Ripon – good ground on this undulating , galloping and quite quick track
1.45 PREMIUM RACE
2.15 First Bombardemt got bogged down in the mud at Mussleburgh last time but prior to that was an excellent 2nd in the Brockelsby which represents much stronger form than Risk Adjusted, the only other one in the field with any worthwhile form. Most of his rivals are newcomers, but despite a few of them coming from big stables, they didn’t cost much and I’ll be surprised if the tip can’t put his experience to very good use.
1.25 pts win First Bombardment @ 15/8
2.50 King Torus hasn;t been win the massively in form David O’ Meara very long and has a very decent chance in this , but quotes of 6/4 are q bit ridiculous in this competitive handicap. Trail Blaze likes to do just that and has a good record at this track but with other front runners in the field it makes his task that much harder. Veteran Dubai Dynamo is still running as a good level and lies it here. The strong pace is ideal for this strong finisher and he wont be far away.
½ pt ew Dubai Dynamo @ 10/1
3.25 A cracking Class 2 sprint handicap with pace all over the track so the draw shouldn’t be a concern , but of late at this track , in big fields, the low numbers have had the call and that is where I am concentrating. AnotherWise Kid doesn’t know how to run a bad race and goes well fresh. He has a good draw and is certainly overpriced for his ability and chance. The likes of Pipers Note, Tatlitsu and Duke Cosimo always run well but all are high enough in the weights and have middle draws, which is farfrom ideal. Flyman lost his form last season but is very well weighted on his best form and has recently joined david O’Meara who has made a cracking start with new inmates this season.
½ pt ew Another Wise Kid @ 25/1
4.00 A Class 2 handciap and some very smart performers compete . Angel Gabriel and Sueioo fought out last year’s Chester Cup and they are both likely to be usung this as a pipe opener over a trip far short of their best. Clever Cookie was highly progressive last season but is another who would welcome a few more furlongs. Topweight Pinzolo was thought good enough by Godolphin to take his chance in the EpsomDerby, where I gave him a chance but it just didn’t happen. He is certainly high in the wights but does give the impression that he has a lot more to offer and this is very winnable.
1pt win Pinzolo @ 5/2
4.35 Decorated Knight’s form is way ahead of his rivals but he hasn;t been seen since his debut 7 months ago and the Varian stable is hardly firing. Quite a few of his rivals are lightly raced well bred types from big stables and I wouldn’t be going in on the fav @ 1/3.
5.10 Flicka Boy did it very well at Nottingham last week but this is tougher. Ritas Boy did well to chase home the progressive Waasy bit that was on soft ground and he’s been bunged up the weights quite a bit. Elusive Epona is 1 from 1 but that run was almost a year ago , but you have to worry about his wellbeing. Beau Eile ran well in all 3 starts last season and is very fairly weighted on his seasonal debut and could just about do it.
¼ pt win Beau Eile @ 7/2
Haydock – good to firm ground on this flat and galloping track
1.50 A tough opener with Chorus of Lies and The Lampo Genie having the best form but Chorus of Lies has achived this on the all weather and The Lampo Genie does have stamina doubts at this journey. Newcomer Barefoot Dancer has a Derby entry so must be ok . A couple from the Einter scene take their chances here. Awaywiththegreays is a tough 3 mile hurdler, bit all of his best form is in the mud at Chepstow ,so he doesn’t have conditions to suit. One Ore Go has been going very well in good ground bumpers and could be a bit too savvy for the 3yos .
¼ pt ew One More Go @ 7/1
2.20 A very competitive handicap but with the distinct lack of early pace I’m with front running Capo Rosso. He’s been busy on the all weather but is capable on truf and does run this C&D very well, He’s well drawn to attack fro the start and wont be too hard pressed to maintain the advantage. The stable and jocey have a great record here and he has great make up.Lesha catched the ye a bit , ut does have a bad draw to overcome while Yourartisonfire warrants consideration despite going up quite a bit in the weights.
½ pt ew Capo Rosso @ 20/1
2.55 A tricky maiden as they haven’t had a great deal of racing except for Persun, who is buy far the most experienced and ran to a good level last season and was unlucky not to win at least once. This longer trip should be no problem and he’s way overpriced to make his experience count. All of is rivals though are lightly raced and are dabngerous.
½ pt ew Persun @ 8/1
3.30 Quite a tough handicap made even tougher by the fact that the neswith the best chances are poorly drawn. One of these Is Rene Mathis who was massively progressive last season and looks the type to progress out of handicaps this season for a very in form stable.Cordite is a top notch handicapper , who is well drawn and a usual will give his best.
