The handicapper is making it more difficult and is now 3 pounds higher than his last effort , which was a close 2nd, but the excellent Ciaren Fallon takes 3 pounds off his back to balance the books. He’s a prominent racer in field of mostly hold up types and good chance of seeing this out for another win .

3.05 A crackerjack of a Class 1 sprint and the very wonderful El astronaut will endeavour to make all , as he did last time , but his form has become a bit patchy of late and not assured of running to his mark . He’ll have company up front by the new kid on the block in Listed sprinting in youngster Que amoro , whose comeback spin was awesome and not ruled out while the ever reliable Major Jumbo will also be front rank, and could find it tough keeping up on this quick C&D and ground. This has the look of dropping to a late player making the useful Equilateral the one to be on , despite the penalty.

3.40 This has a most winnable look to it and like the chance of the lightly raced Make My day, who was trained by John Gosden last year and ended a light season with an all the way win at Salisbury , putting him on a good mark today. He’s now with the top stable of Ralph Beckett , who does very well with new intakes . This trip on fast ground could be a bit short , but like his odds .

2.15 A class 1 sprint for 2yos and an odds on fav in Method, who isn’t a good bet to me as his win looked good , but was an ordinary maiden and all of his rivals have showed good form and all open to improvement. After a good debut on the all weather, Bowman was a costly failure on turf but has set the record right with two subsequent wins on fast turf . Considering the wealth of juvenile talent in the Mark Johnston stable, has to be a nice play at good odds.

A true pace is assured with Shine So Bright in the field , who would be dangerous if getting to the front under no pressure as he’s good enough to win and stays further . The fav is the once very useful The Tin Man, but his lat win came 2 years ago and recent efforts have been below par. Tis Marvellous has run two steady races this season and appeals to come off the pace and nail this late on .

4.30 The hat-trick seeking Sir plato is penalised a massive 9 pounds for a good win at Chepstow and likely to struggle with his new mark and on a more conventional track. dargel has a bit to prove switching from polytrack while Lalania could struggle up in trip and the ratings . Puero Banus is running well but is on a stiff enough mark. Oud Metha Bridge is generally consistent and comes here on the back of a good 2nd at Yarmouth , splitting a pair of inform rivals. This C&D should suit and a nice ew play.
