Hexham – good ground on this undulating and very stiff track
2.00 Another Bill looks to have a facile task and is priced accordingly , but I wouldn’t want to take 1/4 about a runner only having his 5th race in 18 months and also racing on quick ground for the first time. Saying that, the opposition is poor but Cupids Quest has showed quite a bit more than most and the small stable has a good record here.

3.30 The drying ground is against Seventeen Black doubling up a recent win over C&D and it gives the consistent Whatthestoryman a great chance of revenge and a first win. West Ship master rran some great races here last year but has become very inconsistent and on a a going day could well take this while The Ice factor hasa good record here , but is another whose recent form is weak.
¼ pt ew What’s the storyman @ 7/2
4.00 Maz Majecc did very well to win over C&D last time out on similar ground and despite the 4 pound rise in the weights, has found himself in a most winnable contest. Heart of Annable is going well but hasn’t even hit the frame in 6 previous tries here while the rest have plenty to prove on the ground and also at this trip and kind of track.
1.25pts win Maz Majecc @ 5/2
4.30 Quite a few disappointing types here and it’s worth chancing Next height. He was rated much higher when trained by Sue Smith and recently returned to action with a decent enough effort suggesting that this longer trip would suit . Being a long time absentee 2nd race back, he could well bounce , but is worth the risk in this. Both Solway sam and Master Murphy are capable, if the mood grabs them
1/4 pt ew Nexy Hight @ 13/2
5.00 Bescot Springs has a good record here but hasn’t been showing much enthusiasm of late while Darsi dancer wont be favoured at all by the drying gorund and the drop in trip. Stay in My Heart is quite a likeable type but here record suggests otherwise as she is 0 wins form 44 races !! She comes here on the back of another good effort over C&D and if she can’t win this , she probably never will. She is most backable ew , thank God.
1pt ew Stay in My Heart @ 9/2
5.30 An amateur riders handicap to complete the card and I’m with the front running Bygones for Cards. Though only modest she is a tough type and when given the chance can nail it. She comes here on the back of a good run over C&D in a seller, but did well at the weights against superior opposition. Quite often in this kind of race, up front is the place to be and she has one of the better jockeys in the field in the saddle.
¾ pt win Bygones for Coins @ 10/1

