura @ 2/1
Selected Leicester – good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
Nothing really stands out in the majority of races here , so just a few plays.
3.50 A seller for juveniles and a number of these have good enough form to land this but preference is for Iris Dancer, who’s with a top stable and has run to a good enough level to land this . She was the fav for a nursery last time and did well to be a close 2nd on deep ground . Bungleupinblue is the highest rated in the field and this one ran a cracker in the first race after Lockdown in a very hot heat at Newmarket which has thrown up a number of very decent youngsters, but hasn’t gone on from that , but continues to run in hot company . The longer trip is the issue .
½ pt win Iris Dancer @ 11/4
4.25 A small field but it’s a very competitive Class 3 sprint. The race is easy to read with the admirable pair of El astronaut and Caspian Prince sure to bomb out and will strain every sinew to land the prize , but both have a job on their hooves at the weights , with the useful pair of Tis Marvellous and Al raya having an advantage at the ratings, but these two haven’t won for a while , so despite the tough task, I’m with El astronaut to grind out another win. Blue De Vega certainly as his mojo back and comes here on a 4 timer , but this is a bridge too far up in class.
¼ pt win El astronaut @ 5/1
Selected Perth – good ground on this flat and fairly sharp track
3.10 This is very open despite the luckless Heavey being a short priced fav. He looked sure to win last time but took a late fall in the Fontwell mud, so could struggle for a bit of pace on quicker ground . The front running Chanceanotherfive has winning form here so not out of it despite a tough mark, and neither is the consistent Petite Ganache . At the odds, I prefer a play on the consistent Island Heights, on a good mark, runs well here and goes well fresh .
¼ pt ew Island Heights @ 14/1
3.40 A good quality Class 2 chase and top of the weights is the useful and prolific caius Marcius, but I’d rather just watch him up in trip. The fav is the Paul Nicholls trained Oleg , who’s been busy on the flat but on a tough enough mark today , but the top stable is 3 from 7 here ! Ian Williams runs a pair of in form runners in solar impulse , who is likely to find this trip too far while Royal Village remains a bit high in the weights. The nod goes to the back to form Cracking Destiny , who’s still on a workable mark , running well over C&D last time. I’d have been much more confident if it wasn’t for the jockey booking as Craig Nichol , who’s been struggling of late.
¼ pt ew Cracking Destiny @ 6/1
4.15 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 Paul Nicholls runs Coup De Pincau , who has flopped the last twice while the consistent Craigmor has a few questions to answer back over fences . The Boola Bee comes here on a hat-trick and has impressed winning her last two and this C&D is preferred, despite the nudge up the weights and grade. Bafana Blue made giant strides last season , with 4 wins and a 2nd, ending the season with another big run in a Kelso marathon . The drying ground probably wont help, but he’s never one to discount .
¼ pt win The Boola Bee @ 4/1
Selected Windsor- good ground on this flat and galloping track
3.25 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 The back to form Spoof , goes for the hat-trick and is still on a good mark on old form , bjut drying ground an issue. The flying Diligent Lady will try and make all but will be vulnerable late on returning from a break off a testing mark. Free love goes well here but the nod goes to the veteran Tropics, who can still shift and dropped to a good mark at a track he likes .
¼ pt ew Tropics @ 16/1
5.30 Dhabyah looked good winning on debut at this trip and despite the penalty , the double looks on.
½ pt win Dhabyah @ 6/4
6.00 East End girl is going really well and ran a lot better than expected when down in trip last time . Back to her best distance gets the nod over Grinling .
¼ pt win East End Girl @ 7/2
Selected Galway – soft ground on this undulating , galloping and stiff track
4.40 Sizing Malbay was a good 2nd in this last year on similar ground , and runs on a lower mark after a couple of tame efforts of late, but has had excuses.
¼ pt ew Sizing Malbay @ 16/1
5.10 This is very much a two horse race and it really is hard to split The storyteller and My sister sarah .