½ pt ew Rene Mathis @ 11/1
4.05 This wint take much winnin g and it gives Volunteer Point a great chance. Successful on her debut, which is always a good sign, she ran very well in a fast ground handicap at Windsor, and was most unlucky not getting any kind of run. With usual luck this race offers serious compensation. Spryt ran well in a competitive handicap last time but has been pushed up a lot in the weights while the rest make little appeal.
¾ pt win Volunteer Point @ 5/2
4.40 Berrharri and Gabriel the Thug come here on the back of highly successful seasons on the all weather, but their turf form is not as good and this gives a great chance to Advance, who is vey consistent and last time suggested that this longer trip will certainly suit.
¾ pt ew Advance @ 7/1
5.15 Barren Brook is getting no younger but is still running well enough to claim one of these off his current handicap mark. The quick ground will suit him a lot more than market leaders Memory Cloth and Final Countdown and this could be his day.
½ pt ew Barren Brook @ 10/1
Leicester- good to firm ground on this stiff track
1.55 Rogues gallery has the experience but his form doesn’t look anything special. There has been a flood of money for newcomer Soapy Aitken form the good stable of Clve Cox, and that looks significant, but he is even money !
2.30 Clubland bounced back to for ast time out with a clear win and could repeat the dose in this winnable handicap where many of these have pros and cons. I’m having a small play on the well handicapped and capable Crew Cut.
¼ pt ew Crew Cut @ 7/1
3.05 A similar sprit handicap to the last and I’m with front running Ace Master, whose small stable is in excellent form and he could take some pegging back.
¼ pt ew Ace Master @ 7/1
3.40 A small field 3yo handicap and they a re all lightly raced and open to improvement , especially at this trip. Ed Walker’s stable is in top form and the way Dark Wave won last time suggested that he is ahead of the handicapper.
¾ pt win Dark Wave @ 5/2
4.15 Aljamaaher is way ahead of these at the weights , but it’s some time since he has won and the stable isn’t going that well. He has a number of uncompromising tough types in contention and despite having a preference for softer ground. Penitent could tough this out from the front. Coulsty is another admirable performer who has big shout
¼ pt ew Penitent @ 12/1
4.45 Nothing really sticks out in this big field 3yo handicap and to make it even more puzzling quite a few have either had the snip of have joined new stables . PERSAX Boy ran his best race last season forst timeout and this could the right time to catch him.
¼ pt ew Pensax Boy @ 14/1
5.20 This looks good for Storm of the Seas after his good run in quite a oit Newmarket maiden. He stayed the trip well that day and a more prominent ride can see him shedding that maiden tag.
1pt win Storm of the Seas@ 5/4
5.50 Eve JohsnonHoughton has her stri g in very good form and with Pink Diamond coming to hand early Last season , looks the one to be on in a winnable handicap.
¼ pt win Pink Diamond @ 4/1
Sandown – good ground on this stiff track
2.00 A juvenile handicap hurdle and quite tough as many of these have been running on Winter gound and could easily improve for the better ground. Sebastian Beach is oneof these but I’m with Unanimite who has had a light season and should be suited by the C&D. Paul Nichlols has great record with hs=is runners first time in a handicap so that makes topweight Old Guard of interest as he was thought good enough to run in The Triumph Hurdle. Alzammaar looks sure to be inconveninecd both by the shorter trip and the rise in the weights.
¼ pt ew Unanimite @ 15/2
2.35 The two top rated are Al Ferof and Menorah but I’m looking elsewhere. Menorah should have done far beter last time but at least it’s a drop in class while Al ferof is lightly raced nowadays and had a hard race at Aintree. Rolling Ages is a very capable sort who Has miised the Winter as he loves this kind of ground. He will be fresher than most and has to have a good shout. Two if these have crossed the Irish Sea for this, which is always significant but both Argocat and Home Fram would prefer softer ground.
½ pt ew Rolling Aces @ 12/1
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.50 The Bet365 Chase and a massive field and they go 10/1 the field with so many with a chance. I’m with Irelans here. Guess Again was going really well at Cheltenahm only to fall, Today is only hisb 2nd run for Tony Marti and he has been kept fresh for this valuable prize. Grand Jesture Has developed into a more than useful performer and it wont be the first time this season that Ireland have plundered a handicap 1-2 in a British Handicap.
¾ pt ew Guess Again @ 16/1 ¼ pt Rev F/c Guess Again- Grand Jesture
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
5.00 A very tough handicap chase and I’m with the well handicapped Cocktails at Sawn who will love the ground and Has had a very light season
¼ pt ew Cocktais At Dawn @ 8/1
5.35 A tough finale and at the weights it looks very good for Polly Peachum , but she should have done better at Cheltenham and she is not running to her level. Bayan flopped in a handicap on the flat last time and perhaps his run o heavy ground in the French Champion Hurdle has left its scar. Aqalim is a very tough and talented performer who would prefer a longer trip, but he will be finishing and is rarely far away.
