The pace is likely to fall apart and the likely beneficiary is the capable Equlateral, but he’s run a few tame ones of late and I’m with the strong finishing Tinto , under Jim Crowley to spring the shock .

2.15 Maydanny is likely to set the pace but remains on a testing mark and likely to be a sitting duck late on. Ilarabb has win 3 from 4 and is very hard to assess , but can’t be ruled out .The in form youngsters of Tenbury Wells and Kingbrook can’t be ruled out but preference is for the lightly raced Starcat , successful on debut last year then aimed at Group class, but it was too ambitious a target . He’s a hold up type who hasn’t been far away in his last two runs and you can expect similar today .

2.50 At the ratings, Elarqam is the one to beat , but he’s had a shocking season and wont have an easy time up front with the in form Gifts Of Gold in the field. This looks very much a match but over this C&d, desert Encounter gets the nod over the useful and admirable Extra Elusive .

The stable has made no secret that his target is the Champion Stakes ,so may not be fully would up today , but is tempting at around 5/4 .

3.05 A good quality sprint for juveniles and the useful Red Fascinator is the likely leader , well drawn on the stands ralls , proven on the ground and sees the trip out well and take some catching , but bit worried that stable jockey Ben Curtis prefers the capable She’s So Nice .

3.50 The Cesarawitch trial and the short priced fav is the useful bumper Ocean King who has made the transition to the flat successfully , but is on a tough mark and has to prove effectiveness over this demanding C&D. Rochester House is a typically tough Mark Johnston stayer and if opting to lead , could take a bit of catching . the consistent Smart Champion wont be far away .

4.25 Certainly worth a decent play on the outsider in Bollin Joan .This tough front runner did little wrong off her new mark when unable to dominate , but kept on really well. She is the most likely pacesetter today and this C&d should suit well . Big danger is the lightly raced angel fairy who could relish the longer trip .
