It will be an Awesome August

The great run of success which began in mid June carried on right through July and into August

We ended July with a very healthy profit of 41pts

After a slow start to August , things have really picked up with winners @ 9/1, 4/1, 20/1 @ 6/1 in just 4 days

The laying service ended July with a highly respectable 14pts profit.

August hasn't started as I'd wish, it has  been difficult with the perfect racing ground favouring fancied runners.

I'll turn it round .

Hamish Mcgonagain 2.00 @ 10/1

Sinfinoetta 3.10 @ 3/1

Rockcliffe 3.45 @ 11/4

15p ew Lucky 15 & 25p ew acc

Father Bertie 3.10 @ 8/1

Broctune papaGio 4.00 @ 12/1

Pink Martini 2.40 @ 11/1

Sir Billy Wright 2.35 @ 7/2

Selected Chepstow- probably good ground on this undulating and galloping track

2.00 This is highly winnable and a chance is taken with Hamish McGonigan, who is the one of the younger horses in the field and has been going Ok off this mark of late and is worth a try over thos slightly longer trip against many runners who are just too hard to win  with and also high enough in the weights.

¾ pt winHamish Mcgonigan @ 10/1

2.345 Sir Billy Wright is a consistent and most likebale type who is just about in the grip of the handicapper and comes here on the back of another good run when just touched off by a big improver at ffos las. Today’s slightly slower ground is in his favour and just comes out here best at the weights with most of these uncomfortably high in the ratings. The danger is Nisser, who looks held by the handicapper but could improve for the switch to the Robert Cowell stable.

½ pt ew Sir Billy Wright @ 7/2

3.10 OH This is Us has  had a great season but is now racing off a very high mark as is the back to form Higland Colori. The slightly slower ground is in the favour of the capable and likeable Sinfonietta and can  get a deserved win today. Persun is not out of this while Glory Awaits is too well handicapped to be ruled out .

¾ pt win Sinfonietta @ 3/1

3.45 The likeable BOutan is away from her beloved Leicester and also goes up in trip, which doesn’t look a smart mopve on her first race for Bernard Llewelyn. She come sout clear at the weights in this seller , but stamina is far from assured. This looks a good opportunity for Rockcliffe who’s been going well in handicaps and will of course benefit from the drop in class and the stable ‘s record with selling debutantes is 41% , which is about 6/4 and with her clear chance , the odds are just  too big to ignore. Istimraar also comes out very well at the weights, but recent runs over hirdles suggest that his mark is most flattering .Scent of Power is the danger

¾ pt win Rockcliffe @ 11/4

4.15 A weak handicap to conclude the card and despite being high enough in the weights, ring Eye always runs this track well and does actually know how to win a race which is something his rivals have forgotten .

½ pt ew  Ring Eye @ 9/2

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta

1.15 A very valuable nursery and hard to read as many are trying the trip, or surface for the first time and also quite a few race in a handicap for the first time. Permian is an admirable type with 3 wins and a 2nd in 4 starts an dhis mark looks ok for his first try on the surface and we know he stays the trip very well,. Temerity cost a whopping £170,000 and won very well 2nd time out for high profile owners and is another with a huge shout. BOngrace waa the outsider of four when winning a handicap here over 7 furlongs and the further he went the better he looked . he’s 7 pounds higher but wasn’t disgraced off his new mark on  turf last time and is worth a small play at massive odds

¼ pt ew Bongrace @ 20/1

1.45 Maazzini continues to go in search if  first ever win  and today it will be even harder as he’s two pounds higher for his decent 2nd last time, and he’s new toi this surface. War department came back to form with a bang last time, completely out of the blue but the drop in trip and weight rise wont make it straight forward. It’s fair to say that Slingsby is hard to catch right, but when he gets an opportunity he can nail it, as was the case over C&D 3 starts back when gamely making all . That came off a 4 pound lower mark,  but he looks the likeliest leader here and could just slip the field for  a,long priced win.

½ pt ew Slingsby @ 16/1

2.50  Megara returns from a 6 months break and when last seen was well held off this mark , but it was at Southwell on the fibresand and this slightly more benign surface could suit fine. He’s going to get a bit of a soft lead here which is another plus as his rivals like to be played late. Next Edition is going well and remains fairly weighted. He has a win on tapeta at this trip and off a just a slightly lower mark at Wolver and I’m taking him to stay on just the best.

