Good day everyone, let’s go winner finding
Exeter – ground has improved and is generally good to soft on this stiff track
1.10 Minella Friend is the even money favourite in this big field of novice hurdlers. His form is good enough to take this but with some very lightly raced types from good stables, including Mosspark, Ned Stark and Neville, even money looks far too short for me. Gentleman Jon was a decent bumper but has yet to taste soft ground. NO Bet.
1.40 A big field for this stayers hurdle but quite a few can be eliminated on the score of ground and distance. Twice Returned is very interesting for the bang in form stable of Dan Skelton. His weight looks fine and he could well improve for this longer trip.Royal Native is only young and was a winning premium bet for me last week at 8/1. He has gone up in the weights but certainly looks an excellent each way bet.
¾ pt ew Royal Native @ 6/1
2.10 Smad Place is one of the country’s best staying hurdlers and he had the race at his mercy recently on his chasing debut when falling at the last. That form is certainly good enough to win today, but the bookies have overreacted somewhat and he’s been installed at 1/4 and he’s got a couple of decent rivals in the shape of Seymour Eric and Ardkilly Witness. Seymour Eric was one of last year’s huge improvers climbing from an initial handicap mark of 85 up to 134, almost 50 pounds , about 50 lengths !! However his best form is on easier tracks, but he’s still well respected and his stable is in good nick. Ardkilly Witness has a similar rating to Seymour Eric but does have form on stiff tracks, and he’s worth a decent eachway.
¾ pt ew Ardkilly Witness @ 8/1
2.40 Premium Race
3.10 Premium Race
3.40 Many of these are either going up or down in trip. Favourite Moleskin is very well weighted but hasn’t run at this trip for a very long time. Last Shot is still high in the weights and this trip on this track will be a real challenge. Moorland Sunset, Moorland Jack and Midnight Lira all are running well but either have high handicap marks or a drop in trip to contend with. Brockwell Park has her first chase but has a very good weight, she’s very consistent and the trip and track is fine.
¾ pt ew Brockwell Park @ 12/1
4.10 This is between Joanne One and Blue Buttons and their form is hard to balance but at the prices Blue Button is a more attractive bet.
½ pt win Blue Buttons @ 3/1
Lingfield – all weather.
12.30 The bookies are running scared offering only even money about Tee It Up Tommo in this 12 runner handicap. Ok he has a good chance but you’d be mad to lump on as it;s far from a cake walk. Santadelacruze is up a bit in the weights but his mark is certainly manageable and he’s a big threat but the tip is Lutine Charlie who comes here in good form, likes the track and trip and is a very attractive price.
¾ pt ew Lutine Charlie @ 11/1
1.0 >Man Amongst Men is 1/4 and should win, but he’s a hold up type who certainly wont get the strong pace he needs today. Newcomer Tower Power from the inform stable of Ismail Mohammad is bred to go ojn this surface, while David Lanigan’s Ragged Robin has shown nothing so far but is bred in the purple and must come good soon and the stable is among the winners, but I’d like more than 10/1 . NO bet>
1.30 Sir Robert Cheval ran well on debut at Yarmouth and the form has been backed up by the 2nd that day running well at Doncaster. But he’s not bred for this surface. Roger Varian’s Master of Alkmaar disappointed badly last time out. NO bet
2.0 >A wide open handicap . There wasn’t much between Amosite, Bouyrin and broughton’s Charm at Wolverhampton last week and at the revised weights it will be even closer today. Emerald Sea is well weighted and could well improve for this trip. Maggie Pink ran her best race of the season at Doncaster in the mud, but her polytrack form is not that good. Broughton’s Charm is a tricky ride but is weighted to just about win this one.>
½ pt win Broughton’s Charm @ 6/1
2.30 Gregori is now high in the weights and has been off for a while. Verus Delicia should have done better Wolverhampton last week but this race is easier. Homeboy is better over further. Night Trade continues to tumble in the weights and has a reasonable chance. The tip is Dishy Guru , who’s been off for a while but is very well handicapped and has good course stats. His stable is among the winners
¼ pt win Dishy Guru @ 12/1
3.00 A wide open stayers handicap Bramshill lass was a very easy winner at Kempton recently , she’s up in the weights but on that run is highly respected. The Queen’s Canduliminesence still has stamina to prove. The tip is Swift Blade, who’s had a light season, is very well weighted and though he’s never tried this far runs like a stayer and the stable is going pretty well.
