Yahoo for Tahoo in the 5.20

Today’s Fortune for a Fiver

15p ew Lucky 15 & 25p ew acc

Tahoo 5.20 @ 9/2

Father Bertie 2.55 @ 11/1

Classic Flyer 4.40 @ 11/2

Kicking the can 5.10 @ 5/1

Newcastle – all weather – tapeta. A stiff and galloping track

1.50 Both Drochaid and Jive talking ran well on turf last time and both are bred to appreciate this surface, but the latters’ good 3rd came from off the pace and he’s going to be hard to beat.

1pt win Jive Talking @ 7/4

½ pt treble Jive talking 7/4 , Battered ( 1.55) @ 15/8 , D’Bai ( 2.00) @ 4/11 – pays almost 10/1

2.20 Cocoa Beach is th short priced fav and has done pretty well in just two starts, but does return from a 6 months break and was well held off this mark last time.Wowcha goes well obn this surface and I expect a forceful ride from Jack Garitty as this one stays further and comes here on a fair mark and in good form.

¼ pt ew Wowcha @ 8/1

2.55 Northgate Lad came back to his best last tim e out over C&D, a bit out of the blue , running a cracker from the front in a very hot race. He’s only  apound higher today and will be ridden by able 7 pound claimer Ben Robinson, but I always think front runners are a hard ride for inexperienced jockeys to gauge and for that reason alone I am siding with Farher Bernie, who will also be in the front rank and though he would be better served by another furlong , he ois effective on this surface and is drawn alongside Northgate lad. Both Regal da and Lavetta have a bit to prove off their marks and over this C&D.

½ pt ew father Bertie @ 11/1

3.30 Byonegetonethree has been going ok over hurdles and won over C&D , quite snugly , just two starts back on the flat. Despie a five pound rise, he’s the one to beat as the consistent pair of Maple Syrup and Nible Reach have yet to win.

¼ pt win Byonegetonethree @ 7/2

4.05 All of this field have more negatives than positives but I’ll have to row in with Yorkindred Spirit , who I stongly fancies last time out, but didn’t deliver.

¼ pt win Yorkindredspirit @ 13/2

4.40 A very frustrating race as there is so much pace in the race , it looks set up for an able finisher, but there are  acouple who could well snatch the spoils . I’m with Classic Flyer, who was my massive lay of the week last time and thiugh well beaten at catterick , ran better than I thought he would. He had a great record here on turf and though unproven on the surface , will have  his ideal strong pace to chase. Hat-trick seeking Culloden will have plenty of company up front, but if he got loose , the winnign sequence could be extended.

1/2 pt win Classic Flyer @ 11/2

5.10 A shocker of   a finale and only  a couple of these can be seriously considered. Kicking the Cn comes here on the back of  avery brave run over C&D where he had subsequent winner Our Kylie well held in 3rd . He’s never won a race in 22 tries and is 2 pounds higher for his latest good run. He’s a straight forward ride for an inexperienced rider and the jockey is yet to get off the mark, but thus is so weak, it could well be  a double celebration.

¾ pt ew Kick the Can @ 5/1

York – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

1.55 Battred showed plenty on his debut over C&D beaten just only two lengths. That is easily the best form on show and compensation  awaits.

1 pt winnBattered @ 15/8

2.25 Dew Pond is having a fine time of it of late with 3 wins from his last 4. He’s developed into a reliable and tough customer and you couldn’t rule out another big run today despite a  further weight rise. All of Corona Bolearis, Argent Knight and Perfect Summer will make this interesting and the nod goes to the latter , who has come back to form over hurdles of late for a new stable  and races off a workable mark.

¼ pt ew Perfect Summer @ 9/1

3.00 Swift Approval owes nobody anything and comes where with 3 wins from  his last 4 , but is a further 4 pounds up in the handicap and also is unlikely to have an easy time up front. Farlow signalled a return to form last time with the handicapper finally relenting and this is his best chance for a while.

