No Sighs when he lands the 2.25 @ 25/1

Today’s Fortune for a Fiver

15p ew Lucky 15 & 25p ew acca

 Bridge of Sighs 2.25 @ 25/1

Mystic dawn 3.00 @ 8/1

Tomahawk Kid 5.15 @ 11/2

Pair of jacks 3.20 @ 8/1

Selected Newmarket on this undulating, galloping and stiff track- going is good to firm

2.25 This is highly winnable and the likeable Bridge of Sighs is most overpriced . Earlier in the season  he ran up  a sequence of 4 wins In 5 starts and then the handicapper got very serious and he found it much tougher. He got back into the winning vein with a win at Brighton on good to firm, winning pretty cosily . He’s four pound shgher for that but wasn’t disgraced at all off this mark last time at Yarmouth on unsuitable soft ground. With his rivals having mote negatives than positives, looks the best longshot of the day.

½ pt ew bridge of Sighs @ 25/1

3.00 A Class 1 sprint for 2yos fillies and I’m with David Simcock to dominate this . he runs both Mystic Dawn and Pellucid who both won well on their debuts in modest company and have bith gone on to run big races in much better company. Mystic Dawn looked a bit of an awkward ride at Salisbury bit was still an excellent 2nd in a Group 3 with Pellucid just a length back and today;s fav Perfect Angel a few lengths behind . That is the best form on shw and I’m surprised at the bookies quotes. I take Mystic Dawn to confirm the form. Spiritual Lady won very easily and impressively on the Chelmsford polytrack, but that came off a mark of only 78 and that’s the level she’s run to in previous turf runs , which is nowhere good enough.

½ pt ew Mystic Dawn @ 8/1    ¼ pt Rev F/c Mystic dawn – Pellucid

4.10 Dawn Horizon has done well in just 4 races,  but the handicapper looked in charge last time and she is far from sure to have an easy time of it up front today with the  enigmatic Lovely Story in the field.  Hestina has to come here with a good shiur but preference is for the tough and consistent Graceland and surely her reward for consistency will come soon, possibly today.

¼ pt win Graceland @ 4/1

4.45 This is the acid test for the progressive Alfredo after his demolition job on the all weather off a much lower mark. Many of thse are battling against the handicapper and one who has been given a chance at the weights is the consistent Percy Veer, who looks a nice ew bet.

¼ pt ew Percy Veer @ 10/1

5.15 Quite a bit of pace on here with Ghinia, Big Chill, Pendo and Mister Cool Cash all likely to make an early bid, but none of these make any appeal off their marks or make up , and as most of these are drawn high, this is where I expect the race to develop . Tomahawk Kid has done really well in all of his 5 starts with 2 wins and 3 places. He did well at win at Nottingham last time with the disappointing Flyboy and the relativelly unexposed Timeless Art a few lengths behind.  A six Pound hit makes this tougher but far from impossible and his profile suggests that this stiffer track will be even more suitable.

½ pt ew Tomahawk Kid @ 11/2

Back with the rest soon

Uttoxeter- good ground on this slightly undulating and galloping track

2.00 The short priced fav is La Bague Au Roi who established herself as one of the better bumper types last season, but this looks quite a deep contest with Milan express, Nightfly and Popy Kay all with big stables and also having showed ability last season. I’m with Groovejet, who is a 93 rated flat horse and if transferring that level would walk away with this. Nice price for a small play

¼ pt win Groovejet @ 9/1

3.10 This is most winnable and it offers a good opportunity for the lightly raced C&D winner Wistari Rocks to crack the double.

½ pt win Wistary Rocks @ 9/4

3.45 An absolute crackerjack of  a novice chase with all 6 of these being good over timber and all taking their chances over fences for the first time. The best of these over hurdles was Top Nitchm who is just shy of top class, but he is at hs best in the mud, as is Le prezein , who would also prefer a longer trip. I’m having an interest on Charbel, who wil like the ground more than most and his hurdles form was pretty good. The excellent Solstics Star, 5 wins and 2 seconds in huis last 5 runs has a but to do but will run determinedly as usual and the other pair are also nice types but flying a bit high. You have to watch this as all of these are likely to do us favours this season.

¼ pt win Charbel @ 11/1

4.20 A strong pace is assured with lemons gent ,Mr Burgess, Noble legend and Special Wells all sure to be getting on with early . None of these make any appeal on current form  or their marks and this does present a good opportunity for Muckle Roe , and if he can’t win , it has to go down as a disappointment.

½ pt win Muckle Roe @ 5/2

4.50 Very extravagant comes here on the hat-trick and returns after a 5 months break and just a 6 pound higher mark. He’s a most progressive type and against beatable rivals , I expect him to get the 3 timer.

¾ pt win Very extravagant @ 11/4

Wetherby- good ground on this flat an d galloping track

2.10 Clondaw Cracker is the odds on fav but his two wions have come in a bumper and a point. The bumper wasn’t the strongest race ever but he runs for a high profile owner and also a top trainer. This wont be easy with a handful of lightly raced types who have showed respectable form for big stables.

