1.25 Despite the overnight rain, the ground is still not soft enough for either Easy Tiger and Use Your Filbert. Miracle NInetynine is hard to win with the the drop in trip cannot help. Crackshot won well on quick ground at Newbury and has a great chance of another victory in this winnable handicap.
¾ pt win Crack Shot @ 10/1
2.00 Stepper Point is the only front runner and despite struggling this season could pinch this from the front, but I’m still looking elsewhere. Waady is 3 from 3 over this stiff C&D and is very well drawn for the 4 timer and has the form to support this. He is though a very short priced fav.I’m with Katawi who was a surprise but authorative winner of a decent races at Ayr. She traded much higher on the exchanges as she was some ay off the pace, but willingly weaved herway thorugh the decent field of fillies to win going away. She has had very few tries at this trip ion quick ground and is certainly well worth an interest at long odds, especially on the rating she has only about a length to find on Waady.
½ pt ew Katawi @ 16/1
2.35 Two bold front runners in Ifwecan and Jacob Black are well drawn to take these along and a strong pace is guaranteed. This will really held the fav Basem , who is well drawn to utilise his strong finish. He’s 5 pounds higher for his last win over C&d but hasn;t had much racing and his stable si the one to follow in handicaps in Summer months Sahaffy was fancied at Ascot but in the end was well beaten and despite his good draw, could find this too tough. Master Carpenter and Halation are others with decent claims.
¾ pt win Basem @ 9/2
3.10 PREMIUM RACE
3.45 The Eclipse Stakes
Unbeaten Derby winner Golden Horn goes for the 5 timer and is of course the one to beat , but there have been more obvious 1/3 shots . The problem with this event today is that none of the five race from the front and it could well be a crawl, and it’s unlikely that anything will go for glory as the stronger the pace, the stronger the chance of the Champion. All the trainers and jockeys will be aware of this and the most likely candidate to take them along , somewhat leisurely is the very wonderful The Grey Gatsby, who only has a few lengths to find with Golden Horn and could very well get the run of the race.
¾ pt ew The Grey Gatsby @ 9/2
4.20 Havana Beat won this last year and is comfortably the highest rated here. He’s been in good form for some time and ran a cracker in the Ascot Gold Cup until his stamina gave way in the closing stages. Back to his nest trip he’ll take some beating, assuming that the Ascot race hasn’t left its mark.
1pt win Havan Beat @ 9/4
4.55 Chain Of Daisies stepped up on previous form with an easy all the way win in an apprentices race at Goodwood. She is unexposed but is a lot higher in the weights, on quicker ground and on a stiffer track !Pacify ran really well here last time giving the definite impression that this longer trip will certainly suit. Peace Prize did it really well at Newmarket last time out , but the handicapper has ben pretty severe.
¾ pt win Pacify @ 3/1
Haydock – good to soft ground on this flat and galloping track
1.45 The short priced fav is Hakka , whi has only ever raced on the all weather and at a shorter trip. On pedigree this longertrip is far from sure to suit. JUmeirah Glory was well backed to win last time over C&D and despite a 10 pound hike in the weights , has to be respected as the one he beat has gone on since to win with ease from a much higher mark. Cymro’s best ever run came on soft ground but both Subcontinent and Jupiter Costos have it do on this surface. Topweight is Lord Ben Stack who has spent the season chasing shadows in high class events. Worth a small play in his first ever handicap.
¼ pt win Lord Ben Stack @8/1
2.15 This time last year Lady Tiana was winning handicaps off marks in the low 70s and today she is favourite for this excellent fillies Group 2 , and she deserves her place in the market. She has progressed into a Group performer, as many fillies do as they mature. She has a few lengths to find on another wondermare in Miss Marjurie, but this will be the latter’s frst ever run on soft ground. Criteria wasn;t far behind in that race and is another who has to be considered along with Jordan Princess, but I gove the nod to Lady Tiana who will have here favourite ground.
½ pt win Lady Tiana @ 10/3
2.50 We haven’t seen the progressive Battersea for 9 months and he does have a bit to prove off his handicap mark and on softer ground. Penhill was well held last time and despite being fancied, is more hype than substance. I’m with Notarises , who has really come on this year and has a great record on soft ground. He’s a prominent racer, as is his very gallant stable companion in Watersmeet, who has yet to race o soft ground, but if he acts , ha to go close.Elbereth is better at a shorter trip but recent winner Kinema and Apteriz demand much respect.

