Did Ok yesterday with a 3/1 winner and two 12/1 places . Last one wasn't far away
25p ew Lucky 15 & 25p ew acca ( stake £8)
Stay in my Heart 4.45 F @ 10/1
Murgan 4.55 N @ 4/1
He's a Bully 5.05 W @ 2/1
Private Malone 5.35 @ 10/1
Newmarket – soft ground on this undulating and stiff track.
1.30 A big field but two of the field have already showed good form and they are Pamona ans Wardat Dubai, , whose level of form is very similar but the sire of Pamona gets lots of soft ground winners and that , combined with his solid form over C&D makes him a very solid fav.
1pt win Pamona @ 11/8
2.00 Quite a ooen nursery and there are a few who should be fine over C&D and on soft ground, including fav Lashkaal. I’m with Secret Spirit, who has been running well off this mark , in fact , she’s been eased a bit in the handicap and shold relish this C&Don soft ground. Yorkshire is interesting on his first start for Luca Cumani.
½ pt ew Secret Spirit @ 10/1
2.35 PREMIUM RACE
3.10 No Play in the maiden
3.45 Hawkesbury has the best form, the ground and C&D should hold no terrors and he is a good bet to get the better of market rival Fannan , who won well on debut but this longer trip on softer ground looks right against him. Algaith could be more of a threat
1.5 pts win Hawkesbury @ 11/8
4.20 No Play in the maiden- sorry
4.55 BIG HIT
The Zetland stakes and this will be a right old stamina test for these 2yos. Crafty Choice is on a 4 timer and won well on soft ground last time out over a mile . He isn’t bred for long trips and could well struggle in the closing stages today. Pallister is bred for a trip, but you wouldn’t think it as he has weakened badly out of his recent races over much shorter. His top stable is really struggling at the moment . I’m very keen on Murgan. He ran a very decent race on his debut and is bred to be a styer and to also appreciate soft ground . The stable is going well and the jockey is massively in form Andrea Atzeni.
1pt ew Murgan @ 4/1
5.25 A tricky handicap to conclude. The very likeable Fruit Pastille is much improved and tries to transfer her improvement on polytrack to soft turf, this will be toug with her weight rise, but she is improving. The fav is the lightly raced Temptress, who looked very good last time and will take some beating. Buredyma has form on soft ground but looks high in the weights while the revitalised No Poppy is a confirmed mudlark , but rarely runs on stiff tracks like Newmarket. Boonga Roogeta has been given a chance by the handicapper and she could surprise at long odds. In a difficult race I’m with topweight Auction, who will find this race easier and should be Ok on the ground.
¼ pt ew Auction @ 7/1
Worcester- good to soft ground on this flat and galloping track
1.45 Milly Malone is the fav but she can be taken on racing on ground far softer than ideal. There wasn’t that much between Ball Hopper, One for The Boss and No Through Road on their running at Ffos las on soft ground over a bit shorter. I watched that race and all No Thorugh Road was doing was staying ans staying. The stable is in very good form and he is the best bet on the card.
1.25 pts win No Through Road @ 7/2
2.15 A really good handicap for novice chasers and the short list is very long with all of the field having some kind of chance. I’m with Kingcora, who let supporters down a few times last season but finally got it right tackling this kind of trip on soft ground. He’s a bit higher in the weights but gave me the impression he could be a young stayer to follow this season.
½ pt ew Kingcora @ 9/1
2.50 Here goes Lysino again , he’s hit the frame in his last 5 races in small field handicaps, and never looks like he’s keen to battle. He’s up again in the weights and the soft ground will be against him. Larteta didn’t shine on his chasing debut and softer ground is also against him. Orabora is dropped in class and in the weights and remains capable. If he can’t win this , they will be worried.
½ pt win Oragora @ 2/1
3.25 None of these have ever run but Age of Discovery is trained by a flat stable and he is related to none of other than Eclipse winner Mukhadram ! . He’s unlikely to be anything nearthat level , but is still worth a small play.
¼ pt win Age of Discovery @ 9/1
4.00 Lady Buttins was a very decent bumper horse last season, she likes soft ground and this kind of track and should be able to win this weak novice hurdle at her first try. Sea Claria is the best of those with experience , but is much better going right handed .Pitter patter won two bumpers last season , but is not bred for hurdling.
1.25 pts win Lady Buttons @ 5/4
4.35 It’s hard to rule any of the 6 out but I’m having a small play on Princess Caetani, who is still well handicapped judges on her god flat form.
¼ pt ew Princess caetani @ 7/1
5.05 Derrintogher Bliss Has the best hurdles form but his form o soft ground isn’t good. Oth Binge drinker and He’s a Bully has good bumper form but I’m with the latter, who has just been bought for a packet by his top stable.
¾ pt win He’s A Bully 2/1
5.35 No No Romeo was one of the season’s top bumper horses and made his hurdling debut against some classy opposition at the Aintree Festival. He found that all too much but still ran very well. He’s odds on for this but wont hav it easy with a number of promising types in contention, including Blackthorn Prince, Brownville and Go Odee Go.I’m with Pivate Malone, who has jumping experience and has just joined an form top stable for a lot of money.
