Las Tunas 1.20 Hexham @ 7/2
Alba de Tormes 4.00 @ 11/4
Selected Ponty – good to firm on this undulating , galloping and very stiff track
1.30 He’s now a 12yo but still one of my favourite horse in recent years , and while he’s lost a yard or two of pace, he is still rated a lofty 98 , which certainly gives him clear claims today . He’s well drawn to attempt an all the way win and he’s won on stiff tracks before and wont flinch if it comes down to who wants it most . With Justanotherbottle missing the start frequently of late , the tip looks sure to take these along and it’s a case of will he be caught and I think not as the much improved Venturous has a bit to prove switching to quick having had a cracking season on synthetics .
½ pt win Caspian Prince @ 4/1
2.00 You’re going to need a specialist to lift this as few horses will welcome this marathon trip at this very stiff circuit and despite a lot of these coming here in ordinary or poor form , they just may take to this test. The veteran Uncle bernie has been going well on the all weather and has run well here in the past . Like his odds and a lively longshot .
¼ pt ew Uncle Bernie @ 16/1
2.30 The reliable Ventura Rascal ran a cracker over C&D on his recent comeback spin , going with the pace and only giving best late on . He’s been unlucky in the draw again , but still makes most appeal as he’s a lot more prolific than these.
¼ pt win Ventura Rascal @ 3/1
3.00 Dapper Man got it right last time and the double looks on with no penalty and over a C&d he runs well . Not totally assured of getting his own way up front, so I’ll be watching this odds on shot.

3.30 scarlet Bear is making a right meal of shedding his maiden tag , but did take on some hot company last season and brings a high level of form to the table. It would be very disappointing for connections if this 1/2 shot fails to outclass these .

4.00 The front running Alba De Tormes backed up a win at Newcastle with a brave effort on quick turf at Redcar , chinned on the line . He is very closely matched with Headshot and Soller Bay as all three have been crossing swords and all three have been nudged up the weights but the well drawn tip can make all and stiff track should be fine .
½ pt win Alba De Tormes @ 11/4

Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track – speed track

4.15 Twice as Likely comes here on a hat-trick after two good wins at Wolver , responding very well to the big drop in the ratings. He’s up 5 pounds but was rated much higher in the none too distant past and the switch to quick turf no issue . He’s up against modest rivals with a clear preference for synthetics . Looks a bit of a penalty kick at relatively very generous odds .
¾ pt win Twice As Likely @ 5/2
4.45 The three last time winners understandably head the market In a modest finale but as Enough is Enough’s win came on the all weather 2 months ago and the 5 timer seeking Bad Company is on a stiff mark and needs soft ground, the door is open for recent Donny winner Leroy Leroy, who beat a big field with utmost determination .
¼ pt win Leroy Leroy @ 5/2

Selected Hexham – good ground on this undulating , galloping and very stiff track .
1.20 Few of these get their heads in front frequently and the better ground wont be suiting many. Las Tunas showed up much better last time and has the ground very much in his favour and has a rare pop in Class 5 and his record stands in this grade is a win and a place in just 3 tries . An easy win on his CV at Carlisle on good ground raises hopes that he will cope with this testing circuit .
½ pt win Las Tunas @ 7/2

Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track
4.25 The three winners in the field head the market but as Away At dawn is now looking hard to win with and Gilbertina’s win on good ground was not as good as her runs on soft, the decent flat horse Alborkan can follow up a cosy win at Plumpton on this kind of ground .
¼ pt win Alborkan @ 11/8
5.00 The consistent Ripper Roo is making a right meal of shedding his hurdles maiden tag and this 1/3 shot comfortably brings the best form to the table, but the ground will be quick enough and this C&D sharp enough , so may have to work a bit harder than you’d expect to land the odds .

6.30 The prolific Arthur’s Sixpence returns to the fray after an 8 months absence as he’s hopeless on soft ground . He’s on a tough enough mark but this C&D winner goes well fresh and is the clear danger to the back to form Presence of Mind who split a couple of useful yardsticks at Wincanton recently in a better race than this .
¼ pt win Presence Of Mind @ 2/1
7.00 Many of these have a bit to prove on the quicker ground , the sharp track and the trip . Tour De pub responded well to the drop in the ratings last time with a narrow defeat at Wetherby at around this trip on good ground and that puts him right in the picture .
¼ pt win Tour De Pub@ 11/2
7.30 The fav is recent C&d winner Made For You , but the quicker ground is more of an issue than the penalty . Youngster Theocrat sluiced in at Hereford on quick ground and could well make light of the very stiff penalty .
¼ pt win Theocrat @ 9/4

Selected Kempton – good ground on this flat and sharp track
4.50 Chez Hands had to work quite hard to prevail last time and could struggle a bit under a penalty . Glimpse of Gold made all to win at fakenham last time and despite a penalty and a rise in grade , could go quite well if able to dominate . hydroplane put in a much improved effort last time with a change of tactics when held for a late charge and splitting two reliable yardsticks and with a strong pace likely is fancied to nail this late on .
½ pt win Hydroplane @ 5/2
5.20 You would expect 2/5 shot Adrien Du Pont to land this with the minimum of fuss .

6.50 Another great race for the headless ones as this is practically a match between the very hard to split captain Morgs And Mackenburg , and their evens joint favs and neither has a clear edge .

7.20 While Quarenta and flying Angel act on good ground, they’re both better when the mud is flying so this looks a match between the admirable Templepark , so reliable and finally has his ground, but this trip does stretch him so preference for the back to form Psychedelic Rock .
¼ pt win Psychedelic Rock @ 7/2
7.50 Very tricky as the 3 market leaders in Switch Hitter , Prince Escalus and Oscar Rose are all front runners and all penalised !!