¼ pt ew Farlow @ 13/2

3.35 You can put what you like on the classy Time test, who races on his ideal quick turf and though his rivals are decent types, a clear win looks assured . He’s 4/11 , which means you’re getting 35% for your investment for two minutes work. Not bad at all , if you’re a brave big hitter.

4.45  Four of the five won last time out and as they are all lightly raced improving types, a very easy race to swerve as no knowing how good these are.

No Bet

5.20 It’s always worth noting juveniles who win well on debut and this was the case with tahoo, who stormed home impressively at Carlisle and last time out lost nothing in defeat in a hot nursery over C&D last time out. He’s up two pounds for that, but comfortable holds both Merry Banter and Vona. Capable 5 pound claimer Jordan Vaughn takes the ride today and a win very much looks on as Masham Star has it to prove down in trip and Equimou’s win came on  the polytrack.

¾ pt win  Tahoo @ 9/2

Newmarket- good to firm on this undulating , galloping and stiff track

2.00 D’Bai was only just beaten by another Godlphin runner on debut and that one, Dubai Hero is fancied for the opener at Ascot , a listed juvenile race. This should be easy as the form  looks good, but not for me @ 4/11

No bet

2.35 Baydar has won 2of his 4 starts , and though this isnlt the strongest of races, does have quite a bit to prove off this mark, class and ground. You could make a case for all of his rivals.

No Bet

3.10 Spangled’s best ever run was at this trip three starts back at Leicester when she made all in a Class 3 . A reproduction  of that is easily good enough to dispose of beatable rivals.

½ pt win Spangled @ 9/4

3.45 Rah Rah will try to make all and will have company from Papa Luigi , whose winning run came to an end last time and finally looks in the grip of the handicapper. The Commndatore is also likely to be front rank early on. Nine of these appeal as likely winners at all and this looks  match between Priceless and Mont Kiara who finished alongside in a very hot contest over C&D last time and with the latter having a slight pull at the weights, this could be his day.

½ pt ew Mont Kiara @ 4/1  ¼ pt rev F/c Mont Kiara- Priceless

4.20 After a tidy debut win, Broken Stones ran very well to finish 3rd in the July stakes over C&D and that’s why he’s odds on for this Class 3. The only danger is Van er decken but even though broken Stones should oblige, I wont be playing in a small field at odds on.

No Bet

4.50 HUntlaw has won 2 of his last four but is not so effective when unable to boss affairs from  the front. He’s unlikely to have an easy time of it up front at all with Marbook in  the field and despite going up another 5 pounds, the prolific Bastille Day has to be worth a bet to get his 4 timer.

¼ pt win Bastuille day @ 9/2

5.25 A very easy 3 horse handicap to swerve .

No Bet

Ascot – good to frim on thjs stiff and galloping track

2.10 Many of these remain unexposed and there is a certain amount of guesswork as you are never sure with potentially classy 2yos , just how good they are , until they meet a test like this Class 1 . Godolphin have many winning 2yos to choose from and their pick is Dubai Hero, who looks the real deal when winning in debut and the Godolphin team do select their names carefully !!

½ pt win Dubai Hero @ 3/1

2.45 Fair Eva created a huge impression on debut , so much so that she is odds on for this Group 3 , which does look a bit of an over reaction,  but she could be a bit of  a star, we will know more after the event. Plenty of nice 2yos go to war and many are much of a muchness so I’m happy to watch , but I wont be backing Eva at odds on.

No Bet

3.20 It’s not the strongest of Class 2 handicaps and I’m witht eh lightly raced El Hayem, who raced last tim e as this stiffer test would suit.

¼ pt ew El Hayem @ 12/1

4.30 The King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Queen has an excellent chance of winning the race named after her parents in Dartmouth . This one is 3 from 3 this year and though the quicker ground is not ideal, he looks a good bet at the odds, and on form and attitude is the one to beat.

