3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Miss Mulligan 5.25 @ 7/2
Chocoya 2.55 @ 7/2
Breguet Boy 7.05 @ 11/2
Selected Lingfield – currently good to soft but could soften with plenty of rain forecast . The track is undulating and sharp.
1.40 Venetia Wiliams is far better known for her success in the Jumps game, but she trained the easy winner of yesterday’s Chester Silver Cup , with a new inmate and has a similar type in Natty Night , who came to hand early last season, held his form well and ended with a win on the Newcastle tapeta off just a 2 pound lower mark . He’s won here in the soft and longer trip looks a smart move .
½ pt wi Natty Night @5/2
2.15 The Oaks Trial and a field of already useful fillies, still in the infancy of their careers but a bit guessy as they all go up in trip and most have yet to race on soft ground. Aidan O’Brien runs Divinely who has form in the mud and is related to Arc heroine Found, so trip should be no issue and gets the nod .
¼ pt win Divinely @ 6/1
2.50 The Derby trial and the short priced fav is the impressive adayar , proven on soft ground and trip looks no issue , but all except Third Realm have good form in the mud, so may not be as straight forward as the bookies imagine .
3.25 A good quality fillies Group 3 and the progressive Double or Bubble goes for the 4 timer but graduates from handicap company and has a first try on soft ground. Isabella Giles has a clear chance at the weights and also relishes the mud and gets the nod .
¼ pt win Isabella Giles @ 7/2
No advice from Ireland today
1.15 The odds on fav is the already useful Dark Shift with no issues with soft ground . He could find this C&D on the quick side, but hard to envisage defeat for this 8/13 shot .
2.20 Cochise has the ground in his favour, but will he bounce 2nd race back after a break Jackamundo ended last season with a good 2nd in the Redcar mud at this trip and has longshot appeal.
¼ pt ew Jackamundo @ 10/1
2.55 A really good quality fillies Class 1 sprint and Mountain Brave will put the pace to the race and the likes of Fairy Dust Zim Baby and Ventura Diamond also likely to get busy early . Chocoya ran a cracker on her comeback spin on the Lingfield polytrack , which makes her the one to beat at the ratings and shaped well on soft ground last season .
½ pt win chocoya @ 7/2
4.05 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 This is certainly more about quality than quality and despite this being an apprentices race and also racing from a tricky wide draw, The Kings Steed brings comfortably the best turf form to the table off this reduced mark , and the softer ground no issue .
½ pt win The Kings Steed @ 9/2
Selected Haydock – very soft ground on the flat , soft over jumps. The track is flat and galloping
1.25 Quite a few non runners with the change in the going , but the ground and trip pose no problems for the in form Trincomalee , who has run really well in both of his handicap races , winning at Plumpton at this trip and also did very well at Cheltenham on ground quick enough where the uphill finish just found him out, Still feasibly handicapped up 2 pounds and this prominent racer gets the nod .
½ pt winTrincomalee @ 5/1
2.00 Aleas has done little wrong and after a 2nd on debut won his next two well . He’s the likely winner with the ground in his favour but evens plenty short for me .
2.35 The likeable Exalted Angel has a mountin to climb at the weights and is more of an all weather horse but he’s fbresand specialist , who often do well in the mud. All of his 3 rivals have question marks against them . Brando is so hard to win with as he’s a hold up type and unlikely to get a strong pace to chase. Cape Byron is a mud lover but his best track is the very different Ascot and only had the one run last year , which was instantly forgettable , but top connections keep the faith and he could make all . Khaddeem also had a light time of it last season and has an unconvincing profile .
¼ pt win Cape Byron @ 5/2
3.10 More Irish raiders here but the fancied Shanroe hss been stuck up a massive 21 pounds , but the fact he’s here says plenty while Politicise is another Irish raider to consider . Copperless was arguably the most unlucky loser at the Aintree Grand National meeting as he’s was cantering over his rivals until taking a late fall where Rowland Ward and Camprond fought out the finish , and has nice weight pull with that pair and could get his reward today .
