Dingo Dollar 2.05 @ 7/1
Caboy 12.20 @ 12/1
Vintage Glen 12.05 @ 11/4
Newcastle – probably good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
11.45 The decent flat horses Too Friendly and Twilight Twist are both 1 from 1 but both carry a penalty and of that pair, Twilight Twist looks most vulnerable on soft ground and a stiff track . I’m chancing Johnny Boom who was a likeable and consistent type on the flat who was fine on soft ground and stiff tracks and the swich to Brian Ellison is another positive with his good record with new intakes .
¼ pt win Johnny Boom @ 15/2
12.20 The market leaders in the hat-trick seeking Luck of The draw and Scene Not Heard have it to prove off high marks, a stiffer track than usual and softer ground , Caboy hasn’t won well for a while but is rarely far away . Recent comeback spin was encouraging and remains on a good mark . Very nice longshot .
½ pt ew Caboy @ 12/1
1.30 Worth chancing the lightly raced Cooper’s Cross, well backed hen coming off the pace for a cosy win at Sedgefield and the longer trip a positive . Valleres is not a certain stayer .
¼ pt win Cooper’s Cross @ 7/2
2.05 Dingo Dollar won this race last year when practically making all and has similar ground today . After his win he was a magnificent 2nd in the Scottish Grand National and his comeback spin off his new testing mark was very encouraging . This isn’t as competitive as it first looks
½ pt ew Dingo Dollar @ 7/1
3.15 The Grade 1 Fighting 5th Hurdle and the fav is the former Champion Hurdler Epatante , who won this last year , but had to work quite hard and despite only being a 7yo , is not quite the horse she was . Monmiral is 5 from 5 and this youngster looks sure to be involved in all of the top hurdle races this season , including of course this one . Sceau Royale has certainly got the bit between his teeth and has never been running better . Worth a dabble for a minor upset .
¼ pt win Sceau Royale @ 11/2
Selected Donny- probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track
12.05 This is very uncompetitive and the form horse is the consistent Vintage Glen , yet to win but rarely far away and will be fine on the ground and the C&D .
½ pt win Vintage Glen @ 11/4
1.43 PREMIUM RACE
2.18 Quite a few of these have a bit to prove on either current form or the trip . Pyramid Place showed last time that he has the stamina and the form for this test .
¼ pt win Pyramid Place @ 9/2
Selected Newbury – probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track
12.10 The prolific Nina The Terrier goes for the 4 timer and last time beat Ahorsewithnoname and Elle Est Belle over C&D and is better off , considerably at the weights ! but today’s ground is likely to bring top bumper horse Elle Est Belle a lot closer .
¼ pt win Elle Est Belle @ 6/4
12.40 The short priced fav is Henry De Bromhead’s unexposed chaser Mr incredible , who certainly has the form In the book and expected to be well suited by the longer trip but Ahoy Senor and the front running ashtown Lad have comparable form with the fav and at the odds the tip has to be the play .
½ pt win Ashtown Lad @ 7/1

3.00 An absolute crackerjack of the Grade 3 Ladbrokes Chase and you’d do very well finding the winner with many in with a strong chance and Ireland is very well represented with 4 runners , al in the top 5 of the weights and 3 of them at the head of the market . I’m with a couple of reliable and useful types for the home team in Potterman and Remastered , both very consistent , on workable marks and trip / ground fine .
¼ pt ew each Poterman @ 18/1 , Remastered @ 12/1 – why not a small rev fc
3.35 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Wolver- all weather – tapeta
The card had to survive 3 inspections for snow settling on the track. It goes ahead but from a punting point of view , no great loss as I’m only having a few plays .
4.00 The penny has certainly dropped for the front running Howzak, 3 wins and a close 2nd in his last 4, but the handicapper is getting there as he was held off this mark last time , but still made a right fist of it . The drop in trip is probably in his favour but not well drawn and there are at least 3 others who have leadability claims , which wont help his cause . Ooh Is It returns from a 5 months break on a hat-trick but now on a very stiff mark and like Howzak is unproven on this surface . With so much early this will vdery much suit the late playing and consistent Show Me A Sunset , who runs this track well, is a on a workable mark and well drawn.
½ pt ew Show Me A Sunset @ 6/1
5.00 I was with Superior Force here last time and he lost very little in defeat , just weakening late on so the drop in trip is welcome and this mark remains manageable .
½ pt win Superior Force @ 11/4
6.30 This is not a deep race with it hard finding positives for practically all which presents a golden chance for the consistent C&d winner Street Kid who backed up the win with a most solid 3rd off this mark again over C&D, which is well good enough form to land this .
½ pt win Street Kid @ 6/4