3.15 Papa Luigi has had plenty of chances and they try tapeta to finally get his head in front, but with an absence of synthetics performers in his family, can be taken on again. Line Sport is very well related and can be expected to step up on a recent OK debut , but again is hardly bred for this surface. Waneen has good form over C&D and will benefit from the return to here after two Ok runs on soft turf. Newcomer Noble Act has a couple of good winners in her family and should be fine on the surface.
¼ pt ew Waneen @ 7/2
3.45 Only 3 go in this claimer and it really is a roll of the dice. Clumber Street is likely to blast off , but is new to the surface and returns from a over a year off , but interestingly the high profile owner keeps the faith, for now ! Come oin dav eused to be a catch me if you can merchant , but nowadays is ridden more patiently and comes here in good form ., but has a very stiff task at the weights. Long Awaited is very well favoured by the weights and has run some good race here. He hasn’t won for 4 years but deserves the cold shoulder if he can’t win this .
¼ pt win Long Awaited @ 2/1
4.15 The shprt priced fav is Scarpeta but has a lot more to do under a 6 pound penalty on a surface where he’s bombed out in the past. Quite a few of thse are unexposed and have had few runs and may just click over this C&D. I gove the nod to Street Outlaw who has raced here in some very warm maidens and is worth a small play. Frivlous Prince ran his best ever race over C&D, but does need a strong pace to aim at which looks unlikely here. Tupalova is another with claims but Sir Mark Prescott’s Mystique Hights hasn’t showed much so far and looks in need of an even longer trip.
¼ pt ew Street Outlaw @ 12/1
4.45 I jumped ship on Bayan Kasirga about 10 runs agoi and since then she has won 4 times !! She comes here in winning form and has a great record over C&D. She really knows where the winning line is and she is opposed by rivals who find it very tough to nab the win. Ickymasho is a likeable type but is firmly in the grip of the handicapper .
¾ pt win Bayan Kasirga @ 3/1
5.15 Ballard Down ran well in a big field at Ascot when 4th and the 2nd horse ran well yesterday. This is his first try on the surface and the trainer has a modest record here. Dommersen put a modest debut run way behind when successful at Lingfield’s polytrack. He was a very costly purchase and his top trainer does very well here. I give him the nod over Status Quo who has good winning form over C&D, but an 8 months absence is a worry .
½ pt win Dommershen @ 10/3
5.45 Been through this low grade handicap a few times and still can’t get the short list down from 8 of the 13 runners !!
Southwell – good ground on this flat and tight track
5.25 Marky Bob certainly has his quirks, as he’s refused to start in the past and has also had a good long think about it on occasions, but one thing is for certain, once he’s away he runs well , as is the case last time when ridden with more restraint but was only beaten by a totally unexposed one with a decent field for the grade well held. He may well allow Sylvan legend to do the donkey work and he can certainly gain compensation in this beatable field off a mark he has won his last two races off and in grade where in 6 runs he has a win and 4 places !
½ pt ew Marky Bob @ 7/1
5.55 Ciecron stepped up markedly on recent efforts with good 2nd at Sedgefield where he had Ever So Much just behind , and on the revised terms , there will be little between them today. Hit the Headlines has hardly convinced since returning to action and the others make no appeal.
½ pt Rev F/c Ciceron – Ever So Much
6.30 Toviere ran well in a competitive novice hurdle last time at Warwick and on that evidence will be suited by this C&D. Phobiaphilliac is a doubtful stayer as is Royal Plaza whole Rocklander and Kalonra could be taken off their hooves on the quicker ground. It’s interesting that the Dan Skelton stable keeps the faith with Sand Blast , who is obviously hard to keep sound. The tip will be very hard to beat.
1.25pts win Toviere @ 11/4
7.00 It’s a very weak novice hurdle and it’s esy to have reservations about the market leaders as Excellent Team makes his debut over hurdles , but this ex -flat was thought good enough to make Goldolphin take out their cheque book . He raced at a level on the high 70’s which is about 115 over hurdles which would be good enough to take this . Snaija races for very high profile national hint owners and she was good on the flat in France reaching a level of 101. She has not been seen since an ok debut 7 months ok. At the odds, a nice race to watch
7.35 It wasn’t the strongest novice hurdle ever but Celldomfed couln’t have won any easier and this was a huge step forward. His opening mark is not over generous and I’m not keen backing novices against experienced handicappers. Rosetti is a fascinating runner on his first start for top trainer Neil Mulholland as he’s been cleaning up in the Channel islands, which isn’t the strongest of racing , but was a decent flat on the flat and could be the surprise packet. Mr Lando is very consistent and this bold front runner keeps going on when he’s passed and he has a good reccoird over thos track which makes him interesting ew @ 12/1 , but it’s the dark horse for me.
¼ pt ew Rosetti @ 14/1
8.05 The fairly shirt priced fav is Carrigkerry who was most impressive last time on his first start for Jamie Snowdon but this drop in trip could find him out.Being Global on the other hand has staima to prove while the likes of Nautical Nitwit, Kuda Harra and Over the Sir have run well over C&d in the past on similar ground , but haven’t really shone this season. Ruardaih Huigh rattled up a 4 timer on this kind of ground earlier in the season but returns after a 7 month break on a career high mark, but is still not ruled out. LIgheentertainment found some form last time but a further two pound penalty for that makes it tougher . Angus Glens is a most likeable type who has run well here in the past. He comes here on the back of a solid 2nd off this mark where Bigindie was close up 4th, but at this slightly longer trip, I’m with him to get a deserved success as he’s been 2nd 4 times in bhus last 5 runs.
¼ pt ew Angus Glens @ 14/1
8.35 No play in the bumper with a host of newcomers from smart stables
Wetherby= good ground on this mostly flat and galloping track
5.40 With the Richard fahey trained newcomer Private Matter poorly drawn and bred to appreciate further this Has has the look of amatch between Dubai Knights and Vaux, and while the former’ form does look a bit stronger, he is all about speed and the extra yardage gives the nod to his chief rival.
½ pt win Vaux @ 5/2
6.10 Miramonte Dancer is a likeable type who will try to make all but there are a few others in the field with the same idea and this could well be left to the closers. Fine example hasn’t been far away off this mark. He is well drawn and stays this trip well.
½ pt ew Fine Example @ 5/1

7.50 A decent pace looks on with the poorly handicapped Rock Song in the field and I’m taking a chance with Plane Tree. He won for Sir Michael Stoute last season on good ground and is worth a play in a field where few make appeal on either the ground or the trip. Kapstadt didn’t do badly last time and is another longshot with a squeak. Split stakes
¼ pt ewe each Plane Tree @ 22/1 Kapstadt @ 20/1
8.20 High Draw has run well in both of his races but they were both on soft ground, so can be only watched on this much quicker ground.Sir George Somers found it tough to get competitive last time over further and though bred for shorter trips, looms likely to be chasing shadows tonight. Torch ran very well last time and looks a most solid fav, but 5/4 is a bit short in a maiden. Excellent World ran well last time and could be an improver over this longer trip, but I’m watching.
