12.10 Pogo I am was a costly failure last time and her profile suggests she may well run another stinker today . Galce Macalo looked sure to land a good event at Aintree until taking a last flight fall and was far from disgraced next time again in good company . This should very much be her day .

1.10 I predicted the demise of Getaway Trump last time when long odds on because of the longer trip , but could show these a clean pair of heels back to his best distance , but 11/8 short enough in a tricky heat .

1.45 The fav is the admirable novice Callum gilholey who pulled it out the fire last time showing a stack of determination . His mark is fair enough and the longer trip looks up his street . Mahler’s Promise sprung a massive surprise in a good quality novice event at Newbury on soft ground , but later had his limitations exposed in higher grade at the same track. He goes well fresh , is on a good mark and the longer trip could see an even bigger run today . The highly consistent Vancouver is just too long in the odds to ignore .

2.20 Court Master landed his first two races last season and wasn’t disgraced in his other run in a hot Cheltenham handicap. He stays on a workable mark and this prominent racer doesn’t have a great deal to beat . Bootlegger is on a good mark and in form but this is a very tricky track for a maiden chase.

2.43 The fav is the back to form Sizing at Midnight but not for me under a penalty and on softer terrain. Many of these are trying fences for the first time and it could be the making of them . Former pointer wayfinder is of interest but I like the look of an outsider in Norwegian Wood , who was consistent over hurdles last season at around this trip and on soft ground and better can be expected from this pointer over fences .

Fool To Cry was a shock winner at Hexham , but this is a very different track and softer ground today . Dalaman ran Ok in all runs last season and shouldn’t be far away .

He ran a terrific race here in the mud carrying a big weight and a capable 5 pound claimer is welcome aboard today . The fav is Jolly Maker but the drop in trip wont help and still on a tough mark .

4.25 The short priced fav is Jacinth who brings the best form to the table but I’m looking elsewhere as she’s been off the track for 7 weeks , goes up in trip and new to the surface. Florence Street did little wrong last time out at Kempton so is proven at the trip and surface and Oisin rides.

4.55 This has a winnable look to it and both Red Carpet Queen and Trixie Mitskie have run well here before , but the longer trip is a worry . Until her, latest effort , Beverage was very consistent , but did run poorly and her only try on this surface was a weak run. The good Ting sprung a shock at Lingfield at this trip then held her form well in a soft ground nursery . She was way out the back in a Bath nursery a few days ago but that was on firm ground and from a bad draw and better expected tonight.

It’s understandable that El salvaje is the fav after a good run over C&D last time , but is a maiden and not well drawn , so 11/8 unappealing . Old Harbour ran well over C&D last time and looks way overpriced for his chance.
