Hamilton – good to soft ground – but it is drying and could go good, on this stiff track
2.10 A lot of these are stepping up in trip and that could well cause the problems. Saltarello , who is up in the weights, and wont want the ground to dry and Star Cracker, who is lightly raced and could be improving , are the short priced joint favs. Of the two Star Cracker is the more interesting , but has stamina to prove on this stiff track.Anastazia has decent form at this trip on stiff tcaks and has come a long way for this and has a big chance but I’m having a play on one of the outsiders. Atreus has showed enough to suggest that he could be a force off this mark and the switch to a stiff track could make a positive difference.
¼ pt ew Atreus @ 16/1
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.15 Quest of Colour did it well last time and is only having her 5th ever race today today, so could easily improve and defy the handicapper. However today’s track is much different fro her improved win at Redcar. NOtts So Blue is up a lot in the weights for stealing a race from the front last time out and will have a tougher task .I’m with Shiftin Bobbins . She’s having only here 3rd race since leaving her Irish stable for Michael Dods and has certainly showed enough to win off this mark. Her 4th over C&D off a slightly higher mark gives her a great chance and she did well last time even though the soft ground was against her. She is tactically versatile and has to be in the first 3. Irish raider El Led Jed is dropping down in trip but the fact that he’s come all this way is significant.
3/4 pt ew Shiftin Bobbins @ 5/1
3.50 Legal Waves is desperately difficult to win with and I can’t see the drop in trip being any use to him today. Potent Embrace is another one which is hard to win with , but she does have a very good attitude and has just bumped into better treated rivals. She is well drawn to attack from the front and this could be here day. I’ve backed her a few times and she does deserve a win for a lot of valiant efforts. The dark horse is most certainly Never Up. This ex-French trained has his forst run for top stable of Dabid O’Meara and he has also recently had the snip. He’s only ra the once and that was a good run so he looks more of a threat. I’m sticking with Potent Embrace to go all the way on a track she runs well. The drier the ground the better.
¾ pt win Potent Embrace @ 11/4
4.25 This is absolutely wide open with Clear Spell, Roanld Gee and Nakeeta all having strong chances. The likes of Rockawango and Roc De prince are also capable off their handicap marks. El Bravo is a bit high in the weights m but has a decent make up and is worth a small play at long odds.
¼ pt ew El Bravo @ 20/1
5.00 The Hamilton Sprint Final and a big field of consistent handicappers. I’m with Baron Run. He is the only front runner and he runs this track very well. All of his 3 wins have been gained here and he is a tough one to pass. The drying ground will be in his favour and I’m on for an all the way win. Lay’a's Hero is now too high in the weights and the biggest danger is the improved Gran Canaria Queen, who is well drawn.
1pt win Baron Run @ 8/1
5.30 A sprint handicap for amateur jockeys. Rise to Glory won forst time back from a break at Wolver recently. He did very well to lead that one all the way from an adverse draw. He has a chance of replicating that today under one of the better jockeys in the field. Shillito also likes to be handy and is well drawn to be a threat and the F/c pick.
3/4pt win Rise To Glory @ 7/1
Carlisle – good to firm ground on this stiff track
2.00 Chookie’s Lasswon a 3 runner race last time over C&d, but it was bit of a tactical affair and makes no appeal so much higher in the weights. Shades Of Silk is better on fibresand while Madagscasr Moll and Slick Indian are better at shorter trips while Soul Instinct is not threatening to win at all at the moment. This leaves us with Emily davison, who caused a right old shock in Ripon claimer winning at 66/1 and beating some decent types in the process. She has since gone on to win again , but of late has looked held by the handicapper. However she has brilliant chance today with doubts abut her rivals. A further plus is that she is partnered by her regular rider Gemma Tufty in this apprentices handicap.
1.25 pts win Emily davison @ 13/2
2.30 Midlander has the best form and comes here on the back of a great run at Ripo in a nursery, but he flattened out that day in the closing stages so this tougher track may not help at all.he moght get away with it but all of Bamboccianti, Dark Wonderand Doppler Effect are well bred and could improve for his C&D.
3.05 Former top notch sprinter is a shadow of his fomer self and even at today’s favourable weights can’t be considered at even money . He is running nowhere near his rating of 78, he’s more of a 68. That would still be good enough to win but there will be better even money shots in the next few days.
3.40 BIG HIT
Too Smart has a clear edge at the weights and this prominent racer has conditions to suit and can get that elusive first win.
2 pts win Two Smart @ 6/5
4.15 Bowson Fred is on a hat-trick but the handicapper has made it very tough for him today. Both Indescribabale and Clouds rest are also high in the weights while Danot has a lot to do in this company.King Crimson has come a long way for this and beat a 1/3 hotpot fiat and square last time but is badly drawn on the outside of the quintet.
