Catterick softish ground on this undulating and very tight track
2.10 Way in the past are the days when All The Aces was running very well in top handicaps on the flat and also over hurdles. He is now with Keith Dalglish and there was scant encouragement from him on his run on the all weather , when he was very well backed and finished out way at the back. At the weights it looks a match between the massively in form Lord Navits and the down graded It’s A Man’s World. Both of these like to front run , so it’s not impossible that they could ruin each other’s chances, but there is nothing in the field to take advantage. Of the pair, It’s A Mans World will probably be better suited to this track and is worth a play.
½ pt win Its A Mans World
2.40 Brunello finished a long way behind Classinaglass at Mussleburgh, but that wason prett quick ground. Priot t that , Brunello has opened his account over fences with a very gutsy win over C&D , on similar ground. He’s still not badly handicapped and with track form counting so much here, carries my money
1pt win Brunello @ 11/2
3.10 Allex Encore has made a very favourable impression in winning her last two, and the runner she beat at plumpton, did nothing wrong yesterday at Exeter. She could be pretty god , jut is conceding a lot of weight to her two serious rivals in Debdebdeb and Molasses. Debdebdeb was quite a useful stayer on the flat for Andrew Balding, and looked well likely to wi at the first time of asking at Haydock, but was outstayed in the rush for the line. That was at Newcastle and I can’t see this tight track being any use to her. Molasses trounced Twentytwo’staken at Plumpton on similar ground and that one has gone on to win again, admittedly in a very weak event. She has a hard task giving away the weight , but I do like the attitude of Allez Encore
½ pt win Allez Encore @3/1

4.10 Narcissist looked promising early on in the season but has put together a series of lifeless runs. He tries fences today and he’s got blinkers on, but for what he’s shaped of late, you would be better off with a magic wand. The fav is Henri De Boitron . who goes for the double after a decent win at Leicester. That track and here are like chalk and cheese, and he struggled earlier at the undulating Sedgefield. The door is wide open for Cousin Guiilaume to win on his first run for top trainer Donald McCian. He has left the very decent of James ewart and has always looked the type to eventually do well , and he’s still only six!. He’s never raced here but the stable is the winning most stable here and they should be happy that is his kind of track.
1.25 pts win Cousin Guilame @ 15/8
4.40 A hunter chase and ost of these have been going pretty well between the flags but Best Dresses Cold has by far the greatest experience over regulation fences and is running at a decent enough level, including on this kind of ground, to give these a jumping lesson.
½ pt ew Best Served Cold @ 11/2
5.10 No play in the closing bumper