4.00 He’s not one for the kid’s dinner money, but it will be disappointing for connections if Intibah can’t get back on the winning trail with conditions being ideal and also as there is a strong suspicion that Musical Comedy is better at a shorter trip nowadays.
½ pt win Intibah @ 2/1
4.35 RedHarry hardly impressed on his reappearance win beating a modest rival , but the softerground will help, but it was quite a late start to his 3yo career. Sydney Riffdiamond is better at shorter while New Stretegy better at longer ! . He’s been struggling a bit of late with his handicap mark, but today’s softer ground gives Royal Connoisseur a great ew chance.
½ pt ew Royal Connoisseur @ 7/1
5.10 They wont ne hanging aroun din the finale with 3 front runners all we ll drawn. Enlace has done really well of late, but wont have the run of the race today and the softer ground is also way against her. Alejandro is not at his best on soft ground so I’m with the well handicapped Chosen Character. He’s going to kick on with the other two and at this trip it’s in his interest to go as hard as possible. He loves this track and soft ground and I can’t see anything coming from the back in this unless the front runners vie too hard .
1/2 pt ew Chosen Character @ 16/1
Beverley – good ground on this stiff track
1.50 Poplar Close has the form in the book but Mistymistymorning could leave her form way behind at this longer trip. Not for me at the odds .
2.25 This should be very easy for Koothrappali with his superior level of form and from a great draw.
1.25 pts win Koothrappali @ 5/4
3.00 PREMIUM RACE
3.35 I’ve tipped up and backed Atlantic Affair many times and vowed never again, but she keeps finding herself in winnable races , and this just about gives her best chance of the year. She could well lead this all the way at a track where she achieved her only ever win.
¾ pt win Atlantic Affair @ 4/1
4.10 What Usian is on a 4 timer , but bis hat-trcik was achieved on the all weather and his turf form is just the opposite, four unplaced runs, so he has a bit to prove today.Snappy Guest is keeping his form well and has to have a decent chance but despite a less than ideal draw, I’m with Dark Wonder, who should fins this C&D ideal. He likes to lead and should have the opportunity in this winnable event.
½ pt ew Dark Wonder @ 10/1
4.45 Krafty One is the short priced fav going up in trip and while she has a chance, so do a few others. Misslandei did really well on her first race on turf over C&d in a decent enough race, Despite a rise in the weights can’t be faraway. This stiffer track could well help Casila .
½ pt ew Missandei @ 8/1
5.20 Very few of these race at the minimum trip and with clear form horse Grand Beauty being off for a year, it’s an easy race to swerve
Leicester- good to soft on this stiff track
2.05 There’ll be plenty of pace on here with Meanmyshadow , who is now high in the weights, Goadby Princess, who is better at a shorter trip and Goadby, who disappointed last time out on quick ground , but she was 2nd in this last year and will appreciate the softer ground. She gets out and battles all the way.
¾ pt ew Goadby @ 9/1
2.40 You’d be a bit mad having a serious bet in this 4 runner 2yo seller.
NO BET !
3.15 The handicapper has been very fair with Intimation’s opening handicap mark and could well go in , but is only 5/4 . MIkandy knows how to win and is on a 4 timer, but this front runner, could well struggle with both the ground and this stiff C&D , as could Deep Blue Sea. Despite being high in the weights, Sectet Lightning has her favourite ground and has hinted that there is more to come at this longer trip.
½ pt ew Secret Lightning @ 16/1
3.50 Assault on Rome disappointed last tim e out at Hamilton, but back t her favourite C&D and ground, she doesn’t have a great deal to beat to get back on the winning trail.
¾ pt win Assault on Rome @ 9/2
4.25 A most unappealing race where very few have raced on soft ground .
5.00 There’ll be plenty of pace on here with all of Hickster, Venutius and Rough Courte, who all head the market, setting the pace. All three of these carry negatives of sort and I’m with the youngster Liberty Sky, who has been eased quite a bit in the handicap.
½ pt ew Liberty Sky @ 6/1
5.35 Candlelight is certainly a bit high in the weights, but will like the ground and doesn;t have much to beat.
½ pt win Candlelight @ 9/4
Bellewstown – good to firm on this flat and sharp track
4.50 Should be no bither for Marchese Marconi, but he’s 1/3 !
5.25 Despoite the big field very few of these are running well enough at thos trip and ground to be considered. Gold Class is certainly a bit high in the weights , but the claim of useful conditional Jack Kenneddy will help and he looks an ew bet for nothing.