½ pt ew Next edition @ 6/1

4.00  It’s too soon to write off the prolific Just be Lucky after only one race on synthetics, even though it was a shocker, but after that he can only be watched today.Btoh Kiwi Bay and Nonno Giuolo come out well at the weights but both have a rare try on synthetics. Inshaa has good form here and isn’t badly weighted but this longer trip is a concern. He had veteran Broctune Papa gio behind here last time out but is 9 pounds better off the 3 lengths and also will be faoured by the longer trip , and he’d won here when it was turf track.

½ pt ew Broctune papa gio @ 12/1

Selected Epsom – good ground on this undulating and tricky track

2.40 A highly winnable sprint handicap with likely pacesetters Tikthebox and Tricky Dicky looking might vulnerable off their marks in this grade. With all of Frechman, Dane case  and Wild dancer dropping in trip and subsequently likely to go with the strong pace, it gives the likeable Pink Martini a very decent chance. She can be forgiven  poor run last time on very firm ground and as long as the ground is as advertised, she looks a knocking ew bet.

½ pt ew Pink Martini @ 11/1

3.15 The kind of race I relish , a good grade sprint on a straight track and I have a grea record at thos track in this kind of race,  but I’m a bit at a loss in this . All of Field of Vision, King Crimson , Hay Chewed and Waseem faris will make an easrly bid for glory, but the first two look held off their current marks and Field of Vision has been regressive all season. The other pair could hang on in there and go close as could El Astronaute who ran well last time out when hold up tactics were employed. Humidor runs this C&D very well , but is a bit of a character and despite running very well last time out , he is not assured of repeating that level of form. If he does , he wins. Huntmans Close drops in trip on his first start for Robert Cowell, the kig of the sprinters, but can only be watched as he’s unlikely to be able to go the pace on the fastest five furlongs in the world !

¼ pt win Humidor @ 7/2

3.50 With the defection of the short opriced fav Fire Fighting, I really like the look of the very likeable Beach Bar, he is a bold and able front runner who acts on the track and also stays this far. Maverick Wave is the highest rated but this is a rare run on turf for this all weather specialist while last year’s winner What about Carlo needs softer ground .

1pt win Beach Bar @ 5/1

4.20 Not  arace to get stuck into that hard as it’s for amateur riders but there are  a couple of interesting jockey bookimgs , none more so than top Irish amateur Jamie Codd who rides the hard ton win HUbertas, and Jamie is more of a jumps jockey. Top amateur Simon Walker partners the capable C&D winner Eton Rambler who must have claims, but the nod gos to the well handicapped Whinging willie, who handles this kind of C&D, but the jockey is not that experienced.

¼ pt ew whinging Willie @ 7/1

4.55 Daisy Boy and Croquembouche are both likeable front  runners who are sure to blast away, but they are both high in the weights and will be comong back to them as the race gets interesting. It’s hard to see Interconnection following up off a big weight rise an don drying ground and this gives yet another opportunity for Sennickian star, who surely has to nail one of these soon off a decling mark.

¼ pt win Sennockian Star @ 7/2

5.25 Lorelina landed the double over C&D last week just touching off Crowning Glory and the rest of the field were at least 7 lengths behind. They do look a pair of improvers and despite both receiving sizeable penalties, they still look ahead of this field and it looks a great fc.

½ pt rev F/c Crowing Glory- Lorelina

Ripon – probabaly good ground on this undulating an dquite quick track

2.10 It wasn;t long ago that Chevalier Du Lac was competitng very well against some decent types , then he was dropped into  a seller, and looked very easy money at even money and flopped terribly. He’s been given a two month break and this is so weak he can be risked at decent odds.

¾ pt win Chevalier Du Lac @ 5/2

2.45 The shirt priced fav is Shufooq , but he only has an average chance in a vefry open race with all of Angel Grace, Carnegeo and Causey SArch holding decent claims. Airton ran well in hs last few runs and had Ronnie Baird behind last time, but I expect better from the latter today back on turf and also on a lower mark. Tiga Tuan is another who can be expected to be on the premises.