Roy’s Legacy will be desperate to lead , but even though only 5 run, he is likely to be upstaged early on by the beter drawn Bubbly Bailey. They are likely to go quite a pace and this should set it up for the short priced fav Quality Art. He’s massively in form and did little wring over the weekend over C&D when just failing to get up. He ‘s well drawn on the rails to trail the front runners and very decent claimer,Rob Hornby, keeping the ride, another win looks on. Pharoh Jake is running well and could well snatch the F/c spot.
1pt win Quality Art @ 5/4
3.00 Maggie Pink is a very game and tough mare who is highly one dimensional and goes hard from the front. I am surprised that connections are persisting with her at this trip, as she does paddle in the closing stages. She was touched off at Chelmsford by today’s rival Bunt Dandy, but the handicapper has made it tough for this one today. Sonnatetion is up in grade and will find it tougher but the most likeliest winner is the improved Semeral. Like quite a few fillies, she does have her quirks, but there’s no doubting her ability to win off this mark with a great make up over a C&D she runs very well.
1.25 pts win Semeral @ 9/4
3.30 It’s highly significant that £400,000 yearling, Hakam is now odds on fav on his debut running in the High profile silks of Hamdan Al Makhtoum. This does suggest supreme confidence in a winning debut, but @ 8/11.it’s not my kind of bet. I’ll be watching , as he could be something special
4.00 Some very in form runners here. Gios Last is on a 4 timer and he hasn’t been troubled in winning his last 3 and is actually a pound lower than his last win !He hasn’t been beating startlingly tough opposition , but has been doing it well and is odds on for the 4 timer. This does look quite a bit tougher. The grey Silver Mountain, impressed at Kempton when winning on his debut with today’s rival Par Three way back. They then experimented with him on the fibresand, which was a total disaster. He tried to lead all the way at Kempton, but was past and came back for more . he wont have an easy time of it up front today with Westerly in the field, but his debut win suggested that a win off this mark is highly possible.
¼ pt ew Slver Mountain @ 7/1
4.30 The Godolphin pair head the market here and it loos between them . Greatest Journey is on a 5 timer and all he has done has improve and improve with his front running tactics. He’s now a lot higher in the weights and is dropping in trip and the Godolphin other runner, Four Seasons could well have too much pace for him. He hasn;t raced for 3 months , but the absence is hardly likely to be an issue and it’slikely that he’s been kept for some of the major races coming up at this rack in the near future. He won a Class 2 event here last time , and did do it very well. He is an exciting prospect and should repay fav backers. The absolutely brilliantly tough Anonymous John takes his chance and will run is race, but this is not is his best trip and he’s very close in the weights to the tip. Pharmaceutcal was well held off this mark at Chelmsford and this is much tougher.
1.25 pts win Four Seasons @ 5/4
5.00 It’s real tough race and with no real front runner, it could get tactical. I was on Lady Lunchalot last time over C&d and she won @ 9/1. Of all the field, she is likeliest to set the fractions and could have an easy time if it. She is tough type and despite a rise in the weights , could get the double. She is the selection purely on her make up. It’s hard to rule anything out here.
¼ pt ew Lady Lunchalot @ 9/1
5.30 An apprentice hands and heels race where whips are carried but cannot be used. The ideal tye in this kind of race is a prominent racer who will willingly respond and yu have this with veteran Johnny Skull, who has been going well of late . He weakened out of it at Chelmsford last time out, but that was a very strongly run affair and he is likely to have a easy time of it up front and could get another win. The fav is the in form Skidby Mill , but he is a bit high in the weights and has been unlucky in the draw. He is likely to exert most pressure on the tip early on, but will find this a lot tougher. Youm Jamil is still in the best of form and is capable off this mark. He has a good jockey and is capable of pinching this ne late on, but he doesn’t race here very often
¼ pt ew Johnny Skull @ 6/1
Kempton – All weather- polytrack
5.45 Nouvelle Ere did nothing wrong in his attempt for the hat-trick last time, strongly suggesting that he can win off this mark . The return to thus trio is also in his favour. This is quite an open race. Ever Yours got it right last time out, but takes a stiff rise in the weights and also in trip, so I have my doubts about him. I’m with Sail Home, who was rated a lot higher a season or so ago , but has run two good races of late and with smart claimer Hector Crouch, taking a valuable 7 pounds off his back, he has a good chance of another rack win.
¾ pt ew Sail Home @ 8/1
6.15 Hidden Asset is the fav, but it’s to have reservations about him at this trip and also with is handicap mark. There should be a decent pace in this contest and it gives Jazri a golden opportunity. He has been knocking on the door of late, but hs style of running is always going to make him hard to win with. This is highly winnable and Hayley Turner is capable of producing him at exactly the right moment.
1.25 pts win Jazri @ 9/2
6.45 Tryster has made a huge impression in winning his last two, and though up a lot in the weights, is the one to beat. He could be pretty good indeed .
1pt win Tryster @ 10/11
7.15 Velociter has the best form but he has looked hard to win with and has been off for 4 months as he’s had the snip, which should help, but the Richard Hannon stable has been in better form. Mystical Spirit ran very well on his debut at Lingfield , chasing a good one home and with a reliable type well held in 3rd. H should gi one better tonight. Inexorable Tide was a costly failure last time and already looks in need on a much greater test of stamina.
1pt win Mytical Spirit @ evens

8.15 A big field for this Class 7 handciap and it’s wide open with all of : Berrahri, Fire King, Welsh Inlet, Special report and Distant Shadow havin g good shouts. I’m with topweight Polydamus, who returns form a5 month break, but the absence shouldn’t be an issue. He rarely races in this grade, and has never missed the frame when he has. Katmai River is going well here of late, but a slight rise in the weights makes it tougher tonight.
½ pt ew Polydamus @ 18/1
