Musselburgh – good ground on this flat and galloping track.
12.05 BIG HIT
A weak handicap and it does look good for short priced fav One for Hocky
2pt win One for Hocky @ evens
12.35 Not great quality in this novice hurdle and there are around half a dozen with decent clains, but good ground at Musselburgh demands a bit of pace and I’m with fair flat horse Thank You Very Much, who may well have the legs of his rivals.
¼ pt ew Thank You Very Much @ 9/1
1.10 Boruma did really well over hurdles recently winning a good race at Doncaster. Back over fences he had little to fearfrom this field and has run well here before.
2pts win Boruma @ 15/8
1.45 It looks a match between Tradewinds and Merchant of Dubai. The latter runs well here on the flat and over hurdles and has his round and is just the tip to come out on top.
¼ pt win Merchant of Dubai @ 9/4
2.20 Un Anjou spurned a winning chance last time out, but time could tell that he had a bit if a tough task against two progressive types. This is much easier and if he can’t go close in this , you would have to worry about future wins.
1pt win Un Anjou @ 4/1
2.55 Claude Carter was a big priced winner over C&d last time out and is taken to confirm form over Endeavour . De Chissler has also raced against the tip a few times and wont be far away again.
¾ pt ew Claude Carter @ 5/1
3.25 Imtoo Gemerous got the better of Masirann over C&D last time on similar ground but I strongly fabcy a reversal of placings today due to jockey bookings. I watched that race and the tip received minimum assistance form the saddle and with the very able Danny Cook aboard today I fancy he will be too strong in the closing stages
1.5 pts win Masiraan @ 5/2
Doncaster – good to soft ground on this flat and galloping track
Most of these are not at their best on softish ground or at this 3 mile trip. I’m taking a chance with Primo Capitano, who chased home a good one at Chepstow and should be a better chaser at this trip on this ground.
¼ pt ew Primo Capitano @ 11/2
12.45 Relics Rock is a most likeable sort and was one of the best bumper horses in the country on flat tracks, as he showed with a 2nd in the Champion Bumper at Aintree. He’s only even money today , which is shirt enough in this big field, especially as there are a couple of decent flat types in Nivirak and Silvery Moon who could both be very dangerous
1.20 Un Ace is a useful type and his form is good enough to win this with ease. What worries me about this on is that he is only having his 9th race in 3 seasons, so he could wel be hard to keep sound and his latest race was less than a month ago.I’m with Free Thinking who was a decent hurdler and has joined a stable renowned for chases and the tip is closely related to fomer top class chaser Long Run
½ pt win Free Thinking @ @ 6/1
1.55 The wonderful Solway Sam has only been out of the first two once in his last nine starts and I was very keen on hi today but what has put me off a bit id the jockey booking. Harry Haynes doesn;t ride much nowadays , but he ticks all the other boxes.
¾ pt ew Solway Sam @ 13/2
2.30 Big Water may struggle at bit with his weight rise and this quicker track. Shadrack lost nothing in defeat last time and has to go close in this easier race. I’m with Billy Cuckoo, who I strongly fancied last time but it just didn’t work out for him,. He is most effective over C&D and has conditions to suit.
½ ptew Billy Cuckoo @ 13/2
3.05 A most winnable handicap and I’m with Ivans Back , who is very fairly handicapped and the trip is no problem and the ground should be fine . Ergo Sum is the danger, if he gets the trip.
¾ pt ew Ivans Back @ 10/1
3.35 No Play in the bumper
Newbury – very soft ground on this flat and galloping track
12.25 After his impressive winnin g debut overthe useful GoldenDoyen , all Karezak has to beat is this vety soft ground. Mick Jazz and Old Guard are likely decent types. No play on the fav @ 4/6
12.55 PREMIUM RACE
1.30 PREMIUM RACE
2.05 A quality field of young novice chaes and the best of these over hurdles was the very excellent Saphir Du Rheu, and he should win but Deep Trouble and Dell Arca are decent types and Conwygre is capable returning from a long break
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.15 Only 4 go to post now and they all have chances in a race where this quarter could all have good seasons.
3.45 Days of Heaven is expected to improve on his Ok hurdles debut At Aintree but makes no appeal to me at 6/4, despite it being a winning opportunity.
Wolverhampton – all weather –tapeta
3.55 BEST FORECAST RACE
I’m pretty keen on True Course in this one. Owned by Godolphin, and she cost an absolute packet, £300,000, but here she is running off a mark og only 62. This is probably about as good as she is , but it is certainly good enough to win this. She’s back to het best trip and this C&d looks a lot more suitable than Kempton, where she has run most of her races. It will be disappointing if Frozen princess can win this as her form is very modest . Toni’s A Stardid well to win over c&d last time , but is vulnerable with his weight rise. He will probably set the pace and at this trip The Dapper Tapper will probably try to go with him. True Course is well drawn to get a nice tow into the race abd should have too much finishing speed. Robin Hill returns from a 3 month break on a very fair handicap mark and for an in form stable is a big danger.