¼ pt ew Ronnie Baird @ 20/1

3.20 A good quality Class 2 handicap but not that many come here with strong claims. Hime Cummins certainly does as he ran very well in a hot race at glorious Goodwood and is only  apound higher and has the best of the draw, Treasury notes is on eof the most improved handicappers around , but he now has a very high rating and the last race he won was quite winnable. An easy lead is up for grabs here an dthat should go the tough and consistent Father Bertie whn runs this C&D well and also has ideal  ground conditions. Rousayen doesn’t know how to run a bad race but has been most unlucky in the draw.

¾ pt ew Father Bertie @ 8/1

3.55 A listed race for juveniles and it looks mighty open with Kodiline and Mailshot worthily heading the market, but you couldn’t rule out A,licante dawn who has won nis last two very well and looks a huge improver. I’m with the irish raider in Grand Coalition , whose form is good enough to be bang there and they haven’t; come here for  aday out.

¼ pt win Grand Coalition @ 6/1

4.30 The usually very realiable Bossipop looked a bit unwilling last time at Chester , it took some time to load him and he came out very slowly , usually he always runs well and behaves very well. Let’s hope that was just a one off as he returns to his best C&D , with a great draw and dropping in grade against beatable rivals and his last run here would see him winning this with ease.

¾ pt win Bossipop @ 7/2

5.35 A finale for amateur riders and it’s pretty weak with both the inform  pair of Thiello and easy Mac up in the weigthts and in trip while Master Marcasite has never been one for the kids’ dinner money. Fillydelphia has the best recent form at this trip and this track is fine.. Just a bit worried about the rider, who has her first ride here.

¾ pt win Fillydelphia @ 4/1

Selected Cartmel- good to soft on this flat and very sharp track

3.30 The drop in trip is no use for the inform pair of Ballycool and safari Journey while the down in class Supreme Vista could be coming here in better form. With pakenhem hard to win with and endeavour a lot higher in the weights for his easy win over C&D two starts back, I’m taking a chance with Sleep In First, who ran poorly last time but has the form to win this and he also runs well here.

¼ pt win Sleep in First @ 10/1

4.05 Pair o jacks looked really good when winning over c&D last time on similar ground from Alderbrook lad and Presented and despite a rise in the weights, he looks well capable of more. Silver man would have been a huge threat if it wasn’t for the soft ground.

¾ pt win Pair of jacks @ 3/1

4.45 The dark horse in this is the ex- French youngster Dauhine Ereine who has won her last 3 and has her first run for the top stable of David Pipe and is practically impossible to assess, but they haven’t come all this way for nothing . Wadswick Coiurt ran well last time from the front and this track should suit so he’s on the short list but I’m with Amuse me, who has had a light time of it of late and will be regaining full fitness very soon. Hi stable always does well here an dis back among the winners and the booking if Dicky Johnson takes the eye.

½ pt ewAmuse Me @ 10/1

5.10 Golden Jess has a terrific record here but he is so hard to predict of late , and could run a blinder or be tailed off from the start. Dubh Eile held off Young Dillon last time and that form is good enough for both if them to be contenders. The revitalised Bourne is unlikely to take this up in the weights and grade while the jury is still out whether the talented Ennistwon stays this far, Rolling maul just stays and stays and has run well here before and this race is a slight drop in grade.

¼ pt ew Rolling Maul @ 8/1

5.45 A couple of in form irish raiders here and whule Burnt Sienna did well coming from so far back to claim second here last time, he was still beaten a long way while Lily white gesture has a big penalty for success in a Sedgefield marathon last time , and the drop in trio round here is a big negative. Silver Shuffle has decent form here and comes here on the back of  agood run on the flat. Looks most solid ew.

½ pt ew Silver Shuffle @ 8/1

Selected Downpatrick – good ground on this undulating and sharp track

3.35 Auroras dream was a 20/1 winner for my Premium tiop members over C&D two starts back and this likeable mare ran with crdit under her penalty next time. When she won she had Maignealta just behind and with that one now having a decent pull in the weights, it looks very much like this air will again fight out the finish.

1/2pt rev F/c Maigneata – Auroras Dream

4.10 Rendezvius peak has had few chances of late and this looks a great opportunity as most of his in form rivals are now high in both the weights and also in grade .

¾ pt win Rendezvous peak @ 7/2

5.50  It’s ahighly winnable handicap and the consistent Houe Limit has yet another chance to convert his many placed efforts into a win on a track he runs very well.

½ pt ew House Limits @ 7/1
