1.00Elham Valley only won a seller last time and his new stable has a rotten record with new intakes. The fav is the lightly raced Bellatrixsta , but there’s a question mark over this longer trip and returns from a break. Binyon comes here on the back of two seconds off around this mark and looks a very nice ew play with trip and ground no issue .

1.30 Prior to his last race ,Viva Voce has only run twice , both times on the all weather , and didn’t look to be of much interest returning from a lengthy break in a soft ground Redcar handicap , off what looked just a fair mark , but he won the race at long odds, giving the rest of the field a start and when he made his move in the final furlong, just drew away for a long looking 5 lengths win . He has a massive 9 pound penalty , but as he’s so lightly raced and so impressive at this trip in the mud last time , is taken for the double against mostly exposed rivals. There’s a few front runners so he’ll have an ideal strong pace to chase.

2.00 This looks very much a match between Barney’s Bay and rich Dream who both ran to a similar level of form on their debuts at this trip , but as the former is proven on the ground, gets the nod .

2.30 The lightly raced Tacitly runs for a top stable in the Frankel colours and despite being 3 pounds higher for his C&d win last time , is lightly raced and there is more to come, but short enough in the market. Zip is in terrific form and wont be far away with C&D and ground suiting . The front running Sermon could struggle to dominate from a wide draw and soft ground at this trip could catch him out .

1.10 Logician is a career 5 from 5 , culminating in last year’s St Leger . He worried the life out of everyone during the Winter coming down with a severe illness but thankfully , that’s now over . He’s frightened off the opposition and has only one rival and is 1/10 to succeed. Would I be throwing my million on to nab an easy £100, 000, no thanks.

3.25 Pastafact has been rated much higher in the past but comes here on a C&D hat-trick, both times starting slowly but coming home quick and in this modest heat , taken to land the hat-trick off just a 2 higher mark .Under Curfew has no penalty for a rare win last time but the longer trip doesn’t help .

3.55 The drying ground wont help the likeable and capable Eye on the water, but still has good claims . The 5 pound hit wont help Handytalk while the consistent Gambon has become very hard to win with . The ultra consistent Lady Celia is only a pound higher for another good run last time but drying ground an issue , but not out of this competitive heat . Bounty Pursuit is a most likeable type and in 5 runs here has 2 wins and 2 places and as usual, has been competitive this season despite the stiff mark . The drop in trip is not a major issue and another good run likely .
