Wolverhampton – all weather- tapeta
1.50 I was very big on Livella Fella last time but from a less than inspirational ride, she went down a short head ! She does have the form to win this but with this being her first try on this specialist surface I prefer the chance of Invigorate. Bred to appreciate this longer trip, he only went down in close finish at this track , in quite a decent maiden and looks most solid ew.
¾ pt ew Invigorate @ 9/2
2.20 This is wide, wide open and the only one who would be a surprise winner is topweight Monsieur Chevalier, who is very high in the weights and would prefer a longer trip.I’m having a small play on British Embassy, who has decent form here and has been given a chance by the handicapper.
¼ pt ew British Embassy @ 15/2
2.55 Mutamid is all the rage for this as the longertrip is expected to suit, but he has tried it a few timebefore to no avail and this is his first time on tapeta. So It’s War ran well on his first run recentkly over C&D and from a good draw ha to go close, but things havent been working out for track specialist Dialogue of late and the bookies have been very generous about his chance.
½ pt ew Dialogue @ 25/1
3.30 It was no surprise to me that My Destinatioon flopped at Chelmsford, as he is far more at home here at on the fibresand. He is desperately hard to win with, but does have an excellent opportunity in this weak stayers handicap.
½ pt ew My Destination @ 13/2
4.05 The likeable Llyrical is on a hat-trick but thus longertrip has found hi out before. It’s a highly winnable contest and the drop in grade and the booking of SDS, gives C&D winner Taro Tywod a great chance of an overdue win.
½ pt ew Taro Tywod @ 6/1
4.40 Dont Touch is 2 from 2 and could be anything .He resumes after a 2 month break and is trying the surface for the first time. It’s a good Class 3 handicap and it’s a pity that the very genuine Anonymous John is drawn in the carpark ! Subversive has the best of the draw and had a great chance to take this all the way for a third C&D win under SDS
¾ pt win Subversive @ 11/4
5.10 Borough Boy is the short priced fav after his demolition job at Chelmsford, but he did get the run of the race that night , and it’s hard coming from behind there. There are a lot of pacey types in this and a soft lead is far from assured. Bilash has been given a chance by the handicapper and from agood draw, will have the stron g pace he likes to chase, and is well capable of a shock result.
½ pt ew Bilash @ 33/1
Good wood – good to soft on this undulating and pretty quick track
2.00 Sennockian Star won this last year and has been in the kind of form of late to make him of great interest for a repeat from a good draw, but unfortunately , also well drawn are fellow prominent racers Zand and Noble Gift and I fear he may have no peace up front. Collaboration’s winning streak came to a halt last time in a fat ground handicap, but he wasn’t beaten that far. He looked very good on soft ground when winning at Chester and also handles the similar contours of today’s track when successful at Epsom. He is drawn wide, but may horse win at this trip from similar positions.
½ pt ew Collaboration @ 8/1
2.35 A Class 1 for 2yos which I’m, swerving as many of these are progressive and the softer ground is an unknown.
3.10 A Group 2 and it gives a golden opportunity for the classy course winner Toormore. This is a welcome drop in class and he has a clear chance at the weights. He could very well take thses along and with soft ground no hindrance, looks a most solid fav.
1pt win Toormore @ 2/1
3.45 PREMIUM RACE
4.20 Double Up is a highly progressive sprinter and another win would be far from a shock but the gorund and C&D gives the capable Humidor more than just a squeak. He tends to win or come nowhere !
¼ pt win Humidor @ 10/1
4.55 A very tricky contest full of improving 2yos who have little experience on soft ground.
5.30 Third Time Lucky is a highly consistent and talented 3yo,, who is well drawn to get a handy pitch. He doesn’t mind getting his toe in and the vast majority of his rivals are exposed handicappers.
