Selected Ayr- very soft ground on this flat and galloping track
12.30 Burscough is proven on deep ground and brings the best form to the table. Should get fav players off to the perfect start .
½ pt win Burscough @ 5/6
1.05 the longer trip is an issue for a pair in form youngsters in Breguet Boy , unproven on soft ground and Ayr poet , ground OK , but mark is now testing. Granite City Doc is a most reliable soul who has good form off this testing mark over C&D and deeper ground no issue . Only niggle is that first time cheekpieces hasn’t helped other runners from this small stable that does very well here .
¼ pt win Granite City Doc @ 6/1
1.40 Quite a few in form types here with all Perfect Swiss , Sorbonne and Flying Moon running consistently well but now on testing marks. You are never too sure which Mustaqbal will turn up , but he’s not much higher for a win just 3 runs ago and the deeper the better for this C&D winner . Lively longshot .
¼ pt ew Mustaqbal @ 14/1
2.10 Quite an open and good quality handicap sprint with a number of the field proven over C&D in the mud. Black Friday is very consistent and runs this track well and the drop In trip is no issue on deep ground . He’s been nudged up a few pounds , but hard to see him far away .
½ pt ew Black Friday @ 11/2
3.40 Despite the big field , few have high hopes and even the back to form Card High could well struggle on the ground . The likeable Smart Lass made all last time in the Musselburgh mud and is the likely front runner today from a handy draw. The 4 pound hit will test , but she is a tough one to pass in this grade .
¼ pt win Smart Lass @ 9/2
Ffos Las – heavy ground on this flat and galloping track
I’m giving the meeting the swerve as it’s barely raceable and the Ffos Las mud is unlike anywhere else . The great Sir Tony McCoy often rode mud lovers here and expressed that the ground here is a law to itself and winner finding is a lottery !
Selected Exeter – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
1.30 Quite an open handicap for conditional jockeys and plenty of the in form horses in Espalion, Fubar, solstalla and How’s The cricket have a few questions to answer off testing marks and on a much stiffer track. Malangen was going nowhere quick until landing a competitive claimer at Southwell and has held his form pretty well since . He is 1 from 1 at the track and should run well at long odds.
¼ pt ew Malangen @ 16/1
2.00 Sinobi looked good winning first time over hurdles and the penalty unlikely to stop him . Won here in a bumper .
¾ pt win Sinobi @ 8/11
2.30 This has a winnable look to it as the novice Ga Law is not on a generous mark in his first handicap. Celtic Joy did little wrong last year, including first time. His mark is high enough and he usually races at more benign tracks but his stable does well here , despite the yard being in and out of late .
¼ pt win Celtic Joy @ 7/2
3.00 This looks a match between the unlucky Misstree Song , all over the winner until a last hurdle mishap , against who What when , but the tip is the more consistent . Just the slight worry regarding a stiffer track and the Dan Skelton stable being hit and miss of late .
½ pt win Misstree Song @ 5/4
3.30 The in form Bossiney Boy has claims but is looking hard to win with I prefer concentrating on s couple of unexposed youngsters in No Thanks and Isosceles, who both ran well last time , both finishing well on speed tracks and both will relish this tougher circuit . Preference is for the ex- Irish Isosceles, who had his first run for the cracking stable of Fergal O’Brien last time and ran an encouraging race . The stable does well here as does the jockey . No thanks also has form claims but the god stable is rarely seen here and the jockey is unsuccessful at the track. Slightly put off by the first time wind op, not a positive for the O’Brien stable .
½ pt win Isosceles @ 4/1
No advice from Thurles
Selected Southwell – all weather – polytrack
4.10 The back to form Dapper Man is sure to belt out and try to make all, but is now on a testing mark and hasn’t shone here in previous visits. He’s well drawn as the far side tends to be the place to be here on the straight track. He wont have an easy time of it up front with track regulars Queen Of Kalahari and Red Stripes also known for getting stuck in early . samovar is another course regular who sees this trip out well, in form and shouldn’t be far away, as long as his high draw is no inconvenience . Both Mews house and My kinda Day are youngsters hard to rule out .
¼ pt ew Samovar @ 11/1
5.10 A very modest heat and despite a nudge up the weights, the in form veteran Lucky Beggar has run well here In the past and looks pretty safe ew .
¼ pt ew Lucky Beggar @ 6/1
5.40 PREMUM RACE
6.15 It looked quite a deep maiden when Macmerry jim was 2nd here and didn’t do badly next time up to this trip on soft turf . He just gets the nod over Sweet Bertie while both Honor day and Basilic are interesting newcomers .
¼ pt win Macmerry Jim @ 6/4
6.45 Worth risking the consistent Evening Spirit first time on this surface for a leading stable that does well here . Track specialists Equidae and Light Lily are now both in stiff marks .
¼ pt win Evening Spirit @ 4/1
7.45 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
5.30 Not a deep event and despite conceding weight all round, Rishworthan has the form In the book to be the one to beat , and pedigree is encouraging for the surface . The wide draw could catch Shababiya out while the longer trip is the issue for the other market fancy in Accrington Stanley .
¼ pt win Rishworthan @ 4/1
6.00 She do brings useful turf form to the table but does have a penalty and a 3 months absence to overcome . Koepp did really well on debut at Haydock on easy ground but the top trainer introduces an interesting newcomer in Pontius ???
6.30 Henrik did well on turf last time in quite a good contest and is odds on to land this , but returns from a break and has been unlucky in the draw, especially as he likes to dominate. The consistent Baba Reza has to prove effectiveness away from the Wolver tapeta so worth trying the consistent Rommel , well drawn and proven on the surface.
¼ pt win Rommel @ 10/3
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
8.00 Great Honour did well on debut , is well drawn and the top stable has plenty of winners here . This looks a deep maiden but should be up to it .
½ pt win Great Honour @ 13/8