No Bet

3.20  Abricot de Laosis returns to fences off a much higher mark and loos to have  a lot on his plate as does Theatre Guide, who is now very high in the weights and would prefer softer ground and a longer trip. Indian Stream is a prolific type but is now racing high in the weights. With Top Cat Henry and Shadows lengthen making scant appeal in their current form, tbis could be Déjà vu as Pair of Jacks  and degooch fought out  the finish over C&D just a fortnight ago, but both were chinned by a strong finisher. I’m just amazed what big priced this pair are.

½ pt win Pair of Jacks @ 8/1  ¼ pt win Degooch @ 10/1  ¼ pt rev F/c

3.55 Cliffs of Dover was only  a modest type on the flat but he has made a terrific impact over hurdles winning 4 of his last 5 and his latest was a terrific effort against older horses in a Cheltenham handicap. He gives a lot of weight away to some potentially decent types, but the price is most reasonable .

¾ pt win Cliffs of Dover @ 6/4

4.30 This has a most winnable look to it and you can find more negatives than positives for most of these. The nod goes to Sirius star who has the ground is his favour, comes here in good shape and ha time on his side.

¼ pt ew Sirius Star @ 10/1

5.00 Thyne of Gold did it well last time but a hit in the weights and quicker ground makes the double pretty tough, but in fairness this wont take much winning. Miss Barbosa has had few chances and her string finishing 3rd last time suggest very much this longer trip will suit well.

½ pt ew Miss Barbosa @ 8/1

Selected Newcastle- all weather – polytrack. The track is stiff and galloping

5.10 Another Lincoln and tectonic both improved for their first tries over this C&D when 2nd and 3rd behind the prolific The reedev Way. They both came off  a pretty good gallop that night and my concern is that there is no assured pace setter in this. The form  of that race is pretty good and I’m with these to fight out the finish again. The likeable Kirtling runs this C&D well but is now a bit high in the weights while Bassett Bleu won a very weak affair over C&D last time and thus is much stiffer test.  I give the nod to tectonic as he will find this trip far enough and Connor Beasley will be a bit wiser as he committed for home a bit early last time.

½ pt ew Tectonic @ 14/1   ¼ pt Rev F/c Tectonic _ Another Lincoln day

5.45 The odds on fav is the William Haggas trained Mojito , who cost an absolute packet and must be wiser for his recent 3rd which is this race is about the best form on offer. He switches from turf today and that makes Somnabulist of interest as he ran  a most solid race over C&D recently and the 2nd horse has sauntered home since. Plenty of these are in the infancy of their career, but the tip looks way overpriced for his chance.

½ pt ew Somnambulist @ 20/1

8.15  The likeable veteran Meandmyshadow lost little last time off this mark over C&D when a brave and closing 3rd. She is a straight forward type and could well be front rank all the way and stay on for  a deserved and overdue success.

½ pt ew Menadmyshadow @ 15/1

Dundalk – all weather – polytrack

5.30 A likely Story continues to keep supporters well and truly in the poor house and looks safe to take on again tonight. Sufoof is another punters pal with no wins in many tries so it’s no surprise that the bookies make Magic bear the shortish fav coming here on the back of a decent turf 2nd over shorter. So she has a few questions to answer in  terms of trip and surface. Almoner was 4th on debut over C&D behind Grainnes Dream and a Likely Story and normal improvement would see her bang there. I’m with Grainne ew at nice odds.

¼ pt ew Grainnes dream @ 8/1

6.00 Few of these are shaping like a winner about to happen and many are switching from turf, which looks more desperate than design. Both Breath if Truth and Thomas O Malley have decent form over C&D and are pretty closely matched and worthy of a small fc

¼ pt Rev F/c Breath of Truth- Thomas O Malley

6.30 Massif central is holding his form well but can be only watched on his first try on the surface. Noble Intention has had plenty of chances , but is rarely far away but preference is for First premio, trained by the king of the track Mick Halford. He ran well on his recent effort, looks sure to improve for both the run and also the longer trip.

1/2pt ew First Premio @ 5/1

7.00 I’m hoping there is a Nr in this as my selection , the most reliable and tough Fairy Footsteps is the first reserve. She remains in tip form and the return to this trip is in her favour. If she doesn’t get in, the next best is track specialist Excelli.

½ pt win Fairy Footsteps @ 10/1

7.30 Quite a few English raiders for this valuable Listed race for filies and two of them, Red Box and Desert Haze come out best at the weights .Sir Mark Prescott has a 50% success rate here and Red Box does have the stronger claims. The surface is an unknown but you can be sure they haven’t cme here for the day out.

¾ pt win  Red Box @ 7/2

8.00 A typical big field Dundalk low grade handicap where many are just running for the owner’s amusement . Arbourfield won decisively over C&D two starts back and has since run well off this mark at a shorter trip. Back up in trip, he looks most solid ew as the market leaders have a bit toi prove at the trip and surface.

½ pt ew Arborfield

8.30 & 9.00

Can’t find even one runner I’d be interested in  chancing even  a small wager . Good luvk if you are having a go