¼ pt ew Aqalim @ 9/2
Doncaster – good to firm ground on this flat, galloping and quite quick track
4.55 All of Starletina , Light and Shade and Maybelater are 1 from 1 and all did their winning on the all weather while both Zamoura and Mis Minuty also bring recent all weather winning form to the table. With none of these having been anywhere near fast turf, it’s a lottery.
5.30 Secatuer is ¼ to get his first win but it may not be that easy with useful staying hurdler Balmusette in the field. She understandably couldn;t get competitive in a ile race but this longer trip and small field could enable her to get the lead and stay there on ground she likes.
¼ pt win Balmuette @ 9/2
6.00 A handicap for amateur lady jockeys ! Recent winners Intisaab and Jubille Brig are both up in the weights but more importantly up in trip. In this ind of race you have to look for the value if having a bet and I’m with the well weighted Celtic Sixpence, who came to hand eary last year and has conditions to suit.
¼ pt win Celtic Sixpence @ 14/1
6.30 There has been a flood of money for Alan McCabe’s expensive newcomer Gorokai, and that looks significant , but he’s only 6/4 on his debut !
7.00 Another very open 3yo handicap full of winners who have had precious little experience on quick turf. Maftun won on the all weather very well last time but has form on turf while recent all weather winners Symbolic Star, Alfajer and Sarsted all have to be considered along with Grand Spirit, who just gets the nod as he already has decent form on this kind of ground. Both Darshini and Dartington are likely to need a bit further to bring out the best of them.
¼ pt win Grand Spirit @ 4/1
7.30 They wont ne hanging around here with Master of Finance and Made with Love in the field, but the former needs soft ground and the latter an unlikely stayer. Tactcus ‘ purple patch coincided with his runs on the fibresand and back on turf has a mountain to climb on these terms. Razor Wind looks held at the weights but wont be faraway if he adapts to quick turf. Ajman Bridge was in the grip of the handicapper last season but was rarely far away. He’s had the snip so that may improve things but I give the nod to Warrior of Light, who is jot one for the kids’ dinner money , but could be something really special and the snip may help him settle a lot more.
¼ pt win Warrior of Light @ 8/1
8.00 True Pleasure is on a hat-trcik and looks very good to get it.She hasn;t been pushed up very much for a convincing win last time when she came from the back in a steadily run race and had and recent winner well held . She is most versatile tactically and all tracks and ground come alike to her. Pretty big price in a highly winnable race
1.25 pts win True Pleasure @ 5/2
Wolverhampton- all weather- tapeta
6.15 An apprentices handicap . Archie Stevens almost pulled off a huge soick last time out and with his unreliable profile and a rise in the weights can be taken on as can Trending, who is massively up in the weights. For Ayman has never raced on Tapeta and ran very poorly last time while Logans Lad is also high in the weights for his record at this trip. This leaves us with verus delicia, who flopped last time but her form prior to that gives her every chance in this winnable race at big odds.
½ pt win Verus Delicia @ 10/1
6.45 Renewing is the new kid on the block in low grade middle distance races aroju d here and very much looks the type to improve for this longer trip. Both Medieval Bishop and Black Iceman are regulars here and often run well while Santayana and Chloes Image are others to consider.
¼ pt ew Renewing @ 7/2
7.15 Bold front runner Red Baron did it very well on his first run onTapeta and despite a 5 pound rise looks good for the double. His rivals are either high in the weights or better on polyrack or turf.
1pt win Red Baron @ 5/2
7.45 The form figures of Rembrabdt Van Rijn say a lot about this talented yet totally untrustworthy customer. He would do his best to lose in a walk over!He has been gelded which has to help things as he is aright handful. He was clear here a few runs ago when he decided to go violently across the track and lose his jockey and last time out looked decidedly uncompliant. He is full of ability and if the op has done the trick he could go on to run in hit races, but he’s not one to bang on , especially at the odds on tonight.
8.15 Both Canon Law and Qasser were impressive winners over C&Dlast tme but the handicapper has had his say. Lean On Pete is competively handicapped and goes well over C&D and looks very solid ew. Sequestor has more improvement in her and could improve for the switch of surface.
½ pt ew Lean On Pete @ 7/1
8.45 All of the in form trio of Rafaaf, Watreloo Dock and Admirable Art fins this longer trip a roght old struggle. This raceis for the taking and I’m with the wll drawn and well weighted Lok Herews Al and the booking of no nonsense jockey Martin Dwyer looks a smart idea. Olney Lass is never far away but is a rare winner.
½ pt ew Look Here’s Al @ 14/1
9.15 It’s not even a £3000 maiden and we have odds on fav Alkwan who cost £250,000 and the likes of Dark Light, Sweet Dancer and Tresury Notes who all cost £50,000 each and a Stoute newcomer.!
Nice race to watch