½ pt win Third Time Lucky @ 6/1
Beverley soft ground on this stiff track
It would be a bit of a lottery as there are so few runners with any history of from on soft ground
The only race I am tipping in on the card is the 3.55, which is a member’s Premium Bet
Galway – goods to soft ground on this galloping and stiff track
5.15 Long Dog could be yet another highly successfyl type for the combinationof Ricci/ Mullins and Walsh and has the form to with this decent event , but you has to be impressed with Adimelo’s win last time out. He chased strong pace under an amateur jockey and looked an ideal candidate to fold under is exertions, but he kept going in admirable style beating a couple of decent yardsticks. He undoubtable has some kind of engine and is backable ew.
½ pt ew Adimelo @ 6/1
5.45 A big field for this novice chase which promises to be fast and furious and a few spills are also likely . Hash Brown is the clear fav , but like the very decent Steps of Freedom, doesn’t enjoy soft ground and I’m having a small play on the consistent The Herds Garden. IT was just over a year ago that Guitar Pete was winning a big race at the Aintree Festival, but since then has regressed worryingly
¼ pt ew The Herds Garden @ 14/1
6.15 No Play in the maiden
6.50 Been through this valuable handicap a few times and can’t find one that fits the requirements.
7.20 Valac ticks all the boxes for top track trainer Dermot Weld. The ground is no problem and the first time visor as well as him having the snip, probably adds to his clear chance.
1.25 pts win Valac @ 6/4
7.50 Sorry folks, there’s nothing that really sticks out in this big field handicap.
8.20 Grecian Tiger was 2nd at this meeting last year and does have a very clear chance of going one better, but he is a bit hard to win with and his recent pop over hurdles could have been more encouraging, but he is Dermot Weld’s pick.
½ pt win Grecian Tiger @ 6/1
Worcester- good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.35 There’ll be quite a bit of pace on here but I doubt very much if today’s fav can double up on a recent win at Cartmel with his big weight rise and having a poor make up for a front runner.Tip to Toe drops to a more favourable trip, and this smooth traveller has to have a big chance, but he can throw in the odd bad one and is short in the market. Accessallareas likes to go with the pace, which is abit of a negative with so many front runners in the field, but he has been given a chance by the handicapper and he does keep on well.
½ pt ew Accessallareas @ 25/1
6.05 The once smart Oscara Dara returns to the track after an absence of more than 2 and a half years, for a new stable, and if he was only 3/4 right, would still win with ease, but with so many doubts , whose not one for around even money. Neither Garnock nor Shantou Tiger are running anywhere well enough to warrant support. Amber Flush ran his best race ever over C&D a few runs back, but the booking of an inexperienced amateur does temper my enthusiasm. Still worth a play. Kerry Mganga is not devoid of ability and has his first start for the highly respected Robert Stephens.
¼ pt ew Amber Flush @ 7/1
6.35 A good quality chase and the joint facs are the penalised pair of Red Seventy and Strongly Suggested, neither make much appeal under their penalties. My Brother Sylvest is a likeable front runner , who is fairly weighted, but this kind of expansive track may well not play into his strengths. Another Flutter is a bit in and out, but is capable of springing a surprise for his vey much in form small stable.
½ pt ew Another Flutter @ 16/1
7.05 Uncle Tone finally got it right last time and despite a drop in trip, the double looks on.
¾ pt win Uncle Tone @ 5/2
7.35 Gordon Elliot brings the most disappointing Toms Article across the irish Sea, again , for this seller , and Richard Johnson has been booked. So all the big names are there , but after a highly promising start to his career, Ton’s Article is runnin very poorly and has failed to complete in his last 4 runs. Kyles Faith is only modest, but relaibleand returns to his best C&D. I do like his chances.
¾ pt ew Kyles faith @ 11/2
8.05 Fort Worth certainly looked a youngster with a future last season, but nothing has gone right since. He was well held also in a handicap last time out and this longer trip doesn’t look a smart move.On The Bridge has a clear chance but has become very hard to win with so I’ with hat-trick seeking. Royale Django. He switched to hurdles but is massively improved of late and he’s won 3 of his last 4 . Both the light weights, Cut the Corner and Georgian King are not out of an open race.
¼ pt win Royale Django @ 3/1
8.35 Canicallyouback is 1/2 to send big hitters back home happy, but he is very hard to win with and both Cousin Guilleame and Howaboutnever are capable.