¼ pt win Copperless @ 7/2
3.45 A very tricky small field Class 1 and the first for the red pen is the usually reliable Highland Dress , who has badly let the side down of late . The irish raider Current option has strong form claims and likes the ground but has a vey stiff task at the weights. The other three are hard to split but Tomfre ended the season with a hat-trick . is potent on the ground and has a progressive profile .
¼ pt win Tomfre @ 5/2
4.20 PREMIUM RACE
4.55 On the ground this could turn out to be a match between the in form pair of Falmouth Bay and Francky Du Berlais and over this C&D, the latter gets the nod .
¼ pt win FRancky Du Berlais @ 5/1
Selected Ascot – soft ground on this stiff and galloping track
1.55 both Lights On and Dreamloper have clear form claims but unproven on soft so I’m with the front running . mud loving Poet’s Lady who has run well on stiff tracks before .
½ pt win Poet’s Lady @ 11/2
2.30 A fiercely competitive Class 1 with many closely matched at the ratings and quite a few at home in the mud. The lightly raced Albaflora did little wrong last year and is proven at the track and ground and came to hand early last season .
¼ pt win Albaflora @ 5/1
3.40 PREMIUM RACE
4.15 LOugnani was a big disappointment on his comeback spin while Group One Power has a bit to prove on the ground and a stiff track . Calling The wind was admirably consistent last season and this late player is proven on the ground and track .
¼ pt ew Calling The wind @ 11/1
4.50 Spritely veteran Pettochide comes here on a hat-trick and runs this track well on soft ground and mark still manageable .
¼ pt ew Pettochside @ 7/1
5.25 A good pace is assured with all weather specialist Luna Wish sure to go on but unlikely to stay there . The fav is gwenhwyrar , but her only try on soft ground was just an Ok effort . Miss Mulligan made giant strides last season , remains on a good mark and no issues with trip or ground .
½ pt win Miss Mulligan @ 7/2
Selected Hexham – soft ground on this undulating , galloping and very stiff track .
2.10 This trip is short enough for Kalaharry but this stiff tracks suits well as does the deep ground and wont need a second invitation .
½ pt win Kalaharry @ 7/2
3.20 The reliable Hart of Steel has humped big weights well over C&D before in the mud and another good effort expected .
¼ pt win Hart of Steel @ 10/3

Fantastic Lady 7.20 @ 7/1
Jill rose 6.05 @ 8/1
Twilight Prince 6.35 @ 18/1
Brequet Boy 7.05 @ 11/2
Selected Warwick – soft ground on this flat and sharp track
7.20 Fantastic Lady ran her best race ever over C&d when unluckily falling late on with the race sewn up, That performance puts her on a good mark for her top stable and has less to prove at this trip than the majority
½ pt ew Fantastic Lady @ 7/1
Selected Thirsk – soft ground on this flat and sharp track
6.05 Highjacked nailed a deserved win over C&D last time but the 6 pound hit will take some overcoming . The pace to the race will come from Ustath ,drawn low and a bit to prove on soft ground but low could be the place to be and this makes soft ground C&d winner Jill Rose who struggled last time here on unsuitable fast ground , but ran well for a long way and looks a smart ew play .
½ pt ew Jill rose @8/1
6.35 Early pace on both sides of the track with double seeking Barney’s Bay on the far side , but on a tough mark now while Le Cheval rapide will be bombing it up the stands rails despite the drop in trip, but is a mud lover . So , likely that the draw wont have a bearing .Twilight Prince ran well twice at Redcar , once on soft ground and can be excused a lesser effort at Hamilton . He’s a notorious slow starter but comes home well and on a very fair mark and looks a lovely longshot .
½ pt ew Twilight Prince @ 18/1
7.05 Brequet Boy is very reliable and landed a few wins over hurdles on soft ground, He wasn’t far away on ground too quick at Ayr and both the longer trip and softer ground are in his favour .
½ pt ew Breguet Boy @ 11/2