¾ pt win Dartmouth @ 4/1

5.00 A big field for this race for amateur lady jockeys and plenty of pace on  with  a handful of early pacers including 4 timer seeking Robero, who is a most likeable type and will be partnered by top rider Serena Brotherton. Flying fantasy is relay far away and remains fairly weights. The strong pace will suit his style of racing and looks a most lively longshot.

¼ pt ew Flying fantasy @ 20/1

5.35 A very togh small fueld handicap amd easily left alone

No Bet

Chester- good to firm on this flat and very sharp track

2.15 The Nazca Lines has the plot draw in stall 1 and also likes to get on with it sharpish, so this two factors are very much in his favour round here on quick ground. He won last time out but isn’t that well weighted on that form. Poets Society is another whoi likes to get on with it and is also not wel, weighted on his form and also has the outside draw, which even in a small field, is a big disadvantage.Juts a small play.

¼ pt win The Nazca Lines @2/1

2.50 Golden Glimmer already has a C&D win  on her CV in only four starts. She is the fav to take then along today and from a good draw, will take  a deal of catching in this winnable contest.

¾ pt win Golden Glimmer @ 3/1

3.25 War Glory is well drawn , but all of his runs have been on the all weather, so can reallu only be watched today. Both Viscount Barfield and Worlds His Oyster would prefer softer ground so I’m with the down in trip and well drawn NInetta, who could surprise today.

¼ pt ew Ninetta : 12/1

4.35 Not  a strong maiden but it could well be an all the way win for Pleasure Dome , but she does have stamina to prove.

¼ pt win Pleasure Dome @ 11/4

Selected Salisbury= good to firm on this slightly undulating, stiff and galloping track

5.15 Bobby Benton ran well after his long lay off last timebut if he can reproduce that level of form second time back in questionable. Raddamri ran well last time at Chepstow giving a strong indication that this stiffer track would suit and he is partnered by Pat Millman, one of the better riders in this race for amateur jockeys. H’s my bet of the night, where not much else makes huge appeal.

¾ pt win Rajadamri @ 4/1

5.50 After  apromosing debut , Desert way didn’t come on in her second start, but it did look a decent maiden , looks the best here.

¼ pt win desert Way @ 5/2

6.20 Justice lady did it really well last time but does  have a stiff penalty The Wee Chief showed last tim  ethat there is still plenty of life in his ageing legs and looks most decent ew.

¼ pt ew The Wee Chief @ 13/2

6.50 Texas Kate has the best form and the danger os probably the very costly and well related newcomer in Tawafooq.

¼ pt win Texas Kate @ 2/1

7.20 No play

7.50 Not the strongest of stayers handicaps and on a couple of recent runs , King Claypso has showed he can be right in the mix tonight.

¼ pt ew King Calypso @ 7/1

Lingfield- good to firm on this undulating and galloping track

5.40 Cold Fusion did really well on his first turf start beating Trily Scrumptious who won well last night. He’s going to be a tough nut to crack , but how will he cope with the hefty weight rise and much easier track. Small play on the likeable and consistent Betsalottoie

¼ pt ew Betsalottie @ 6/1

6.10 Argyle got the better of Scarpeta admittedly on soft ground m, but he has the form on a quicker surface to confirm the places.

¼ pt win Argyle @ 2/1

6.40 Leoncavello wasa huge improver over hurdles last season , and returns to the flat on his old mark, which was just how good he was on the flat. The bookies seem to have overreacted making him  a ½ fav and I’m with the tough and consistent Hurricane Volta .

¼ pt ew Hurricane Volta @ 7/1

7.10 & 7.40

No plays in these maidens – not enough to go on

8.10 Not the strongest of races and even though he’s a nit high in the weigths, Fairy Mist will run bhis race and that could be good enough to see him feature in the finish.

¼ pt ew fairy Mist @ 12/1

8.40 I was very keen on the chance of R Bar Open last time , but it just didn’t happen. Certainly worth another chance on the strength of his win two runs back.

¼ pt win R Bar Open @ 6/1