¾ pt ew Gold Class @ 4/1
5.55 On this ground, Santo Prince gets the nod over Mr Steadfast and Trainstation
1/2 pt win Santo prince
6.25 Most of these would prefer a bit of juice in the ground and one of the exceptions is speedy grey Erklonig. This tight track wasmade for him and he will take some catching . Orgiglo Bay has been in the doldruns for his last few runs , but will like conditions and the track and is worth in a plat in a speculative F/c
¾ pt win Erklonig @ 10/1 ¼ pt Rev F/c Erklonig – Orgiglio Bay
6.55 Hard to balnce the from of the principals in this novice staying hurdle
7.25 Phangio won pulling a cart for his new stable and despite a hefy whack by the handicapper can go in again. Wandering Aengus is entitled to get closer to him on his first run for some time, but iyt’s Phangio for the hat-trick
¾ pt win Phangio @ 4/1
7.55 Looks very much between the 3 last time out winners, and there’s not much between them on the ratings. Supreme Vinnie looks safe ew .
¼ pt ew Surpreme Vinnie @ 9/2
Carlisle – good ground on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
This should be a match between Indigo Blues and Heroique, but it is a girls apprentice handicap. Heroique is a rare winner, but this could be here night and Rachel Richardson knows her well.
½ pt ew Heroique @ 9/2
6.35 None of these 2yos are showing any quality or consistency and its one to swerve
7.05 Bronze Beau is back in the groove and is running well enough to take this but he could have been drawn better and will have company up front from the speedy I’ll Be Good. Ordinarliy I’d be looking for a finisher, but nothing else is really running well enough. Just have to take the risk.
¾ pt win Bronze Beau @ 9/2
7.35 With Dark Ocean to high in the weights and wanting softer ground, and with Mustbqal and Favourite Treat high in the weights and likely to run each other out of this from the front , it’s between the hold up in form pair of Ginger Jack and Ganbino and I can’t split them
½ pt Rev F/c Gambino _ Ginger Jack
8.05 The highly likeable and progressive Go Dan Go is asked another question by the handicapper , but the drop in trip will probably be to his advantage as the pace is likely to be strong and he won here last time out.
¾ pt win Go Dan Go @ 3/1
8.35 It’s been a while since Save The Bees last won, but he served notice a few runs back that he wasn’t far away and last time put had little chance from a baddraw. Tectonic loves it here, but the overnight rain hasn’t helped him.
½ pt win Save The Bees @ 7/2
9.05 A couple of big stables from down South have representatives in this, and when you consider they wont get in the horsebox until abut 10 o’ clock and then it’s a 300 mile long journey, they must be serious about the chances of both Radhaildh and She is No Lady. I’m with cracking chaser Baileys Concerto to spoil their fun. He is 135 rated at the jumps game, which does equate to about 90 on the flat. It’s doubtful that he is that high, but is certainly worth a play as he could be too savvy for these lightly raced maidens
½ pt ew Baileys Concerto @ 9/1
Nottingham – good ground on this flat and quite quick track
5.45 A handicap for amateur jockeys ! The revitalised Power Play has won his last two , both on the all weather, and if he can translate that to turf , the hat-trick could be his, but it is a long time since he tried this surface. Typhon didn’t run badly at Ponterfract last time out and a return to this flat track is very much in his favour. He dips into Class 6 for the first time , and in an unappealing race is worth a play .
½ pt ew Typhon @ 20/1
6.15 Angel of the night is the even money fav but her good run was 2 months ago on the all weather, so questions to be answered. There are a handful others who could feature and I’m swerving it.
6.45 All The Winds came back to form last time, but it was on the polytrack. This race is so weak he could double up, but at 7/4 , it’s easy to pass and nothing else appeals.
7.15 These 7 are weighted to dead heat and there level of form is so similar there’s nothing that sticks out.
7.45 We’’ll Sake Hands did it well on his first try at this trip and could follow up, but some of his rivals are capable off their marks and I’m swerving again.
8.15 It’s a weak handicap and the much improved Stoneboat Bill can give the weight away. He’s yet to race at this longertip, but does shape like it will suit.
¾ pt win Stoneboat Bill @ 5/2
8.45 This looks good for Raddeh , whose form is very solid , but the bookies agree as she’s 4/6, bit too short for a single