1pt win True Course @ 11/4 ½ pt Rev F/c True Course – Robin Hill
4.25 BONUS FORECAST RACE
Thorpe Bay was seen in a much better light last time when allowed to bowl along in front and showed lots of pace. This is his best trip and with a scarcity of early pace about he can get to the front and get revenge over his recent conqueror Invincible Ridge. Maria Montz has yet to even place at this trip , but ran well at Lingfield at five furlngs and this slower surface makes her a definite longshot at around 16/1.
¾ pt ew Thorpe Bay @ 6/1 ½ pt Rev F/c Invincible Ridge – Thorpe Bay
4.55 The Wigham stable is at it again with a massive gamble on Shotgun Start, who hasn’t showed very much in maidens , but this stable have been right before , and how !This has resulted in a lot of runners with big chances taking a walk in the market and the one that catches my eye is Seven Lucky Seven. He was the subject of some activity in the market last time and wasn’t far away in 3rd after a bit if a troubled run. He finished alongside Jololy Red jeanz and Logans Lad that night and they allhave a shout tonight. Chookie’s Lass showed up well last time in a better race and is anotherwith claims
½ pt ew Seven Lucky Seven @ 10/1
5.25 A very weak maiden. John Reel was unlucky not to win at this track last time but is going up in trip considerably , by 3/4 of a mile. He ran well in bumpers so you would expect him to get the trip but at 5/4 I can pass
5.55 Majeyda comes out the best of these at the weights but she is down from her best trip and has no experience of artificial surfaces. She is Godolphin owned so yo would expect them to know, but there are negatives about this odds on shot. Badr Al Badoor is a likeable tye but did have the run of the race at Kempton at this trip and hasn’t looked like a stayer at 7 furlongs before. I’m with Penny Drops, who has a good chance at the weights and this consistent type has good form on synthetics. She’s has a iitle break but the stable is going well and is a very fair price on the context of this race.
½ pt ew Penny Drops @ 8/1
6.25 Showboating is the short priced fav for this handicap and has a great chance at the weights, but it’s 20 races since he last won , and with his hold up style he needs everything to fall into place. There should be a good pace on with the very genuine Small john in the field and I fancy him to run abiogger race than the bookies think, he’s rated 33/1 . He will probably need this but is one to watch here in the near future. Smokethatthunders has been running well here over 6 furlongs and is just as effective over this longer trip.In a weak race, he can get a deserved success.
1.25 pts win Smokethathunders @ 9/2
6.55 King of Eden ran a cracketr at Kempton recently and there is no reason whatsoever why he can’t duplicate that run and take this winnable handicap.Beautiful Stranger has dropped to a good mark and could be dangerous but Hagree will have to be a reformed character on his first start for Declan Carroll to take this,
1.25 pts win King of Eden @ 11/2
7.25 A very competitive handicap for the finale. The two dark horses are Moonday Sun and Lacan who has their first starts for new stables. Lacan is by far the more interesting on his first run for Marco Bottu, as he is lightly raced and has had some very tough tasks of late. Moonday Sun has joined Andy Turnell who is kore of a national hunt trainer and when last seen he looked like a horse going through the motions.Kingscroft was 2nd in this last year and comes here with sound claims but I give the nod to Berlusca, who has run well over C&D in some tough races . Silverware goes well at the track , and is one to watch over the coming weeks as he returns from abreak.
½ pt ew Berlusca @ 9/1
Dundalk – all weather – polytrack
6.10 A very tough opener with probable pace setter neing Majestic Timeline, who is a bit high in the weights and recovering fitness after a break. Very hard to pick from Sylvan Mist, Strategic Heights, Danz Gift and Speed Dream. One to watch
6.40 Dark Alliance has yet to try this surface but is way ahead of these on form and the drop in trip shouldn’t be a problem. He is poorly drawn also, but despite all of this he should still win, but at odds on I can pass.
7.10 Avenue Montaigne is easily the best of these at the ratings but this longer trip and the surface gives him a look of vulnerability, so much that he is only joint fav with the only one in the race with a chance, Bairns at Bay. No value here
7.40 Tony Carroll did well on his lat raid here recently and he runs the rejuvenated Queen Aggie, who is a little high in the wights and not well drawn but the race is winnable and she can make the journey very worth the while.
¾ pt win Queen Aggie @ 3/1
8.10 Nedera goes for the hat-trcik but she didn’t have much to spare over Trade Marked here recently and the places should be revered tonight.Ex English trained Plough Boy has his first start for his irish handler, but is high in the weights anyway.
1pt ew Trade Marked @ 5/1
8.40 There is no doubting that Manorov has the form to win this and is well handicapped. He is hard to win with but has first class claims tonight , but it is an open race with all of : Alvar, Christys Call and Stynes having chances.
¼ pt win Manorov @ 4/1
9.10 Shalambar is the very short priced fav for Tony Carroll in the finale and with his weight rise only has an average chance. The problem is that there are so many in this field with average chances , such as Sharjah, Little Swampy, That’s Outrs and Perfect Ten .