½ pt win Swift Blade @ 11/1
3.30 A very interesting maiden. Red Warrior brings good handicap form on this surface to the table but all of Hawker, Number One London, Vermont and Desert Skies are capable of taking this one.
4.00 Another wide open handicap. Shirtaki ran a blinder last time but the handicapper has steped and made this tougher. He was just ahead of Silver Lace, who still shapes like a non-stayer and Understory. Understory continues to drop in the weights and should comeon for his last run and is the selection. Mc Birney needs further .
¼ pt win Understory @ 9/1
Bangor – soft ground on this undulating , quite sharp track.
12.50 A wide open handicap .Morgan’s Bay is on a hat-trick but has stamina to prove.Ballyfillen and Opera Og both have first rate chances while Good Egg and Achimota are far from out of this. I’m going for topweight See What Happens, who I backed last time and was given a very tender ride and could well be more up for it today.
¼ pt win See What Happens @ 6/1
1.20 Tullyraine had a rear view of Winds and Waves at Worcester recently but on this track I full expect the roles to be reversed. Tullyraine is still on a very good mark, he loves the ground and is 2 from 2 at this track.
1.25 pts win Tullyraine @ 11/4
1.50 Premium Race
2.20 Irish Cavalier had little to beat when winning at Stratford and though the form isn’t strong again has kittle to beat today . Master Red was a good bumper and is the only rival. No bet
2.50 A very difficult handicap. Both Shotofvodka and Stopped Out will make this a real test. Shotofvodka has never gone this far and that’s a concern while Stopped Out is not well weighted. Azure Fly and Bob’s World also have stamina concerns, while Bourne needs a lot further Hada Men represents the bang in form stable of Venetia Williams and he’ll go on the ground and ould well have the race run to suit.
¾ pt win Hada Men @ 11/2
3.20 Rayak was a good French flat horse, especially in the mud , but is only even money in this very modest juvenile hurdle. NO bet.
Kempton –all weather
4.20 A most uninspriring low grade sprint and favourite Excalibur could well take this but he’s badly drawn and his young jockey is only 1 winner from almost 50 rides !!. The tip is demoiselle Bond, who has chunks of pace and is very well handicapped. She hasn’r un for over 6 months and the stable is quiet but at the odds is worth a little bet.
¼ pt win Demoiselle Bond @ 10/1
4.50 A cracking Class 3 sprint and Robert Cowell has the two class horses here in Ubetterbegood, who won this last year off a similar mark and former top notch sprinter Prohibit. Neither would be a surprise winner but they are not running at their best. Youngster Perfect Pastime is on a five timer but he’s up in the weights and has never tasted polytrack The rest don’t have good form on polytrack except Bern me Baby, who has been dropped in the weights and will appreciate the return to this trip.
¾ pt ew Bern Me Bay @ 8/1
5.20 A wide open maiden with all of Cincuenta Pasos,Conflicting and Frangipani having good chances. Furas from Godolphin isn’t very well bred and is not bred for polytrack. The selection is Frangipani who was very promising on her debut and is related to some very useful types.
¾ pt win Frangipani @ 5/1
5.55 This looks at the mercy of the consistent Donncha, but at 5/4 I’m not playing .NO Bet
6.30 Groovejet has the best for but has yet to taste polytrack and isn’t bred for it. Spectator’s debut run was Ok but is well related, especially to polytrack winners.
½ pt win Spectator @ 5/2
7.00 A wide open nursery.Jazzy Lady came god last time and is well drawn and this compensates for her rise in the weights. Jarlath ran very well off this mark over course and distance recently, but has horrendous draw tonight. The tip is Tyrsal, who remains on a good mark and the course and trip are fine.
½ pt win Tyrsal @ 6/1
7.30 A cracking Class 2 and none of the sextet can be ruled out but Grey Mirage has good chance at the weights and can dicate and kick off the front. Veteran Harison George remains in great form and can’t be ruled out but Magic City, is best in at the weights but has never raced on polytrack .
½ pt win Grey Mirage @ 9/4
8.00 A wide open handicap and though the stable is quiet, Colinca’s Lad remains very well handicapped and has good enough form on polytrack to cause the upset.
¼ pt win Colinca’s Lad@ 14/1