4.50 Another tough small field handicap. Jacob Black Has a big chance back to his favourite C&D and quick ground. He will try to go all the way and could succeed. An Chulainn is a rarity for Mark Johnston, a runner who doesn’t want to stick her headin front on the line, as her form figures testify. Party Royal has a chance on his great run here recently but has recently left Mark Johnston for Ruth Carr, whose stable are in the doldrums a bit . I’m with Alquimia , who remains well weighted and could just come out on top.Corregiio is unlikely to appreciate the quick ground and the shorter trip.
¼ pt win Alquimia @ 11/4
5.20 Another very tough handicap to conclude the card. Taxiformissbyron will struggle at this trip while Harrisons Cove needs softer ground, the other 6 all merit consideration . I’m with Mitcd, who is well handicapped and the longer trip may just bring about the necessary improvement.
¼ pt ew Mitcd @ 10/1
Goodwood- good to soft ground, but id drying, on this undulating and quick track
2.20 Very hard to balance the form of the market leaders Carteier and Mystic jade, and it looks a toss up, but John Gosden saddles newcomer Timba, but his record with 2yos here is not great.
2.55 Soviet Courage has yet to win and last time out relished the very heavy ground to run a strong race at Newmarket. He wont have anything like that today on this very different track. He’s 4/6 to win this, and could do it, but there are safer odds on shots in the next few days.
3.30 A very tough nursery .Flsh Fire will try to make all and could take some pegging back off a fair handicap mark. Johnny Be Goods is going well but looks a few pounds too high. Sunset sail had George Bowen just behind in a big handicap here recently. Neither has trouble free runs but Sunset Sail did show a good cruising speed and looks well enough handicapped for this.
½ pt win Sunset Sail @ 4/1
4.05 Step to the Shears isn’t a bad type but has his work cut off giving weight away to three very nice 2yos , who form is very hard to balance .
4.40 Dolphin Village is a huge improver but is going up in trip by half a mile. However he’s come a long way for this so Richard Fahey must fancy he’ll stay.I have my doubts and I rule him out. Spice fair is on a right od roll but is now very high in the weights. I’m with the classy Statuatory. He’s almost to god for handicaps , but not quite and has a huge chance in this one . He doesn’t mind cutting out the running or being handy. The track wont be a problem and he looks very good to gain an overdue win. Kashgar runs this track well and can stay on for the F/c spot .
1.25 pts win Statutory @5/2
5.10 There’s going to be a lot of pace in this. Besides confirmed front runner Inciting Incident , the likes iof the dropping in trip pair of Brave echo and Harwoods Volante will make their plays early on. Secret Hint was fancied in a handicap here over a little further and didn’t shape badly . She has been dropped quite a it in the handicap and has major claims in this . I’m going for Lucky Di, who is only fairly handicapped but does run this tricky track very well.
½ pt ew Lucky Di @ 7/1
5.40 PREMIUM RACE
Kempton- all weather- polytrack
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
6.20 Magic Florence is a pacy type who hasn’t been disgraced at all in the face of two very tough tasks of late amd this handicap mark is certainly within her abilities. Arlecchinos Leap benefitted from a change of tactics last time and similar hold up style sees this well drawn runner with F/c possibilities. Presto Boy is dropping in trip and from a bad draw, looks one to take on .
¾ pt ew Magic Florence @ 6/1
6.50 Jimmys Girl showed great pace when winning at Lingfield , but was tiring late on .This track with it’s longer straight could see her vulnerable and the well weighted Diminutive could get her revenge.
¼ pt win Diminutive @ 11/2
7.20 This looks an absolute toss up between joint favs Swordbearer and Hoilday magic and it could well be decided on the nod.
7.50 Youngster Ragged Robin goes for the four timer and despite a further hike in the weights looks the one to beat. The Ginger Berry runs this track well and is a decent ew alternative.
1/4pt ew the Ginger Berry @ 10/1
8.20 Crazy Chic won at the first time of asking in a decent maiden at Doncaster and goes handicapping on polytack on a fair mark.We haven’t seen Gone With The Wind for some time, but he gave the impression that there was more to come.Desert Strike also returns from a break and doesn’t have a good record fresh and can se this one cutting out the running before packing in around the furlong pole. Veteran Light From Mars has done us a few favours this season and is well drawn to get a prominant pitch. He’s been ridden more prominantly of late and that is paying dividends. He has struck up a good partnership with decent apprentice Mikey Ennis and this resolute veteran will give it a real go.Major jack is lightly raced and is also one to consider.
¾ pt ew Light From Mars @ 10/1
8.50 Merotocracy runs this C&d really well but is still a bit high in the weights. He does have a great make up here and despite being drawn wide, can get the lead he needs and register an overdue and deserved win.Taquka has a good make up as he likes to chase a strong pace, but the jockey is highly inexperienced, which is a pity as he looks like he has a winning chance.
¾ pt win Merotcracy @ 3/1
9.20 Venus Marina is the fav but is not for me at all. She won a very weak handicap last time and is a lot higher in the weights in this competitive handicap.Quite a few here with chances and I like the Sylvester Kirk pair of Inis Airc and Aristocratic Duty with slight preference for the latter.
¼ pt ew Aristocratic Duty @ 16/1