¾ pt ew Private Malone @ 10/1
Fontwell – good to soft ground on this tight and specialist track
1.55 Miles to Memphis won both if his bumpers last season with real style and this novice hurdle is at his mercy. Both Azabitmour and Flashman have decent form but both have showed temperament problems. The fav should win but at ½ , I’m watching .
2.25 A real treat in store with two very useful novice hurdlers making their chasing debuts. At this trip and track I would favour Virak to get the better of Deputy Dan, but he Nicholls stable is not really firing, so again it’s a very nice race to watch.
3.00 PREMIUM RACE
3.35 Triumphant was strongly fanvcied last time out but could only manage 2nd and he’s been bumped up the weights a lot for his efforts. The fav is Pressies Girl, who is not well handicapped and she is an other Paul Nichols runner, beware.I’m with Urcalin, who has form over C&d and when he won last time looked right out of it until running on with great gusto in the closing stages.today’s softer ground looks sure to help and he looks a good ew bet.
½ pt ew Urcalin @ 8/1
4.10 PREMIUM RACE
4.45 Not many here stick out but I’m happy to be with Stay in My Heart, who is rarely that far away ,and in the context of this weak race, that could be good enough. One of the better jockeys in this conditional jockeys race is in the saddle .
½ pt ew Stay In My Heart @ 10/1
5.15 & 5.45
Not enough to go on in the closing two bumpers
Kempton – all weather- polytrack
5.55 A low grade handicap and very few with any chance . The market looks to have got this about this right with co favs Teide Peak,Hidden Asset and Silken Waters holding the best chances. Silken Waters doesn’t have a good draw, but the other two have. Silken waters has been given a chance by the handicapper and is the youngest of the trio, so is open to a bit more improvement. If there was going to be a shock it could come from very well drawn and well weighted Highly Likely, who could be a worth a saver at massive odds.
½ pt ew Silken Waters @ 4/1
6.25 It’s a dreadful maiden and it gives Moiety a great chance to improve on her debut third in a fair race at Wolver. She is odds on and it would be a surprise if she’s beaten. Nelson’s Pride had some decent form earlier in the season but has lost her way of late. Perhaps the change to Roger Ingram’s yard will get her appetite back.
6.55 Natural Wine has the best form but hasn’t really a polytrack pedigree and this could be fought out by the two Godolphin runners. Wentworth Falls has gone close a couple of times and it’s a case of when or if he wins his maiden . He has had the snip so that could help also. I give preference to the newcomer Global Force , who like most of the organisation’s runners, cost a packet , who is related to top all weather performer Yamal.
½ pt win Global Force @ 5/1
7.25 The Godolphin runner, Legend’s Gate has easily the best form but I’m taking a chance with newcomer China Club. This John Gosden newcpmer cost a packet, no wonder as he is related to wondermare The Fugue and to other good performers who ran well on this surface.
½ pt win China Club @ 5/1
7.55 Fiftyshadesof grey came back to his best last time with a cosy win at Wolver, but is asked a serious question on his double attempt in a tough race. Cape Summit runs this C&d well and likes to get handy, but is still a little high in the weights. Stormbound ran as well as could be expected from a bad draw at Lingfield last time. He is not that well drawn tonight, but the effect of the draw is less pronounced here. He always runs his race and is still competitively handicapped.Nathir improved to win well last time but the placed horse have done little to advertise the form. The last time we saw It’s Only Business was over a year ago completing a four tiner, it’s most unlikely that he is back to that level tonight. Swordbearer has run good races at this C&D and is the danger to the tough and honest Stormbound.
½ pt ew Stormbound @ 11/2
8.25 Mountain rescue didn’t beat a great deal when winning on his debut , but the style of his victory warranted him being respected in the future. This longer trip looks sure to suit and he is the tip. Dutch Portrait was touched off by a nose last time out, heartbreak for Premium members, but he’s gone up in the weights a bit and this shorter trip is against him. Hard to Handel looked good when winning at Wolver and could be better than the bare form. Tough race.
½ pt win Mountain Rescue @ 4/1
8.55 Exchequer has had a very light season and is well drawn and handicapped to get another win. He is very short in the market and I’m happy to be supporting Nassau Storm . This is his best trip and he goes well here also. He’s been eased a bit in the handicap and has run well here before from similar tricky draws. Never to Be needs a longer trip while Good Luck Charm is not well handicapped. At the odds, this is the best bet of the card
¾ pt ew Nassua Storm @ 16/1
9.25 A very poor field to conclude and between them they have only mustered 4 wins in 162 starts , and the ones that won look unlikely to feature in this , despite the weak field. It should go to Cadmium , who has run three good races of late and handles this track fine. The young jockey is the usual rider and froma good draw could possibly lead this all the way.
1pt win Cadmium @ 10/3
